1. Zebra (german shepherd/golden mix) does that too...especally when he wants food. :P
2. A while back Zebra had a small lump on his left side near his ribs. It was small at first but it got bigger and it worried me allot. So we took him to the vet and he looked at it and all it turned out to be was some pus and blood, just a small infection and all they did was drain it. No biggie but Zebra wasn't that happy. But fingers and paws crossed here that everything goes well at the vets.
3. I took zebra to classes and we are thinking about taking a "refresher" course. I mainly took zebra to training is because he was my frist dog and I had no idea how to handle one. The other reasons are that: I realy liked the trainer and thought she was realy good, and Zebra had some dominace "issues" that I had trouble with. But I basically think that classes are for teaching the people, not so much the dog. You teach the owner how to train the dog and how to interact with them. I also loved going to training because if I would have just trained Zebra at home there were things that I was doing wrong that no one noticed, for example I was rather timid when giving orders to Zerba, I would say "Sit?" instead of "SIT." and knowing how to control my voice helped 100%. I would not have known that if I didn't go to training. Classes are also great for socalization in a "controlled" environmet. And trainers (at least mine anyways) acted like a saftey net in case things got a little out of control.

Neutering Age?

Although I don't think dogs should be neutered/spayed at a very young age, Zebra was neutered at 10 weeks. Since we adopted him there was nothing we could do about it because it was policy that all dogs had to be fixed before given over to there owners. Even though he was neutered at a very young age I have not noticed any problems with him. And recovery for him was....well...i mean he was perfect after the surgery, just being his puppy self.
5. Oh yeah puppies!! I'm sorry about pup #2 :( . Keep us updated on mom and babies progress!
6. Good thoughts comming your way. Fingers and paws crossed that this guy gets what he deserves!
7. :o :( Oh what a horrible woman!! I can't believe anyone would do such a low down dirty thing! I hope you find the dog. Good luck!
8. Well Zebra finally manages to tear a little hole in the wing of the duck but since there is no stuffing he didn't bother ripping it up anymore. Now he just carries it around the house and sleeps on it like a little pillow.  But I guess since he can't rip up his toy he decided to rip some holes in the new orthopedic bed that my mom just bought for him on friday! :x I already had to sew it 4 times!! :-?
9. Oh how horrible!! I can't belive these people!!! :x Thank goodness that the foster mom came down! I can't belive that the police took her away even though you had the papers to prove that she was yours! Stupid police! Poor Laurel...I hope she isn't tramatized because she had to go to the pound. :( Give her a big hug for me.
10. Mutts- I have seen that dog Skidboot on the oprah show before  . That dog is amazing! The guy who owns him said that he never realy had to train him that much, that the guy would sit and then the dog would. Like the dog knew what the owner wanted him to do. I think the owner described the dog as an old cowboy inside of a dogs body. :P
11. Great post Gooey, I was going to say the same thing but you got to it first. Sharpei- I'm so sorry that this happend but I'm happy that she is alive and nothing worse happend. Just try to take care of yourself right now and get rest and all that stuff. I'm keeping you and sassy in my thoughts.
12. Oh forgot----dosn't the first one look like an Ewok from Star Wars?
13. I'm in LOVE! :loveu: :iloveyou: :iloveyou: :loveu: I love them, the are soo cute! And coutnek your absolutly right, angora's are never to be hurt or killed for there fur..that is a BIG no no. Ya just brush them and the hair comes out naturally. But they do need to be brushed EVERY DAY. ANd you have to be careful because they can get hairballs very easily and die (they can't throw up hairballs like cats and dogs could). I've seen a woman on tv who had a bunch of angora's and made sweaters, scarves and hats out of there fur. Very beautiful and VERY soft. :P :krolik:
14. Zebra has a new toy. It's a toy mallard/duck and I think he is in love with it! :o Today we took him to petsmart and my mom saw this stuffed toy and wanted to get it for him. I am very weary about getting him stuffed toys because he always rips them apart and pulls out the sqeaker and all the stuffing and it's just a BIG mess. Well the tag on this toy said "no cheap stuffing"....well that caught my attention. The toy don't have ANY stuffing it's just 2 thick peices of fabric sewn together. and in the top you put a squeaker in it and you can replace it if it gets lost, chewed up or anything. ....well we bought it for Zebra. We got home at 6pm and I gave him the toy....it is now 1:30am and he is still playing with it!!! The ONLY time he put the toy down was to go pee and when he fell asleep. And even when he fell asleep he slept on top of it. This is an amazing toy..it keeps his attention and makes him think (he kept trying to get the squeaker out then I put a tennis ball inside and he tried to get that out!).  I love this thing! Zebra is a heavy heavy heavy chewer and this has last almost 9 hours of agressive chewing! I am truly amazed! Here is what it looks like (we have the large duck): http://www.sitstay.com/store/toys/soft1.shtml
15. I don't watch that show. I can't stand it actually. But the one thing i relize is that these "judges" are usually low class celebs. They probably don't know what to look for in judging these animals. They just go on what they think is "cute" instead of actually talent or training.
16. Oh no! :( Sharpei I'm so sorry. Fingers and paws crossed here for you and Sassy! Keep us updated, we are here for you.

