ok how do we go about contacting the people at Oprah?

If she is peeing upstairs, don't let her come upstairs with you for now. Have a regular routine as the others have said and praise her lavishly using a command word when she eliminates outside. Use a crate/leash her to a radiator/something sturdy when you go upstairs momentarily so that she can't follow and pee, then when she is not having accidents in the house try after 2 week or so and allow her the privilige of coming up with you. She has somehow got some inadvertent signal by the sounds of it that when she follows you it is acceptable for her to pee so its a matter of going back to basics for now. Good luck

Personally I just see them being more physically typed to the original GSD before intervention for showing.

Holy feck! Thats just insane what they are doing with those kitties :o

Your position right now sounds a llittle unstable with regards to your immediate future and getting a dog. Also when I see demand lists like this it rings alarm bells in my head, so I would recommend you to research but firstly to think about your immediate future and not rush into anything.
-
first of all I think the dog looks freaky but then again I think that all dogs should be dogs with fur. i'm not keen on chinese/mexican crested and other hairless breeds, (no offence to those who have the breeds but we are all entitled to our own opinions  ). secondly going on the basis that this dog was a mishap and not an intentional breeding is why people are not rip raging about it.
-
I agree that 6 is usually a good yardstick age to use for ceasing breeding. After that the dog is classed as a senior and mitigating unforseen health problems could result in a bitch losing her puppies or producing puppies that are compromising the bitches health as well as their own.

another case of irresponsible "adults" resulting in a kid getting mauled. This could well have been avoided. -
whoa glad that the outome was a good one :o

great idea to send an article to a rival magazine. Did the People article even say that they had near 25,000 signatures or did they "neglect" to mention that  By printing a few letters it just looks like they only had minor reactions to the article.

thats good news that you got it taken off! what was the treat? I'm curious :P

How much hair can one German Shepherd shed..
imported_Kat replied to Sharpeigirl's topic in German Shepherd Dogs
I can remember at the vets surgery we used to groom these persians and ragdolls for a woman who had bad arthristis in her hands and couldn't handle them. We had to keep the fur each time as her sister would then spin the fur into scarfs and hats and send them to people in 3rd world countries for winter. A nice idea I thought  -
Psychiatric treatment for woman who breastfed puppy

she sounds psychologically disturbed. the story was on tv here 2 days ago and it sounds very suspect that she went to get media coverage. -
Desensitisation is usually the best route to take. Leave her in the room where she was scared with plenty of toys and leave her a few seconds before going back. Don't make a huge fuss, just simply open the door and walk away from her. Keep doing this and building up the time. The important thing to do is not to reinforce the fear by molly-coddling her and praising her lavishly when she has been in the room.
-
with zoe if she is being fussy with her dinner we tell her that she better hurry up and eat it or the pussies will come and get. I have to say with Meg I don't because she is good in all ways. yeah maybe that sounds a bit corny but she tries so hard to please that I just never have any reason to threaten her! With Caelidh the bitch I'm training at the moment, I threaten that I will de-bark her

the link works for me Mutts :-? These people sound really irresponsible... I hope that blue eyes finds a better home
-
Oh geeze thats awful to hear that they are going to give up on this puppy! She is so beautiful and I can't believe that she would hae a hard time in finding a home.
