oh poor little Chico! hugs going Chico's way

From the sounds of her behaviour, it sounds like she is testing and challenging you. I wouldn't give her any privilige for now of being off-lead even in the garden. I don't think much of prongs or chokes and I know that its always a debate as so many people speak highly of them but the way that I conduct my behavioural sessions with probblem dogs is by tackling the root of the problem and controlling the problem through the owner and not with the aid of a fancy collar. Get her onto a flat nylon collar and normal lead and if she pulls, then give her a good yank back and let her know that you will not tolerate it. When she stops pulling then reward her. If you want her to have an extra run, then get her onto a flexi lead and keep her on that so she gets no freedom priviliges for a few months off-lead. This might sound harsh but I can tell you that it does work and its what I would advise for clients who have similar problems. Also while she is on the lead do lots of recall work. As for the aggression, holler at her if she even lifts her lip and let her know exactly who is boss. She is a dominant bitch from the sounds of it and in adolescence so she needs to be reminded where her place is in your house or you are going to find that this problem will escalate into something beyond control. Good luck and keep persevering.

You're her guardian angel HF and probably she is yours too given the circumstances. You will love that exuberance! :D

Have fun, drive safe and can't wait to see Peaches! (P.S my first hamster was called Peaches :P ).

sounds like a great idea. I have a recipe somewhere (I think in N.Ireland!) for liver cake which all dogs love. I haven't seen one refuse it yet. Have fun with your picnic and don't forget the camera!

Irony at its greatest! I would certainly be having a word with that woman and telling her straight up that she is kncoking years off her dogs life with every kg it puts on. -
hey DP, yep Meg has done it with glass at the park on a few occasions. It really annoys me the way yobs chuck glass bottles  Any time that its been done, I check it thoroughly to make sure there is no glass left in it then clean it with saline and cover it for a day with a vetwrap bandage and a sock! Highly fashionable

Great fun! :D

Let the kitty sulk it out and she will come to accept the pup. Alternatively you could do what I do with my lot and any fosters that I get.. Throw them all in together and if they dare snap they won't do it again when they get yelled at.

aww Nea I'm sorry to hear you lost your little friend.*big hugs*

Meg is bred from a bitch and dog that are unrelated. One dog is a scottish working trials champion and her Mum is an Irish working bitch champion. However in her 5 generation pedigree she has some of the best working trial dogs that the world has ever seen including the wonderful International supreme champion Wisp from Bobby Dalziel.

Dogs with epilepsy can lead just a good quality of life an a non-epileptic dog. What medication has the vet put Re-Run on? I know its worrying for you but just monitor him and the medication will more than likely keep the seizures at bay.

Meg is the type of dog that is just a good all-rounder and will try her charm on any type of people!

If its a new baby then do gradual introductions. Always supervise the dog and kid and never evr leave a dog and baby alone no matter how certain you are of your dogs temperament. Don't let the dog sleep in the same room as the baby either and make sure that the dog doesn't get ignored and give him some free time away from the baby. The baby is a higher member in your house than the dog therefore feed the baby before the dog if they are fed in the same room, (i.e. kitchen). Thats just a few points quickly but if you need anything specific give s a howl.

Best wishes going to Candy

I know its a bit difficult to do but as soon as you see one to go eat it, grab the puppy away and deter him. It can become a rather obsessive disorder that they have likely learned if they weren't given enough food/lower quality in their very early days. Also adding pineapple or sprinking grapefruit directly onto the poo should deter them.
