1. Here is a true tale from the book Found Dogs by Elise Lufkin, a collection of stories of strays who landed on their feet. A lady who works for a humane organization in San Diego relates this: Recently an older man came to the pound. He explained that he wanted to look for a dog that had been born after March 20, and I commented that he must want a puppy. He replied, This is a rather unusual situation. Do you believe in angels?" "Of course," I answered. "Well, do you believe in reincarnation?" I assured him that I could believe in almost anything if it would help him to adopt a dog. He then explained that on March 20 his beloved little dog of seventeen years had died. He was devastated. Then one night an angel had appeared in a dream and announced that his dog would return but that he would have to look for her. "So here I am to start looking," he said. Together we walked through the shelter going from floor to floor, passing cages filled with all kinds of dogs. Finally in the last corner he spotted a dog. He looked at the dog. She looked back at him, and he said, "There she is!" I pointed out that this dog was definitely not a puppy. She was three or four years old and quite large as well. Nevertheless, I opened the cage, he held out his arms and the dog rushed to him. "I'll take this one, this one is mine," he said. The dog followed us to the office where the man filled out some forms and paid the adoption fee. Then I opened the door leading to the parking lot. The dog then led the man out the door and walked directly over to his car where she waited by the passenger door for him to come and open it for her. they both got in, and off they drove together. I have read this many times, and each time if moves me to tears! What faith the man had. What do you think?
2. A normal leash is what I prefer. :D With two such big dogs it gives us better control when we take them to the vets or for car rides, etc. They don't need the extra length a retractable lead would give them, since they are exercised well at home off the lead, and not at a dog park.
3. My Saint burps too after eating. One time he came into the living room after eating to lean against the chair. I absentmindedly patted him on his side like you would a baby on the back after a feeding....He let out this enormous burp!! Then he lay down with a very satisfied air! What a dog.... :D My husband and I burst out laughing....Ben looked  when we laughed at him. Max's farts are the worst! Very rarely are they ever heard. They seem to rise like a poisonous fog; curling up to your nostrils. All the while he's got his "Who, me?" look on his face! Gag! Time to fling open all the windows and bring out the odor neutralizer!
4. Hey Marion! He got the TIME correct didn't he? You know not to expect too much don't you? I agree with K!
5. Wonderful news! :smilecolros:
6. She's a beauty! Good luck on the fostering....I would find her hard to give up! I hope things go smoothly for you as you work with her and screen applicants to find her the best possible home.
7. Well Done, Starfox! All the strays who never found a forever home and wound up at the Rainbow Bridge are cheering you right now!! You have saved some little lives by convincing your friend and her Mom!
8. It's no wonder Freebee is afraid of pushycat!   Who knows what secret tortures she has endured while you are at work! :o I too have an evil, self-centered cat, so I know the torture they can inflict on poor, unsuspecting dogs!
9. Poor pitiful dog  ...Hideous woman! Did she think that by starving her former partner's dog that she was "getting even" with the person? What stupidity and ignorance - and she's already passed it on to her children! Where has empathy and concern gone in our world? :(

11. Well, let's see.....He doesn't have a tail to cut off for entertainment, but I can sure think of an appendage he DOES have that we could cut off and stick in the freezer for entertainment!!!! :-? How can a person be so vile? :x
12. Beautiful guy! I love the look of foxhounds. Here's hoping it all works out for you and Freebee!
13. Champion Kato! :klacz: It does have a nice ring to it! :modla: He is a lovely dog and would be sure to win again and again if you want to continue showing. If Kato likes the show routine and you do too, keep it up! If you want to just enjoy life with Kato, do that! Either way, he is a great dog and you are a great dog mom!
14. Congratulations to Kato and Kato's Mommy! :kciuki: :B-fly: :multi: :B-fly: :multi: :B-fly: :kciuki: "Champion Kato" does have a nice ring to it! Good luck in his next showing. :smilecolros:

21. How's Boomer today, Holz? He sure looked pathetic wth all those quills sticking out of his muzzle!
22. Elle is gorgeous! :iloveyou: Let's think "like a dog" about the dirty knickers being the favored item to drag out of the laundry bin and drape around after giving them a good sniff! Why do dogs like your knickers? When two new dogs meet where is the first place they usually "check out" on the other dog? I know with my two boys they go straight for the smelliest spot!!! Could be that's why they like your previously worn underwear and socks too! GROSS! :cool1: :o
23. Glad you've got Rosie's diagnosis. It's the worrying about it that eats away at you. Hopefully the meds will do the trick! She will feel so much better soon! :D
24. Yes! Come on in, pull up a chair, and tell us your stories. :D
25. Great Pictures! :smilecolros:
