1. Oh man I so wish you were the person who did home check for the Golden Retriver rescue here. Maybe then my stupid freind wouldn't have gotten that beautiful GR that her family treats like trash. I realy have no idea how any rescue could have given the OK on her family. :(
2.
I'm pretty sure all dogs with backs as sloped like that have HD :( .
I actually don't think rowie is 100% wrong w/ this statement. So many "breeders" in america breed for the sloped back and the looks not for the health. And I do think that is part of the reason that GSD have such a high case of HD. GDS come in only after Goldens with the highest cases of HD. :(
3. I always had a "healthy" fear of dogs...ok it wasn't healthy at all. I was deathly afraid of dogs...in fact I was afraid of all animals!! But then when I was about 12 my grandfather found a stray puppy one day on our property (they lived in the back house we lived in the front house). He was a GSD mix and coul have only been 2 or 3 months old at the most. He was a very smart pup and I begged and begged my parents to let me keep him. I wanted him soo badly..I named him Rex (yea real original  ) and we kept him for 2 days untill my parents decided that we could NOT keep him because they worked all day and I went to school all day. I was devistated that we couldn't keep him. We gave him to my aunts white trash father (sorry but he is) and the last I heard of him was that he had gotten HUGE and his new name was Ceaser. He was the first dog that I wasn't afraid of and even as a pup he was very smart. He would sit when I told him and would follow me everywere. It makes me so sad every time I think about him. Well that was when I was 12.....fast forward to age 19 and that's when I finally had enough money and time to get a dog and I got Zebra even though my dad didn't want me too. ANd now I can't get dogs out of my system and love them to bits! :P
4. Ok...I kinda have a stupid question. What kind of Diseases, parasites or sicknesses can a dog get from a dead bird, if any? Is there anything specific to birds that dogs can get? The reason I'm asking this is One..I tried to look up deseases of birds and all I found were ones that were only transfered to other birds not dogs. And Two- today I found the skeleton and wings (feathers still on) of a peigon (at least that's what I think it was) on our lawn. It seems that the local cats have been draging or eating birds and god knows what else on our lawn. Zebra got ahold of a peice of bone the other day while playing on the lawn. He ate half before I could get it out of his mouth. These damn cats are realy getting on my nerves but the "owners" are really getting to me more than anything. :x There is a horde of cats across the street that apparently belong to no one and the neighbors behind us who happen to be relitives have 3 cats and let them out all the time. When I get 70 dollars I'm going to the humane society and getting one of thoes humane traps so I can catch these cats and take them to the shelter.
5. I asked my mom if we could go and she said "maybe"...wich means if I bug her enough it will be a "yes".  Mutts- I was thinking that Zebra would be good in Mystery Mutt-Large breed and Best tail wag too!
6. Awww poor Bella! :( I hope she feels better, give her a hug for me. On another note she is getting so big!!! And I just love the colouring on her face...so beautiful. :P
7. Hey crested!!! Glad your back! :P Oh that pic is too cute!
8. Yea it was on last monday I think. I watched it...I realy have no idea what to think. That poor spaniel puppy...put to sleep. Sue sternburg kept poking the poor dog while eating and the dog bit the hand...so she said it was "agressive". :-?
9. Ohh I wanna go!!!!!!! This is so awsome! :P
10.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!!! Now my 11 year old daughter wants one
*LMAO* Sorry K. :evilbat:  Kiwi- the things on that site are a little over the top, to say the least. And most of the prices nearly gave me a hearattack. But I do think that if I ever got one of thoes it would just be a $1,700.00 bed that zebra would hump then chew up.
11. I'm either a Gorilla or a Porcupine. I'd say I'm mostly gorilla with a little dash of Porcupine.
12. It's only $1,700.00. :o http://www.pawprintzpetboutique.com/pet-furniture.htm
13. Maybe he is acting up because your moving. If your stressed, excited or anxious he will feel that. Try to explain it too him, seriously, just talk to him and tell him that your moving. It sounds stupid but I do it all the time with Zebra.
14. What a freak! But I don't know who is dumber...the guy who made the site or the people who want to buy the book. :x
15. 14/25....
16. DP- He never use to sleep in a crate or anything. In fact we never had one. But then with his hip operation he needed to be crated 24/7. Then he only had to be crated at night and when we left the house. Now he don't need to be crated at all but I find it better then him sleeping under the kitchen table because his crate is allot warmer and I can keep an eye on him. His crate is in my room right next to my bed.
