1. You rarely get a cash reward out of junior handling especially in Obedience and agility. The reward that you get is increasing the bond between you and your dog along with having great fun.
2. Your best bet would be to talk to K for Bully info
3. so sad but I would say its a safety measure that is extreme but necessary :(
4. Happy belated Birthday! :bday:
5. That site is very cool! Just love the BC
6. There are certainly lots of medication and therapy solutions on the market . You may be best to seek a professional opinion from a vet who specialises in orthopaedics, because 8 is really not old at all. my BC Meg is 8 years old and still attacking agility and obedience with great gusto and smaller dogs are generally longer-living than medium and large breeds.
7. ooh excitement is building! Can't wait to see pics of the new pupper! :D
8. Happy Birthday Pups! :bday: :bday:
9. He really is very sweet looking Nay and I hope you have many years of happiness with him
10. It sounds like you are having a great start and enjoying it which is the main thing
11. wow what total incompetence :o You should definitely report the groomer and at least have a refund!
12. Izzy my heart goes out to you and your wife. I am so very very sorry :(
13. aha but then again thats one instance where the BIS was fixed. Mick (Ch. Torums scarf Michael) snapped at the judge during the examination and by KC rules should have been eliminated for showing aggression, but it was described as the dog having "terrier spirit"
14. Louis Dobermann was responsible for creating the Dobe in Germany (spelt like that from what I have known) which I'm sure all Dobe fanatics know. In Europe Doberman is spelt with one "n" like in America which is a shame that the true name of the dog was changed. Great pics by the way
15. Its good that you can laugh about it hehe
16. doh I don't get it here on Animal Planet but i have to argue and say that the most prestigious title in dog show history has been well documented to be the Crufts Best in Show where dogs compete against over 20,000 dogs to get the coveted title and the supreme champion title.
17. A little yeah but then again collie x spaniel types in black and white colours are very common, so finding a resemblace isn't totally strange.
18. The 150 champions could easily have come from generations of dogs that her dogs may have sired. Yes some show people do overbreed and there was a classic case in the UK a few years back when a Crufts judge was found in possession of over 80 dogs and additionally cruelty charges were made against her. In the UK dogs who are shown that fall into working/pastoral/gundog groups do better if they have working ability therefore a nick or cut from the dog being caught on gorse etc will be taken into account, but it will not go against the dog when judging its appearance. This is the story of the Gatheral case:
Top Crufts judge Caroline Gatheral has been convicted of causing unnecessary suffering to 83 dogs at her home in County Durham. Gatheral, 65, who judged this year
19. You would be best to get some professional intervention from a canine behaviourist. In the interest of the family's safety I wouldn't even attempt to suggest solutions possible for an aggressive dog like this.
20. It was sent back in October  Wonder what he got for his "sweetheart" :P
21. happy Birthday Cody! :bday:
22. I'm so sorry for your loss of Gemma :(
23. Its known worldwide but i prefer to use my voice. In my experience from teaching classes, handlers don't enforce the clicker very well. Also in the lower classes for obedience you can't carry a clicker into the ring with you, but you are allowed to use your voice therefore I see it as an overall better option. Most Champ handlers that I know have trained using their voice as means of motivation.
24. Nuts and pulses and fruits like raisins and their deriviatives have so far been classified as being toxic. A friend of mine on another board just lost her 4 yr old Border collie to kidney failure following him stealing a 250g bag of raisins. Its so sad :( Dried apples and apricots as far as I know haven't been reported as being dangerous but currently the veterinary hospital of Glasgow university is doing a lot of research into foods that are toxic to dogs.
25. Izzy I am so sorry to hear this news. Thoughts are with you and your family at this hard time :(
