It just never gets easier losing an animal and all we can do is to give a home to another deserving critter that will fulfil our lives with excitement and love.

Great photo. Jesse is just stunning and distinguished is the word I always think of when I see photos of him

A little reverse psychology can go a long way! Poms are wee devils and that irritating bark would drive you insane judging by the 3 that my Boss' partner had at the practice. They love getting in the last word so I think that trying to beat them at their own game may just be effective. Good luck :D

That totally sucks! I hope you can get it sorted but it may be an idea to gather all the dog owners in the neighbourhood together and put in a big protest. These Home owner people sound as if they are all mouth or do they actually do anything constructive?

Same here Mouse. We always said at the practice 12-13 weeks after the bitch has finished her heat.

Ozzy has gone to stay with..

Are all the dogs going to live outside now? As long as Ozzy is happy with the move but it seems a bit harsh in my mind to move a dog that is settled. Hopefully he will have as much fun and walks with your sister. -
arghhh I posted the C word and lost my post! I'm not into keeping ashes and so forth. To me the memories are the best thing to treasure and with any kitty that I have lost I have kept the collar and disc.

lol and what a lovely official title she has for a lovely job  :P

He looks like a cross bred Great Dane! I hope you have a big house
-
I would have to say that he is no way a full bred sheltie. He looks like a sheltie x Border collie or Rough collie. However breed doesn't matter  For the tail chsing its fine if he is just chasing as a game, but if he is actualy biting at his tail then it may be an idea to get his anal glands checked out in case they are full and need emptied.

very good job
-
define "intelligence" before trying to attempt to differentiate between the 2 breeds... its a misused word when it comes to dogs.

Bill 132 Protest Walk this Sunday!

Good luck gang! -
Thats an interesting problem indeed. I would do some desensitisation work with her. Put her on her lead and teach her to sit and keep her attention on you . Stand outside the kitchen and use a treat for bait so that you become very interesting. Get your husband or someone else to close the door of the kitchen so that the noise of the beep will be dulled. When she has her attention on you throughout the beep praise her and treat her. Its important however not to praise her if she starts getting silly and anxious as this will only reinforce the fear. When she has kept her attention on you progress to opening the kitchen door and further after that to having her sit beside the timer. Something has obviously happened in the past where she now associates a beep with something bad about to happen. Its your task to turn this around so that when she hears a beep, something good will happen like getting praised with a treat. Good luck

works for me and looks dandy for a quick browse that I had

lol an old classic but always makes me laugh

Really nice pics. Just do a lot of handling with your dogs around their face and feet etc to try and desensitise them to touch, and hopefully next grooming session will be less eventful

Both of you enjoy your holiday. Abby will be in great hands I'm sure
-
wow those photos are just priceless at their age!

It certainly sounds as if she is in heat. keep her on a lead at all times and wait for 3 months until you get her spayed.

Geeze I so know what you mean :o When I was petsitting the 2 usually placid wolfhounds last November and heard them barking wild fury in the early hours of the morning, I was sh*t scared. That turned into full blown petrified when i actually came face to face with the guy that was trying to break in!! :o If it hadn't been for those dogs barking he would have been in the house and likely murdered me in my bed! Even now I can't sleep soundly on my own.

Get tough with him DAL. Poms are stubborn wee sods from what I have seen. My boss' partner had 3 over the years and they need a firm hand. Use the attachment band idea but yell at him as well. If he isn't responding to anything else then give him a good verbal thrashing if you catch him lifting his leg and take him straight outside. when he pees in the right place tell him hes good but when he does it inside make sure he knows that you are angry with him. he has been with you long enough now to have settled and is just taking advantage of the situation by the sounds of it.

looks like an affen pinscher mix!

Good luck with your pup. Therapy work is great fun and so rewarding to do.
