1. Sorry you have to be without your boys for three weeks or so. You will miss them/they will miss you.. :dog: :dog: But look at it this way, its like a little holiday at the spa for the guys! A few days at the doggie bed and breakfast for the new best friends and they will be back, good as new, with many slurpy kisses all the way round!
2. Well, what else would you expect from PRINCESS Sorsha? She's got an image to uphold!
3. I wish I had some good advice, but I have the same nail clipping issue with Max. :-? We got him at six month old and he obviously had never had his trimmed. It was always a struggle. But now that he is feeling poorly it's even worse. So now, he gets his nails clipped at the vets. The last time was when they sedated him for x-rays! Someone here will have some advice....I just wish it was me, then I would know what to do too!
4. Sorry about your big storm RnP! Drey knew he was safe, didn't he? :D My saint couldn't care less about storms. His attitude is "no big deal". But my rottie is frightened of storms (thunder, lightning, strong winds, etc.). He didn't start out frightened, but got scared when he and his "brother" were home alone during a particularly violent storm in the fall about two years ago. We had the power ripped off our house, lost about 10 trees in our yard and edge of the woods. One fell on the house, another's top (about 30 feet of fir tree) snapped off and drove itself into our lawn. We unfortunately had not listened to the forcast, but had gone into town to have a steak. Our trip home that normally would take 25 minutes took about 3 hours! We literally had to wait for guys with chain saws and front end loaders to clear the pavement along our stretch of road. Our whole area had no power at all so we were using our headlights to light up the trees so the guys could see what they were doing! And then when we got home a mess was waiting for us here! Plus one very frantic dog! Now when it thunders Max gets this "Oh my God" look on his face and worry lines appear on his forehead. Then he finds me and becomes velcro dog until the storm is over! Wakes me up in the night for comfort too! Gets on the bed and huddles between my husband and myself - not comfy!! I wish he wasn't frightened.... :-?
5. Good luck on your search for a yellow lab...they are lovely dogs. A co-worker of mine has one who is just a darling fellow! I understand your obsession  .....I have my own too!!
6. If something doesn't look or feel right, it probably isn't right. :( I agree with Mouse. I wouldn't want to buy a pup from a place that had lots of different breeds, but would prefer to buy from a breeder who specializes in a breed and knows them inside and out! And uses improvement of the breed as their standard for creating litters! But this is a moot point for me, since I will probably always prefer to find a dog who needs a home and doesn't have one.. :) Just a personal choice....I do love to see all the pictures and hear the stories of pups out there.
7. My saint will do that type of marking occasionally! He is a funny guy...he likes to go to the farthest corner of the yard to do his business (unlike Max who thinks that any spot outside is a good spot) and usually when he finishes he just runs away. But sometimes he gets a wierd look on his face, puts his nose up in the air, and scrapes away at the grass with his hind feet. Believe me, the grass does fly! It's good to be far away!
8. I have a rottie who is a gentle soul. He is not around children often, but when he is, he is very careful. A few years ago, I took him to my 4th grade classroom to visit (before his arthritis flared up - my classroom is up two flights of stairs in a very old brick school building). All the kids petted him and he was a gentleman and I might add a real face-licker! He also loves to play ball which is good for kids too! Cats....I have two...one which Max does not chase...and one that he does! But cats are excellent at getting away. The cat he does chase is an evil tempered beastie who believes that the rest of us are only here to serve her, so I guess you can't blame him for wanting to get her! She gives as good as she gets! Rotties get so much bad press that people think they are vicious when in reality they are excellent family dogs. Loyal and loving. It's all in how you socialize and train them! Good luck with selecting your new dog!
9. Whew! All's well that ends well!
10. Aw, Spiritsmom....she was sure to go; such a beauty! I'm sorry you feel her loss so badly. Fostering is a brave thing to do - it's so easy to get attached. I don't know how you manage it. You are an  Sounds like she will have a loving home with this family!
11. He's cute... :D What is his personality like?
12. I'm hoping to hear good news, Courtnek!! How exciting that you get another chance at Karma!
13. Thank you so much for all of your support! Max appreciated all your hugs... 8) His brother is a little jealous....poor Ben. :(
14. Max gets to see the surgeon for an evaluation on Thursday, June 26. That's the earliest appointment I could get! So I will have to keep an eye on him so he doesn't ram around like he usually does!
15. Excellent response to his biased, ill-informed article, Sanvean!!! :user: :D
16. Hmm...Is going outside on the porch considered "special" or a "treat" by Abby and Cracker? Were you outside on the porch with her or was she by herself? If you were inside with Abby, had you been giving her a lot of attention before Cracker came inside? Don't you just wish you could take a peek into her thoughts and know the answer to this problem?
17. How lucky! I'm happy for you.... I never win anything  - But at least it's good to know someone who does!!! Hope the earrings are gorgeous!
18. Abker - Have you reached any conclusion about what is "triggering" these attacks? Is there any pattern? Could you record in a little notebook, or on a card you can keep, the circumstances surrounding these events? It may be easier for you to see a pattern if you have a log to study and think about as you think about before you try corrections. Good luck - I do hope you can figure out what is wrong. Neither dog should have to live in conflict...
19. Happy Birthday, Indy! :BIG: :laola: :BIG:
20. Great stuff! :D Look at this walking stick handle!
21. She is beautiful! :smilecolros: Welcome to Dogo!
22. Max feels better, but Good Grief! Yesterday evening we sat out by a campfire and had Ben and Max outside with us the entire time. Max is feeling much better due to the Deramaxx. Some of the swelling is subsiding, but now you can see just how big the knot is on the affected joint! :o At any rate, Max now thinks he is "all better" and I spent a good deal of my time trying to curtail his outside exploration and play! He made several covert forays into the edge of the woods and wound up the evening laying underneath the front-end loader waiting for some small creature to reappear! I did manage to forstall the regular "clash of the titans" that normally happens before the boys re-enter the house! So Max is feeling much better. He gets his pain pill in the morning and his G/C pill with his evening meal. I have not heard back from the vet, so today I will give them a call to see what the ortho thinks from Max's x-rays.
23.   Kiger, I guess you're entitled to that "groaner" since you've been under a lot of stress lately. Glad your little fella is feeling better!
24. Can you put a metal guard over the screen mesh? Something that is expanded aluminum so you can still get the breeze and see out but that she can't crash through?
25. Too funny! :laugh2_2: As I read your post I could picture Ben prancing about, one foot lifted, shooting you disgusted looks! Lucky for you there were seagulls to distract him from his wrapped foot! I had to laugh out loud! What a guy!!  Nice post! Brought a big smile to my face! :D
