If he is scratching at the base of his tail and stomach it could be that his anal glands need squeezed. Sometimes dogs scratch their stomachs when the glands are full as its the closest place that they can reach to relieve the itch.

swimming is great for dogs as well as being fun for us too! :D

When I take my training classes, I always tell new people and remind more advanced handlers that I am training the handler to train the dog. It is up to me to pass on advice to the handler then up to the handler in turn to pass on advice to the dog. Sending dogs away to be "trained" is in my opinion a bit of a scandal as you must bear in mind that the trainer will not be there at the dogs home to continue training. Dogs thrive on repitition and without that all those hard earned dollars that went to the trainer are basically a waste.

I am only replying in your dogs best interests. The red spots look like dermoids which are ingrown hairs. These can become irritable causing the dog to lick and scratch increasingly. Take Sassy to your vet and let him diagnose it and treat the condition.

Its not easy and some days will be better than others. I'm glad that you are giving a chance to another furbabe who will fulfill your life with as much joy as Mocha did. What actually happened to Mocha to be sent to the bridge?

It doesn't sound like you are sending mixed messages as its a form of stealing and is the same type of thing as when he would lift something from another room/on street. As for his head on the table, I would really tend to discourage my own dogs doing that as the drool is too much :lol: , but if you and your parents are ok with it then whatever you feel is right, go with that. :wink:

hey HF why don't you get them to dip their paws in ink and sign your cast with their pawprint! I did that with Meg when I dislocated my knee and had a very cool array of pawprints as well as signatures 8)

Yep dogs most certainly can have interrupted brain activity that can lead to strokes just like humans. Common symptoms are tilted head or an unbalanced gait as well as excessive drooling and agitation. These symptoms are also common with middle ear infections so ensure you get your vet to discriminate between the two as treatment is different.
