I was cleaning the kitchen today and we have a cabinet that we keep our china in and I was cleaning under it and guess what I found? Zebras Kong that I thought I lost 3 months ago. It was furry!!! :o It had hair all over it. And the worst part of it was that I guess Zebra knocked it under there before he ate any of the treats out of it. It was full of 3 month old liver treats and snausages!(I need a little barf smiley here) :o It took me 15 mins.,a pair of pliers and a knife to get all the stale treats out of it. Oh we do clean the kitchen more then every 3 months. I just never clean under the cabinet.

Just a little Zebra update for everyone. Today we took him for his last check-up so the doc could see how his hip was healing. When we got int he waiting room there was a realy beautiful Saint! But he/she was kinda on the small size...the Saint was bearly taller then Zebra! So the Doc took Zebra and we waited and while waiting I meet my first Black GSD!!! :D He was soooo beautiful I was in love! But the poor thing couldn't use it's back legs at all, he just kept dragging his legs behind him, it was so sad. They finally called us in to see Zebra x-rays, and guess what?! He's perfect!!!! Well at least his right hip is! The doc said "Well the bad news is that you won't like me after he has his two other operations.". I asked him why and the doc said that Zebra is going to be "twice as strong". :o :-? I realy can't imagine Zebra TWICE as strong as he is now. But the bad thing is that the Doc wanted to scedual both of his other opperations in 2-3 weeks. That would cost app. 8,000!!! And we just don't have that kinda money. So we are going to put it off untill May. I swear I'm going to start calling him the 6 Million dollar dog! I could buy a car with the money we are spending on him. Anyways I just wanted to tell everyone that Zebra is doing great. He dosn't fall anymore when he runs. He don't "bunny hop". And he sits perfect now, and dosn't favor one hip over the other. He is a very happy dog. :P

Sounds to me like this dog is a product of bad training or no training at all. Actually this dog sounds a heck of allot like my dog. Zebra did the exact same thing, steal klenex, paper towels, or anything that he sholdn't have and when we would try to take it away from him he would growel, snap at our hands. But after TONS of training, he is fine with me taking things away from him. But in this case it dosn't seem that these people want to invest alot of time or energy on training him. "If I could not be trained professionally, I wanted no part of it..." It also sounds like the wife is almost scared of this dog. And another problem is that this dog wants to be alpha all the time. And she even said that the dog dosn't see her as alpha. And that is a BIG no no! Both of them have to be alpha all the time. "he knows that I am not alfa, he knows hubby is... I never take things from the dog, I am the giver, hubby is the taker... " And I agree with the previous posts that people wrote, that the dog was protecting himself because he knew that he was going to get sprayed in the face with bitter apple. In my opinion these people have 2 choices; rehome the dog with someone who has experience with alpha/agressive dogs or, they can take the time themselves and not only train there dog how to behave but train themselves so that the dog will respect them. I think the owners have allot more to learn then the dog.

Oh I thought I was going mad! I was half asleep when I thought I heard a comercial for that program. It kinda sounds like they are going to glamorize it and make it sounds like Designer breeds are good. :x I swear I'm going to write a letter to them if I don't like what I see.

Uh...why do I always look?! Thoes Boxers are so sickly looking and the don't even look anything like what a Boxer pup is suppose to look like. But I did have to laugh out loud. Did anyone see the "Kennel Vet- Dr.Bellows"? Yea right like they would spend one penny on a vet. He's probably some moron that read a book about dogs and health and said he was a vet. And why do they have pictures of a house under his name? What are they trying to say, Look how much money we have?!

Jeff- Oh yea I know where that is! Our trainer told us about it but she called it something eles, although I can't remember. Hazel, Court- Either of you wanna trade? It was 72 here today. To hot for my taste.
-
Oh Rowie I'm so sorry! Give her a hug for me! This "man" (I use that term lightly because no real man would have to kick a dog) is a total moron. I agree with Hmmmm, you should go threw the contract with your parents and see if there is anything that says if he steps out of line then his contract would be void. The sad thing is, if he did this right in front of you then he probably does it when your not around. :x This moron needs to stay away from Rowie.

