1. I think so too! That same page said they believed the Basset Hound may be in the bloodlines as well. Here's another photo:
2. Here are some pictures: Aren't they cute? One of the faq sheets I saw said that some believe that the St. Bernard may have been involved in the development of the breed!
3. I don't know anything about them other than appreciating how they look! I think they are cute as the dickens!
4. Yes...I am finding that out, Mouse. Today I signed up on a rottweiler forum to ask for information about Deramaxx and leg problems. I got a lot of responses....Poor Max. He does seem a little better today; I think the pain medication is helping. But when he walks you can see that there is structurally something wrong with his leg. :o So I will call the vets tomorrow and see if they have talked to the ortho vet yet. This morning Max did come flip his ball up on the bed to wake me up! He hasn't done that for a couple of weeks. Cassie - thanks for the helpful info!
5. Poor Kato! Why is it, when everything is going along so well, that all of a sudden out of the blue comes...TROUBLE! :x Hope nothing else turns up and Kato is okay!
6. Cute story Angel  ....I can see it now though.....One day your husband is going to be sound asleep on the couch and he will wake up with Nostalgia draped across his napping form! :cunao: Won't that be a big surprise!! I have found that no matter their size all the dogs I have had would like to be lap dogs! :D
7. Marion - With my luck Max would be scared of the stair lift but Ben would hop on and take it for joy rides all day, running the electric bill up! Thanks all, for your well-wishes for my Maxwell! It is hard to see him suffer. He raises his head and "licks the air" when it's really hurting... He hasn't done that yet tonight after his first dose! :)
8. Is Roxy a Democrat? Max's favorites are.......THE HIDEOUS SQUEAKY BALL & the YELLOW ORB OF HAPPINESS (ordinary tennis ball)! Ben prefers not to play with toys.. His occupation is practicing being a human!
9. What a fun day that must have been for you and Gladis and Paddy! Kids love it when dogs come to school! I can just imagine your two eating up all that attention and praise! It's really neat they got to see such an unusual breed! :D
10. Poor Max is having a lot of trouble with his arthritis in his rear legs (his "knees"). The pain is so bad he is off his food and is not putting any weight on his right hind leg! So after trying Ascriptin for three weeks and not seeing any results I knew we had to try something else. Also, it appears he may have torn a ligament... :o I think from going up and down the d*** stairs when we had the in-laws staying with us. We couldn't shut the door and keep him out, because he spent his time moaning and whining at the door! He is VERY persistent when he wants something. So today off we went to the vet where he got three x-rays and a referral to an orthopedic surgeon-the jury is still out on what, if anything, can be done for him. The pain has been so bad that he has lost SEVEN pounds in the past month because he won't eat when he hurts! He now has a month's supply of Deramaxx - on the lowest possible dose. I am now on the lookout for any adverse reaction. I did some talking to the vet and some research on the internet and I will be watching him closely! :-? My hope is that he won't suffer any complications and his pain gets relieved... He was such a good boy at the vet! :D How could I not want the owner of this face to get better?
11. GACK!! That's the sound I would make if I had to taste that combination! But then again, who knows? My guys might like it since they love tuna! :eating:
12. What great photos of Lily and Wizard having a fun time together. Good luck with the "cute guy thing"!
13. Your puppy-girl is beautiful! Can't wait to see larger pictures of her. :D
14. Signed...
15. Great news, Daisymom! You are a good influence!!! :D I wish them the best of luck with their new dog. More converts! The more, the merrier....for all concerned!
16. I'm happy to hear Rocket is better. So sorry he has developed a taste for frogs! :-? Pesky boy! What is he thinking? I feel for you....What an awful mess to have to clean up... :o in your BRAND NEW CAMPER! I would have been beside myself with frustration.... Anyway, glad this crisis is over! :)
17. Good show, Kaleb! She sounds like she could really use your calm, reasonable influence to learn how to train herself as well as her dog. I applaud you for taking the high road on this one. And...if things don't work out, you will be able to know right away and give her advice about finding the pup a good home! It's a win/win situation for that little puppy. :kciuki:
18. Congratulations to your Mom and Lily! She will love her! My Mom just got a little kitten a few weeks ago and she is just "batty" over him now! Looking forward to pictures of the little beauty! :D
19. I'm sorry.....I'm a Libra....I can't vote.....How can I possibly select one beautiful coat over another? They all look great to me.... I can see this will be the only time I can post a message on a contest thread, because I am always faced with this dilemma. It makes people :agrue: and get :grab: with me! Good luck to all the contestants - I hope it's A BIG FAT TIE!
20. Yes, neat stories! Pictures when you can...
21. I checked out Kia's story! What a great start to a lifelong partnership. Dogs have a special relationship with mankind (and womankind too  ) that does not exist between humans and any other species. I have cats as well as dogs and the relationship is just not the same in my opinion (although many would disagree with me on this point, I'm sure). Great job Kia! Kias_Mommy, you were lucky to have found her and listened with your heart at the shelter! She has paid your kindness back in full measure and then some...
22. Angelboddy...thanks for posting your Nostalgia story. I do believe that when we are not finished with something/someone they have a way of coming back to us because we still need them. I don't have any personal experience with this, but I have heard enough people relate their experiences to believe...
23. Oh dear! Maybe he CAN be desensitized to his car sickness, by taking short little trips quite often..? If he can't get over it, then road trips are definately OUT!!! :silly:
24. Crested - Glad you are going for the license! Just think of all the great ROAD TRIPS you and Ben could go on once you are a licensed driver!
25. That is so COOL! Way to go!
