1. I've never heard of it sorry.
2. This is just unbelievable! How sick can people get?
3. congrats on your Frenchie's babies :D
4. paws crossed! Deliver your application in person and see if you can get talking to a centre manager so they know that you are eager
5. Tahts excellent that you could get the opportunity to guide the next generation of dog owners! In N.Ireland they have started a programme through the borough dog warden where kids are educated to treat dogs with respect. Kids are the best audience I find. I've done sveral canine freestyle displays with Meg at schools and they are a great audience to have. :D
6. All I can say is good luck and I hope that you manage to talk some sense into these people. Let us know how it goes.
7. The Corgi can be a snappy and dominant breed for starters. You mentioned that you were aware of the dog being aggressive with certain things, but in this scenario where she bit and followed up by a second bite in a short time later, these people should always be keeping this dog on a lead and not letting strangers pet it. The day will come when the dog through human ignorance will bite the wrong person and will end up euthanased. As a responsible citizen you should say this to these people regardless if they are your freinds or not, or another incident is sure to happen.
8. There is no way that warfarin poisoning would take 3 weeks to show up! It would be within that day of the dog swallowng it! Thats why its so important to react fast and get infusions of vitamin K into the animal and to feed it salt in order to make the animal vomit up the poison.
9. Is she spayed? If it just occurs when you have people over to your house, I would be inclined to place her in a cage where she can see the company but she will be reluctant likely to mess her own bed. You can build on moving her from the cage and building up her self-confidence and self-respect. Without seeing her body language it is hard to tell, but I am assuming that this is a submissive gesture on her behalf.
10. I seen the actual leaflets not long ago on a website which were being handed out to kids and they truly are disturbing.
11. I've seen that site before and it should really be reported. It is so isleading and buck eejits wanting to make a quick quid will be trying it which is the pathetic thing.
12. Sorry to hear that Jetta won't be keeping her little friend, but the very best of luck in finding a home for the puppy.
13. Hi there, at your dogs' age, their metabolism will be slowing down so it certainly will be more beneficial to the dogs if they are fed 2 meals a day instead of one large one. If they are happy eating the food that they are eating, then as long as it is nutritious for them, then I would be reluctant to change that factor as it would possibly upset their stomachs. What you can do though is put them onto 1 vitamin E tablet daily if thay are not already on it which will be beneficial for their heart and general muscle tone.
14. Trimming away the hair carefully is the first thing and if you want, get into a routine of bathing his eyes every morning with a saline solution of a teaspoon of salt in a pint of luke-warm water. Handle him a lot all over his body from his ears to his toes, so that he isn't shell-shocked when he goes to a groomer. In response to the low-drying, most use a dog dryer where the dog is put into a cage type thing and warm air is blown over him, then he is finished off with a hair-dryer.
15. I'm truly amazed in one sense that there is such a thing. At the same time having someone run after him all day won't help him when he gets home. Its at home where the real training is done and its the training that is the utmost responsible character for building a bond.
16. its either reinforce the fence or maybe think about a stronger galvanised metal pen? They do love to keep us on our toes
17. Well to me the owner was at fault. The dog should have been on a leash and as a result suffered through ignorance. With so much bad publicity about pitbull terriers she should be helping her chosen breed responsibly and that means putting a lead on it and keeping it under control. The same could have happened with any other breed of course but not many other breeds have as bad publicity as pitties and it is up to the pit owners to help the breeds reputation.
18. Ensure that she pees and poops before entering the surgery!
19. can we say irresponsible ?
20. Hes a very handsome boy but he possibly may have pit in him looking at his bone structure. Who cares! Hes lovely!
21. What a total plonker
22. It sounds like it was a great day! Well done :D
23. They are a breed that isn't very common but I wouldn't say that they are a rare breed. I've met quite a few including one that I had the pleasure of showing called Dexter. They are more commonly known as Dogue de Bordeaux however.
24. shes a really sweet puppy. Maybe Jetta needs a friend for keeps
