Waiting has got to be the hardest thing ever! Hopefully they will let you know and keep on at them if you don't hear back again soon

A simple op like a neuter has no room for mistakes in my opinion. I was neutering with supervision when I was 17 at the practice where I worked! Still its good that the vet did own up and that you weren't charged, but most importantly of course is that Scout is healthy and well.

I can't believe that a magazine like "People" wouldn't do their research first on this situation!

What a clever baby! :D

Hey Mouse, its definitely a 2 person job with a wiggly puppy. Approach her from behind. Hold her in between your knees on the floor and give her a treat (something crunchy or chewy to keep her occupied). Have the drops ready and drop them in from above so that she can't see the tube. Good luck!

Aww poor Zebra. I would imagine that its the ketchup giving him a jippy tummy rather than the foil. Give him the rest of today and if you still don't see any sign of the foil then you may be better taking him to the vet for a quick check up.

Thats so interesting that not all classes at shows run the same way around the world! Thanks for educating me  Mum and babies are looking very well :D

Today at the dog school we had exams from the puppy courses, basic and advanced behaviour. The puppy owners were amazing and gave lots of encouragement. In one of my puppy classes there is a girl of about 16/17 and she can't walk so she rides a scooter. She has an adorable little crossbred yorkie/maltese called Iris and she puts in so much effort. When she first got the pup some horrid nasty people at another dog school told her she wasn't capable of having a dog  . It gave me the greatest pleasure this morning to pass her and hand her the certificate. She scored the highest from both groups and she was in absolute floods of tears and so so very proud at how her little dog had done. She puts in so much effort and some exercises were adapted so that she could complete them with the aid of her scooter. That made me realise just how worthwhile taking these courses actually is. and i don't mind saying, I was also in tears. I was so happy for her. :D In the advanced behavioural group again many owners had great relationships with their dogs but one in particular with a yellow lab just made excuse after excuse from the grass was wet so he couldn't lie down and hes not listening to me so i'm going to not do the test. Needless to say she failed and again there were tears...of a different kind. She wants so desperately to start my obedience class that I am starting next week and after a bit of a talk with her that she would have to put in more effort..I relented and let her sign up. I start giving obedience classes next week and we have had such a great response that I have to had to make two classes and the variety of breeds is just wonderful..BC's of course, drenthse patrijs, kooikerhondje, flat coat retriever, labs, american staff, english staff, howavart, entlebucher sennenhund! Its so interesting to see the variety of breeds here compared to the UK. Exciting times are ahead! :D

The little dogs always are more worried when it comes to injuries. From what I've seen in the vets, they really do tend to play on it a lot causing their owner to be concerned that "Fred" has a broken paw. Glad that Diego hasn't got any breaks and just take it nice and easy with him

Firstly RUN from that vet! Sutures have developed so much now from catgut to vicryl and they don't become loose especially not internal sutures. Incompetence on the part of the vet from not properly tying a vessel like the vas deferens, is not acceptable. A neuter is the easiest op that a vet can do! I find this highly suspicious with a dog recovering in a cage from a simple neuter.

Star sorry I've only just come back from the dog school! If he ate the foil and all then the chances are that Zebra will pass it all ok. There are no sharp edges to rupture any internal organs along the digestive tract. So my advice: Get a stick and every time that Zebra poops, have a good hoke around. If he shows any signs of lethargy or loss of appetite, abdomen guarding (where his tummy is hunched up and he has a bowed head) then straight to the vets. If also he hasn't passed it within 24-36 hours you may be safer taking him to a vets, but I honestly think he will pass it ok.
-
Keep an eye on her as it can be the first sign that all is not well. She may have a polyp on or near her larynx, so of course in any doubt its a trip to the vet!

Thats great to hear that you went to the vet for a diagnosis. Enjoy your puppy

Can I be a pain in the buttocks and ask another question? :D I like being educated! Ok so here in UK we have 3 (sometimes 4 with the Laekenois) classes for each of the BSD's. In the US are they all lumped into one group and shown in the same classes as each other? i.e- tervs, groens, mals in one breed class against each other ?
-
In the UK you don't need a license for breeding as such, but you do need a license to breed with a prefix or affix for your kennels.

Ensure that your puppy is wormed as worms can contribute to hiccupping

he has a wonderfully wise charismatic look in his eyes. I hope he gets a good home.

What a relief! :D