Zebra is a year and a half and has never lifted his leg(thank dog!). He was neutered at app. 3 months. Just out of curiousity how are your dogs hips? I think that's another reason Zebra never lifted his leg, his hips are so bad.

*breathes a sigh of relief* I'm not insane! I thought it probably had to do something with the dogs body temp but I just wasn't sure. Jeff- I'm about 5 miles outside of Pasadena. Runyon Canyon? Nope don't think i've ever been there. Where is it located.
StarFox... LOL your just insane!!
Gee thanks!

Oh where to start..Ok about a month ago I noticed that I could see Zebra's breath. Just like you can see your own when it's cold outside. Except I could see his breath INSIDE! :o Ok it does NOT get that cold in my house! I live in Los Angeles for crying out loud, it bearly rains here! I would say that the house is anywhere from 60-70 degreese at night. At first I thought I was seeing things then my dad and my mom saw it too. It's not that cold in my own house that his breath could be seen! So what is it? Am i just going insane, i'm starting to think so.

You probabaly know what I'm going to say already because I told you earlier tonight. Your a great owner and cody is a very smart dog. You'll get threw this because you won't give up and that is the most important thing. And you know that it's not impossible for cody to be around other dogs because you have zoey. Just take your time and don't be so hard on yourself.

Wow that is such great news! Sounds like he fits in perfectly. keep up the good work. :P -
Zebra did the cutest thing today! While I was making dinner and cutting up some vegtables I cut my finger and it hurt like you wouldn't belive. So I washed all the blood away. Zebra comes running up to me because I yelped in pain when I cut myself. So I think what the heck and I show him my cut finger and told he I had an "owie". (Ok I KNOW I;m a total dork for doing that! ) Anyways he whined and started to lick the cut! At first I was totally grossed out because he had licked my cut and I had to wash it out all over again. But then I thought it was cute because he kept sniffing at my hand after I put a bandaid on, and kept trying to lick it. I heard that sometimes dogs lick other dogs when they have injuries, so would he be doing the same thing? :-? Either way it was cute because he seemed so worried about me.

Hey welcome back Naomi! :P Was wondering when you were gunna get back. So glad to hear that cody did so well with all the other dogs, sounds like he made allot of progress!
-
WooHoo! Sounds like you and hubby did a great job! I'm so glad that he has impoved!! :P

Oh congrats on your new family member!!! :P And yes we do need pics. You know how we are with pictures...we need them all the time! It's an addiction you know. :drinking:

He isn't pooping blood or anything right? I know zebra was pooping blood after we gave him some turkey (no bones) and we gave him white rice and baby food. he was ok but the turkey had irritated his GI tract. And Zebra was a counter surfer too, but we quickly solved that problem. We put 2 baking sheets (like the kind you use for cookies or muffins) haphazardly on the table and put a treat just far enought away so he would put his paws on the table to get it. Thust causing the pans to fall. It scared the beans out of him and he hasn't done it since.
-
I have 2 of zebra's baby teeth too. I keep them in a little pewter jar that says, baby's first teeth.  And you have to ask if we want to see pics?! :o You should know by now that we live off pictures!!
-
Oh court I hope that your and your son are safe!! Do you know anyone who could have a..."talk" with him? Oh say the Mafia!

We were seriously thinking about getting pet insurance when we first found out that Zebra had HD. BUT then we found out that most, if not all pet insurance don't cover genetic deseases like HD. So we are just paying off all the vet bills ourselves. And if your pet as a medical condition before you get the insurance they won't cover any of the future medical bills for that specific condition.

Jack Russell Terrier This pint-sized explorer is the Magellan of the canine world. Always ready for adventure, the Jack Russell Terrier is known to wander off at a moment's notice. Her life is never dull, and entertainment is key. Accepting in nature, she makes friends easily and is usually the center of attention wherever she goes. Her high energy and upbeat personality make the Jack Russell Terrier a fun-loving part of any family. Hmm well most of that is true. Except for being the center of attention.

Sorry to hear about Paisley, but I'm sure she is having a blast with Max at the Bridge. And Cournek is right, that supid woman will get hers. Hopefully someone will put her down. :evilbat:
