Pit bulls (lowercased) can mean alot of breeds apparently... but then again that could be wrong too. Its hard to even research it when theres so much false information out there.

Angelboddy, for one thing I never said YOU were irresponsible... I said what happened was an irresponsible thing. Oh and Im so glad to know that the old-time dogo-ers are talking behind our backs and saying how rude WE are being! :roll: :roll: :roll: Im sorry, but Angelboddy I tried to stay calm through this whole thing... you, however, lashed out at everyone saying that you were wrong. Yes, I will admit you did somewhat correct the situation, but Im still worried that these dogs dont have good homes... :cry: You never really said if you were going to check back up on them or not, but I really hope you will. I honestly dont think your dog shouldve been bred even if this situation hadnt happened... you said yourself she was bred for hunting purposes only so Im sure look-wise she isnt up to breeding standards (in fact I saw her pic and she looks like a mix to me). Although looks arent as important as performance... they should be considered.

So should we try writing the site to correct them? Or is it even worth it?

Thats what I thought.... but where do you draw the line? Is it only AmStaffs, APBTs, and StaffyBulls??? Or is it other bull breeds too?

No it doesnt sound like a ban... but who would be able to afford $300,000 in insurance?!? That would keep me from getting a pit bull since I could barely afford one as it is.

Actually, hes not with Straydog... hes with Angie's K9 Kids. Angies a rescuer in Dallas and Bill has allowed her (well, not her but her volunteers) to bring some of her dogs up to PetsMart with us. Poor lady. She lives off of social security checks and feeds the dogs before herself. Shes living in her own house but its pretty much been made into a zoo since she has over 60 dogs living with her! :o I dont know how she does it. Anyway hes been with her for at least a year I know because I think I first met him about ...10 months ago maybe? Now that I look at him more maybe he doesnt have mastiff in him ...its just now hes so huge and is filling out. IDK, he might... these pictures were from when he was young so ya never know.

Well I never had the chance to take any pics pf him myself but there are some on Straydog and Petfinder. Body shots though? Only from when he was a lot younger and his body has changed a lot since then... hes blockier and his head has gotten a lot bigger. Ill go look though. Oh BTW, I figured out who Dr. Wags/Wagtail is! ...and I love her, shes a great person to know! :D

Exactly! Well put! ...like Smokey, hes well-proportioned (really almost leggy but then again Im used to stockier dogs) Yup Ive seen Goliath before. His mouth in the first picture is almost... too jowl-y lol but IDK maybe its just that pic. I love having lots a jowls to grab onto though! :wink: hehehe, it only means a biger bully grin! :D

Hes sweet as can be and his coloring is stunning! He might not be a mastiff mix but I think he is since at a year old he was already 67 lbs and still growing. :o Ugh I dont like the breeding of these dogs but Smokey stole my heart. I actually like the hugeness about them but the fact that fighters are using that as an "advantage" in the ring is disgusting. But anyway I dont like short, low-to-the-ground pits AT ALL!!! They look so deformed, its as if theyre in pain, IMO!

I also agree that this couldve been prevented... it makes me so sad that this happened. Like Steph said, those puppies took away possible homes for other dogs in need. I wonder about what PUP said too... please at least say that youre friends with the people who took them or if not then you screened these people and their homes. Will you go and check up on them in the future? Were the pups altered BEFORE they left you? Did you get contact information from all of these people so you can get updates on the pups? Im so worried that these people will abandon these poor puppies in shelters b/c, lets face it, pit mixes are hard to handle and arent for everyone.

All those are really really cute ...but not my style. Ive become really picky about what type of pits I like for some strange reason. I like cropped ears ((again, Ive said this before but) I would never do it but if I could rescue a pit w/cropped ears then woohoo! :lol: ) and a solid built dog... and a blocky head but not TOO blocky like those BYB pits mixed w/mastiffs n other breeds! :roll: Which is generally why Ive grown to like AmStaffs over APBTs. Yeah my mom wont let me have a dog. She uses the same excuses over and over again... when I know its only because of money, which is understandable.