17. Maybe it's because around 10 everyone starts setteling down. My dad is usually in bed by then. My mom usually starts to relax and turns allot of the lights off in the house. And I'm usually on the computer. Maybe it's that? He does sleep in his crate at night but he HATES it! I have to practicly chace him into it.
18.
Ugh I saw this yesterday. I was actually sitting there yelling at the people on the tv.
Me too Hillside. My mom came in my room to see what was the matter and why I was yelling so much. I had to explain that I was watching tv. Didn't it look like the woman who was breeding the Labradoodles was keeping them in a wearhouse? Stupid puppy mill. Uh as for the woman who had the Caucasians..what can I say? I have seen one of her ads in the back of Dog Fancy magazine. And to be perfectly honest the dogs that they showed scared the beans out of me! Trying to attack a moving car? Pulling that guy off his feet? And they never showed that dog when it wasn't lunging at someone or something. The caucasian is HUGE and to me it does look "tough". But there was that one scene when they put that baby next to the dog. That dog did NOT look happy! I was just waiting for something horrible to happen. Ahh well I'm happy to know that I wasn't the only one that was furious because of that show.
19. I know a fair amount of German. I took it in College and self taught myself for two years in H.S.
20. :o  I've never seen a lab puppy that looked like THAT before! it's head is soo round.
21. Arg! Zebra is driving everyone crazy! For the last month or so every night zebra is just the most annoying dog in the world! He makes all kinds of noise, he growels, whines, and wookie talks not stop. At first I thought it was because he wanted to be pet..but no, he still makes noise when I pet him. We try to ignore it but then he starts to bark very loud. The only thing that shuts him up is his kong but that only last for a few mins. This behaviour only starts at 10:00 pm or later. My mom is getting seriously angry and keeps yelling at me to make him stop but I don't know how! He also gets realy hyper at night and it's not like he dosn't get enough exersize, he runs and plays outside for more than an hour a day and gets walks! And we play with him when he is inside. SO what is his deal? Please please please someone tell me how to keep him quiet. I'm going insane with his constant wining. :drinking:
22. Ok I saw the episode last night, they re-ran it at 2 in the morning. This particular incident they seemed to use the Religion card as a cop out. And they were obviously BYB or whatever. But lets just pretend that I owned a dog and my religon said that spay/neutering was bad or unacceptable. So I don't get my pet neutered/spayed. There isn't anything wrong with that in my mind. But It boils down to responsibility NOT religion. I would have to be responsible enough to know not to get a male dog and a female dog. I just think that this should be a responsibility issue not a religions one.
23.
WHAT RELIGIOUS REASONS COULD YOU HAVE FOR NOT SPAYING/NEUTERING YOUR DOGS???? I was brought up a catholic, and dont remenber anything saying yu could not neuter your dogs....
Ok I'll bite and play Devils Advocate. The reason some people of different religions don't spay/neuter is the same reason that allot of Catholics don't use birth control. It's not "natural" or how god (whatever god that may be) created things. Do you know what religion these people were? I only saw like 5 mins of the show and all I know is that they are Russan.
24. "Mixed-breed dogs are healthier," Zawistowski said. "They aren't as likely to have these inherited problems and people have gotten some of that message and so they're buying mixed-breed dogs" :x *looks over at my oh so healthy"mix breed" ...that I am going to spend 12,000 dollars on new hips for* yea..SOOO healthy! I don't suppose anyone saw that show on the National Geographic Ch. about "Designer dogs"? Anyways on the show all they did was promote new breeds. Like the woman who breed labradoodles, she had 50 litters a year and kept all her dogs in some kind of warehouse. BYB for sure. Or the husband and wife who were going to breed a Border-Staffy (Border Collie/ Staffordshire Bull Terrier) so that THEY could get the new world record of Fly-ball. :x Or the woman who claimed Wolf dog hybrids were great family pets. Never mind the thousands and thousands of dogs that get put to sleep each year because no one wants them. Never mind the thousands of dogs that are in shelters right now. No lets just breed more mutts for nothing and pretend that all the ones sittng in the shelters don't exist.
25. I'm so sorry. This is something that no pet or owner should ever have to go threw. *hugs* I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do.
