:D  I am so glad you have such a wonderful trainer, send him my way when you're done.

:D we used adams flea and tick spray to keep mosquitos and horse-flys off of our horses. The same one we use on our dogs. It's safe to use on dogs, cats, horses. Comes in a blue bottle with a red top.
Yeah well if its airborne then why kill innocent dogs? I don't know, just sounds to me like the chinese government trying to look as though they are doing something to stop the spread of this deadly virus, at the cost of the dogs life even though they know the dogs don't have anything to do with it
I would suspect that if the chinese government has realized something that they are not sharing that the dogs being destroyed are actually real carriers of the disease.
So there are diseases that animals can give us, and if it is a viral infection, I would guess it is possible to get it by consuming the animal......Right now they are saying that SARS is spread airborne....
check out this link on fifth disease. Humans get it from dogs infected with parvo and can give it to other humans. http://content.health.msn.com/content/healthwise/103/25565.htm?lastselectedguid={B7F18B8A-5BA8-43FC-B950-5FA349C6A692}

:D Sally was also really shy and timid, for a RR, around new settings, now she is wide-eyed and tail wagging every time we go to a new show-site, she has figured out that the people are nice and she gets to meet new doggies. Just keep up the socialization, Rio will eventually come out of his shell, use alot of postive reinforcement. I always get sally a hotdog from the vendor, it gives her something else to look forward to.

Are Rotweilers really as violent as the media tells us?
Rosebud replied to a topic in Everything about dogs
:-? No! A dog is only as vicious as it's raised to be. -
Rosebud wrote: Have you started pacing the floor yet? ...huh?? What does that mean? Sorry... My english is not THAT good yet, but I'm working on it... (It could be because I'm tired, too...) It's when you walk back and forth in the same spot, usually wearing the floor beneath you out, waiting for something. Daddy's are notorious for this when their children are being born.
Aww, puppy power!!! Can't wait to see them photos, you should hush it up though I think Rosebud has severe puppy envy syndrome. :o
Thanks snowpaws, but I think I'm over it for now. Will need more reinforcement July & August when the pups are being socialized, especially if they have any extra puppies. Have you started pacing the floor yet? I know you are so excited.

the most wierd thing is they all come and sit by me at the computer, fart, then go back in the other room what`s that all about?
They have a real cute sense of humour??? :D :D :D
I think I would have to call that a sick sense of humour!

:D Oh! how lovely, I love Landon's beautiful block head.

:D I can sympatize with you about the tick thing, although fleas don't bother me as bad, ticks make me nausous. I use Adams Flea & Tick spray, it kills the tick and then the tick will not have a grip and you can get tick and teeth out with no problem. It works great as a preventive spray also. When we go to the lake (big tick problem there) I spray them down with it and usually have no problem all week-end.

:D Sally and Rocket are obsessed with my frogs, I have to go out at night round up all my frogs put them back in the garden beds and pray my baby dogs don't eat them. I worry so much since I know that they can be poisonous to dogs, but I live in the country so what else can I do, plus I love my frogs too and don't want to kill them.
-
:-? Well, we all know how the chinese government is alleged to be masterminds of covering up things and we also know that there are people in those country's that keep dogs as pets till they are just right to sell for consumption. I posted a previous thread about this and know I am just wondering if maybe there is a connection to dog consumption and Sars.
-
:D He's just absolutely precious looking. Here's hoping everything goes well!
-
:D  Sandy and Rocket just look at me to see if I'm going to the cookie jar, Sally-Rose on the other hand is my side-kick, don't matter what I'm doing or where I'm going, she will follow me to the toilet and if I put the baby gate up in the back door to the garage so that I can keep the garage door open she will bark till I let her out with me.
-
:D Oh! I feel so blessed. Sally & Rocket don't know how to get into something and not make a noise, actually I think one of them is trying to get my attention to rat out the other.
-
:o I am so sorry to hear about your cousin.
-
 I don't think anything will help Rocket, I think it is a hereditary gene from his dad, his dad's will bring a grown man to his knees. And I'm sure that it's not the food, since none of the girls are that bad and all the babies eat the same stuff. He got the name Rocket/Rocketman right after he started to walk, if you turned your back, he was gone like a rocket.

I have a friend who wont even look at Kodi, even when he was a little tiny ball of fluff! He LOVED her though, it was really sad! She used to scream whenever he jumped up at her.........Stupid cat person....
Don't worry snowpaws it sounds like Kodi knows your friend is a good person and he wants to be the one to let the Dog Mom out. I use to be the same way about puppy kisses, Eeeww, Gross, now I know better and cherish the kiss Sally gives me every evening when I get home. Here's how it goes. When I get home my roommate lets the dogs out to great me, Sally runs to the car door, waits for me to open the door, jumps up, gives me a kiss and off she goes.

:-? Welcome back. Oh dear, glad nothing serious happened with the chicken pok's. Hope Pik is fine too. Sorry to hear about the baby. My mom's last GSD had hip-dysplasia and it' not nice.
-
:D Oh but Rottinpit, they are bouquets to them. As for how to avoid them, I haven't a clue but to get rid of the smell you could open the door and put a fan in the doorway and air-condition the great outdoors. Good luck, I know how bad they can be, Rocket runs himself out of the room alot.

Wagging dog when I come home 3. Curling up on the couch together 2. Wet kisses anytime for anything And the number one reason UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!

 When Holly was smiling out the back window she was saying, "Ha, that'll teach you to leave me again!" What a sweet story.

:D Shara - I think it's o.k. if your heart is crying over Hazel and at the same time smiling for Coal. Nea - My heart smiles when I see the birds at my bird-feeder, the frogs playing in the garden, two deer standing in a corn field. I think it's great that you have been able to share this bond with other animals.
GOOD! I'm glad all charges were dropped. From what I remember of this story, his dog was in plain sight behind a sliding glass door FRANTIC TO GET OUT! It was reported that one of the firemen said, "You can always get another dog." I would have done the same if I could have leaped up onto the balcony. Not all rescue personnel are caring, giving folks like your father (thank God for men like him); there are jerks on fire departments just like every other occupation! (How do I know this? I have a brother-in-law who retired from as a Captain/Training Officer from a professional fire department.) So I am pleased that this guy faces no charges. How could he let his faithful friend burn to death in plain sight?
You are right, he begged the firemen for almost a half hour to go and rescue his dog, he was not at home when the fire started and when he arrived the firemen were just standing around watching the fire, he finally got feed up and went and got his dog hisself. I didn't figure they would be able to hold the charges since the firemen wouldn't put a ladder and break the glass door and let the pup out. You could see the dog from the street.

:D The news annouced that all the charges against the man who saved his dog from a burning building have been dropped.