Dry feet

I noticed the other day that the pads on zebra's feet were very dry and ruff. Is that normal? I mean I know they arn't suppose to be as soft as a baby's bum or anything but I'm worried that if they get dry they might crack. And I also notived that the pads of his feet are scaley, is that normal? And some of these "scales" are warn down while others are growing and getting bigger/longer. Does that make any sense or am I absolutly mad? So is there anyting I can put on his pads to make them softer?
18. :(
19. This post was written by DAL. She asked me to post it for her because she can't get onto dogo. Thank you Shara and Starfox..... I'm not coming back. I just HAD to "educate" you guys on a few things, after convincing from Shara, Startfox and K... So i will post this and then i will leave, and when i feel i am ready, IF i am ever ready to come back on here then i will... chances are very slim. but. I have to get this off my chest. I'm a very sensitive person, and take to heart everything that everyone one says. and what you all said hurt me so back i broke down in tears and cried for a good 30 mins.. I was not meaning that my dogs by *ANY* means are aggressive or mean. they would *NEVER* attack or hurt anyone... Here are some things you *DO NOT* understand about Deaf dogs.. seeing as though YOU do not *OWN* one, and Cody is *MY DOG* not yours... Deaf dogs can be more protective then the regular hearing dog. Cody is much more protective of me and my hsuband then Zoey is. and Zoey is a rottie, the one you'd think would be protective. Cody sleeps between me and the door when my husband is gone, and when he's home he sleeps at my feet, on my side of the bed on the floor, or at the top of the stairs. When we are in the house he stands between me and the person who comes in, he has to ok them in order for them to touch me in anyway. when we are out in public he is not nearly as bad he just wants attention. Cody *CAN HEAR* some things ( certain pitches) he can hear Zoey bark when the bell rings and he can sometimes hear other dogs barking, he can feel the vibrations on the floor and when someone knocks onthe door. He can sense stuff before Zoey hears it or anyone else. he'll start barking and going crazy and Zoey looks at him like " wtf are you doing?" and my husband and i laugh and are liek what is going on? then we will here someone at the door , or a car with loud music drive by. Cody and i have a*VER VERY* special bond that no one will ever be able to break OR replace. he knows what i want from him before i even sign it to him. he looks at me and can tell how i am and whats wrong and when it's the right time to just plop in my lap or sit next to my and look at me out of the corner of his eye. It has been noted many times that Deaf Dogs can be great protectors and have a stong urge to protect. as what was going on here. you guys can say all you want for iwill not be here to read the negative and if there is any possitive i'm sure Star or shara or K will let me know. I just had to let you knows know that, and show you didn't get the better of me. you just dont understand Cody or deaf dogs and their personalities nor do you know Zoey's at that.. that's my input... shara, Starfox, K if you could let me know if someone says something nice id appreciate it just drop me a line or something!!
20. Just putting my 2 cents in--- I don't think Dal meant Guard dogs as some vicious dogs that would attack anyone they see. And the fact is that Dal has a deaf dog, deaf dogs can be more protective than dogs that can hear. And who knows what the dogs sensed in that man. Because what would of happend if she didn't have thoes dogs? For all we know this guy could have been some rapist! I think that some of you might forget is that DAL's husband is away, and I know that being alone or living alone can kind of be, well scary. And it is nice to know that you have some sort of protection just in case something happens. And to be perfectly honest I think some of you were kinda...rude. DAL is not dumb, or stupid. She would not let her dogs attack anyone or hurt anyone. I in no way think that her dogs are vicious or mean, DAL takes them to training and socalizes them. I think DAL is a great mommy to her dogs and I wish more people would care for there dogs like she does. Well that's my 2 cents.
21. God! What do these people think? That we are blind, deaf and dumb?! I can't belive the gall of these people! :x
22. :( I begged and pleaded with her too. I'm so sad that we are loosing such a great member. And even thought I'm sad about her leaving and wish she would stay I understand why she wants to leave. Bye DAL I'll miss you, Cody and Zoe.
23. Aw well look what a little searching at Yahoo found. The offical Ocherese web-page. :x http://dogs.spinweb.net/
24. I realy don't think Brinnies_Ma is the breeder of these dogs. The title of this post is "What the??????" like she is just as confused as we are about this breeding. As for whoever is breeding these dogs i would like to thank you for adding to the problem of shelter overpopulation. Thank you soo much for putting more dogs in the shelters so that people like us have to take care of because you are soo irresonsible.
