1. Beau certainly was lucky to have found you... guess you are each other's early Christmas present eh! :D The world needs more people like you.
2. Nahieran- do you honestly believe if we had full control of this place there would be any unscrupulous ads?? Get over it mate.   There are far worse things than advertising gamebred abpts, as K (surely the most compassionate, humane animal lover ever to exist! :) ) has already mentioned... and if you even bothered to look past the advertising you will discover that almost all of us are against dog fighting and other practices you may personally find abhorrent. The simplest thing, of course, is to just find another site that meets your pure, innocent, ethical and moral standards. Good luck! :evilbat:
3. ok, now I am freaked out... I've never personally known anyone in this sort of situation... look after yourself courtnek.
4. I'm sorry DAL I don't have much advice to offer... Zoey has obviously picked up on your feelings. Perhaps you do need to spend more time with her as well and reinforce that you are the boss and no matter what she needs to obey you on your terms...? I do have a favourite of course (BK, well duh   ). But because he doesn't live with another dog anymore he doesn't have the opportunity to get constantly jealous of other dogs- and even when there *are* other dogs I'm paying attention to (eg. Tomson, Lizie, dogs at the park), he's fine with it. He's too busy trying to get them to play with him instead of me! :)
5. OK, I think it's time this was called off. Good posts from most of you but bickering about another site from non-members who can't seem to post anywhere else is, I believe, not really what this forum is a platform for. It is NOT about the "regulars" here getting tired of any argument (in fact we have mostly stayed OUT of it)- rather, that most of this particular argument has been about another unrelated site and who's been banned etc etc. So if you don't all mind this thread is being closed. Have a nice day. :)
6. BK is a licker though not an obssessive one. If you hold out your hand to him he'll lick it a few times, same if you get up close to his face. If you stick your hand or foot in his way while he's grooming his front legs he'll give you a nice tongue bath. He gets slower and slower and after a while his tongue just kind of stays in one spot and *quivers* for a few seconds. Kind of gross but nice at the same time. :D :D He and Rinny used to lick each other's faces/ears all the time. :)
7. That sounds great DP. I wish we could do that here. :(
8. I'm so sorry to hear such sad news, Kathy. Treasure the last few precious months you have and remember we are all here if you need us.
9. LOL I think the best "toy" that BK ever had was an old soccer ball I grabbed off a hard rubbish collection on our way home from the park one night. Now when I say "toy" I mean something that he was allowed to destroy, unlike the fence, the side of the house, Rinny's tennis balls, books, the garden hose, my watch... The soccer ball is long gone but he still loves plastic milk bottles, his obedience dumbbell and any bone he can find. The Kong I bought him he doesn't play with because he's too lazy (or too well fed)- he knows he'll get fed soon so he doesn't have to try to get the food out.
10. Agree with Ellie- the implementation is more the problem than the actual instrument. I haven't been to his site but he sounds like a right prick. :x Sure you can have your opinion as long as it agrees with mine type thing... oh well if that's the way he wants it, let him. Stay here with us instead!
11. Naaaa... I would if I could but I can't. :( Roxy is not good with cats and as you know we have Lily now. :( I just hope she goes to someone who will love her and look after her so she never has to shift again. :(
12. Oh just to add the reason I didn't adopt her was because I was told the morning I was going to trial her at home that the owner's uncle was going to adopt her instead, as he had a large country property where she could run (which sounded like the best option). She came up for adoption a few months after that at a country address and I made some enquiries which got nowhere as soon as I revealed I was interested in her prior. :x
13. Christmas is a fun time of year, holiday season is always mad fun for me anyway. One of my best friends usually comes down from Sydney (she's from Melbourne originally) and we have a massive New Year's party and just hang out. None of my family are religious but I did go to midnight mass a few years ago to see what all the fuss was about. (didn't see much, the cathedral was way too packed!) I like seeing my family all happy and I like eating lots of food and getting drunk and falling asleep in the middle of the afternoon, then waking up a few hours later to do it all again. This year lunch is at dad's, probably a barbeque, should be hot but with Melbourne weather who knows? (today is technically the first day of summer and I'm sitting here in a jumper, yesterday it was 35C- go figure.) I have a little list but what I really want is a cd player and some decent speakers for my car.
14. ROFL the same thing happened to my uncle's old Basset and a roast lamb some years ago. Sneaky old Snoopy was positively groaning after demolishing a leg of lamb meant for five people.  On a more serious note, hope your baby is ok and that all she suffers is some regret! :D
15. The Dobermann I was thinking of adopting about this time last year has cropped up yet again, this time at an animal protection society. I feel SO sorry for her. This is the 4th time she has been put up for adoption/sale in her life, and the third in the past year. :( :( :( :( :( :( I think if she was at all dangerous she would have been PTS, so it must be that unsuitable people have adopted her, have found she needs extra work/training etc, and just handed her off to whoever would take her. Stupid people.
16. One 8yo blue heeler cross. (and one of those is enough :D ) We don't know what he is crossed with. possibly border collie, kelpie, lab, dalmatian...?? My sister just got a 5 month old border collie who is ADORABLE. Oh and we have a 9 month old silver tabby kitten who is a princess.
17. Good luck! I've got my fingers crossed for you. :D
18. Good luck with whatever you decide :D
19. That's a nice poem Ickle- I like it :)
20. LMAO
21. Hi Kiger :D nice to hear from you Kato is looking gorgeous as always, what a little  (you're probably gagging as I type this LOL)
22. :( You know, today in the paper there was an article about a chicken farm in the US somewhere that fed live chickens into a mulcher thing, apparently because it was easier and took less time and effort than killing them humanely. I eat meat and wear leather but all I ask for is some decency to be shown to these poor animals before they end up being my food. That applies to every sort of animal in every country.
23. LOL I wouldn't think you were crazy  Glad to hear that Zebra is recovering well!
24. Dogs really are amazing aren't they?! Well done to Laurel, treats all round!
25. So sorry to hear that Sassy has gone to the Bridge... sending loads of hugs to you at this very difficult time.
