I can definitely empathise! Phoenix got out yesterday when my wee nephew left the door open. Luckily though he would sell his soul for a kitty treat and a quick shake of the box and he was back inside
Great post! I would never have a small dog, although the exception may be a Boston terrier I will admit, but on average a sheltie is the smallest I would go!
Whoa thats a really huge bill! Your dogs will be more than content being in their own home surroundings. Just remember to get someone reliable and honest that has insurance through an agency.
Its an alkaloid called theobromine that causes the toxicity as dogs and other animals can't break this compund down as quickly or effectively as humans. Its like caffeine in structure but more dangerous as it acts as a heart stimulant through the release of adrenaline which causes severe tacchycardia (increased heart rate).
This is from a guy on another doggy board that I'm on. Its one that I have seen before but it always makes me smile :D

Nice reminder at Christmas time Mouse. The worst case I ever saw was a 16 week old German shorthaired pointer called Ludwig who had a few chocolate buttons fed by the 3 year old kid. Poor ludwig was a very sick little puppy with a temp of 106 and was constantly vomitting and having diarrhoea. I condemn dogs getting chocolate totally!
