I dont know if anyone posted this yet (I didnt feel like reading since I just read the seven pages about RnP and our heights lol) but I learned from a professional trainer at petsmart about pulling... When the dog starts to pull youre supposed to pull them back and stop until they stop then start going again. If they start again you pull and stop. Its a LONG process but it works with a lot of the dogs Ive worked with... even the most stubborn.

Im the same as Hillside... 5 ft 1/2 in ...and yes the half inch is VERY important when youre so short! :wink: :lol: Im still growing (hopefully) though so maybe eventually Ill be at least 5'2! :lol: :lol: :lol: All I have to say about the whole RnP thing is... cute pics (I wouldve enjoyed them more if it wasnt from him... but hey theyre still pits none the less)

Well, court, Id have to say it seems like shes never with anyone when shes walking the dog. The first time I think she was with another kid at one point but then she left... maybe because the kid is such a brat! :lol: Actually, I do think youre right about the whole thing. She probably doesnt get much attention at home... Ive seen plenty of kids who act the way they do because of something like that. Everything youve said has made perfect sense. I just feel so bad for the dog to have to be caught in the middle of it all! :cry: :x So should I still go about things the same as we discussed before or does this change anything? Should I be more strict towards her about this or what? :-?

Ok so I havent exactly been arounf for a while because of school starting... which is way too early over here dangit! (Aug. 4th! :o ) So yeah, schools been crazy and stressful ...but I met a boy (we went out for like a few days but then he broke up with me... stupid a-hole lol) and he has a pit and an akita!! :D If anyone remembers I had a cat lving on my porch for a while. Well its been a month since she got here and we just now finally brought her to the local humane society. Shell be adopted quick was what the person there said since shes so friendly and if she doesnt my mom told her to call so shes not PTS Oh and Straydog has been lucky lately... weve had LOTS of adoptions!!! AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH A RED PIT TODAY!!! She was BEAUTIFUL!!! Ill post pics hopefully tomorrow if they get posted on their webby tonight or tomorrow night. She was sooo sweet and not too dog aggressive but she was just an awesome dog. Typical bully grin and wiggle-butt lol...and loved giving kisses. I really think she grew attached to me today (as well as I got attached to her) because she whined after I left her! :angel: AWWW!!! lol She was so pretty though, red nose and red brindle coat... just gorgeous!

Thanks Court! :D OK so now I just need everyones help on what exactly I should say when I see her next time. I dont want to be mean to her, Ill try to be as nice as possible so I can try to help the dog but if she starts acting like the little brat she is, lol, I dont know how Ill handle it! Should I offer another kind of collar? Should I offer to train her dog? Should I suggest training lessons at a pet store(like the PetsMart I go to)? What should I say to her parents if I do talk to them?

Ummm... I get what youre saying court but uh keep in mind in some peoples eyes Im still a kid too. Im 14... But how am I supposed to contact her parents if the kid wont let me? Stalk her and then knock on her door after she locks me out? :lol: Hmm... nevermind thatll work! :lol: :wink:

Yeah I read about Git too and that was just horrible! Those officers were able to see the vest on him and they still had the nerve to shoot the poor dog so many times! :evil: :cry: :evil: :cry: :evil:

Gosh Im so nervous about this. When I do find her again, I know shes a little brat... friends have said so and I can tell shes stubborn! :roll: Im going to try and ask if I can talk to her parents, but if she says no, what should I do? Im going to try and be as nice as possible but, dang, I dont know if I can! And another thing... I dont get how some of you can say its completely the parents fault and not the kid's at all! I agree that the parents are mostly at fault but I said I dont know the kids exact age... she could be 9 for all I know but then again she could be 6. So, the girl can be held partially responsible for what shes doing. I mean I know a lot of times kids dont think before doing something but they still undertsand right and wrong... their bringing up does have a lot to do with that though.

I dont remember if I posted this here before but theres this girl who lives in my apartments ...shes probably about 6-7... but anyway when I first saw her with her sweet and beautiful Doberman, she let the puppy OFFleash and it almost got hit by a car! :evil: :o I went and caught the dog because it looked like she was chasing after him to get his leash back on. WRONG! When I held him she just let him go again... :roll: Then he almost got hit AGAIN! OK well if none of that sounds familiar I guess I didnt post it but anyway... today I saw her and I went to go pet him. The dog has a prong collar on and shes YANKING that thang like CRAZY!!! :evil: Then when Im petting him he just goes mad and runs around, tail tucked, scared to death. IM thinking WTF?!? :o Then I see he has a shock collar on and shes hitting those buttoms like its a game or something! She says, "Youre lucky this is only on level 7!" :o :x :cry: I dont know levels on those things but it sounds like thats really high to me. POOR DOG!!! Id like to know where the parents are and if they know what an idiot child they have! Geez that kills me to no end when I see kids handlings dogs like their objects and when parents arent around to do anything about it!!! :roll: :roll: :roll:

I know someone is going to come in here and stick up for small dogs [i]but[/i] IMO [i]a lot[/i] of small dogs are raised in the hands of people who dont know what theyre doing and end up being little dominant BRATS!!! Irresponsible people upset me so much! Geez, I just dont get how people can be satisfied with the fact that their dog cant be pet without it snapping... and they have the nerve to say that big dogs are dangerous! :roll: Im sorry you had to go through that! ... hey it couldve been a lot worse!!! :lol:

I get what youre saying Seij and I kind of agree... of course I would never have the heart to do that EVER! Geez you know I sat and thought about this and its all one big HOLE!! Ok first you get a dog maybe rescued it or were just lonely and then you go check out prices for spaying and its too expensive. Cant do it... so then later the dog gets pregnant. Now you have 6 more pups in addition to the mom to feed and take care of, thats a lot of money. You cant afford to have them PTS when you cant find them homes and all the shelters wont take them because theyre full. You dont want them to suffer when you cant feed em. Out comes the gun. Its all just a big hole I tell you! There needs to be cheaper or even free spay and nueter programs. I mean I know it was the persons fault for getting the dog in the first place if you cant afford it but still... if I was poor I would still want a dog no matter what. Selfish, right? ...but Im dying without a dog and I cant imagine not having one when Im older. So anyway my point is yes its the guys fault but if things went as I said above, you just keep getting in deeper and deeper when youre poor... gah! life sux! lol

The thing about laws, as its already been said, is people break them all the time. Spay/neuter laws and even breeding bans wont help all that much because theres always going to be idiots out there who just wont listen. Ive made my stance on this very clear before so I wont get started on it in details again. My thoughts are: If you're not helping to stop the problem, you're part of it. May be harsh but lets face it, it's true; nothing is going to stop, unless everyone starts to work toward stopping the overpopulation problem. Some thoughts of mine... -adopting dogs out should be a lot stricter (I know I want to see them adopted but records should be looked up about people) -breed clubs need to set limits (as said before, health checks need to be done and the breeder should be interviewed as well as the kennel being checked out so that only responsible people are breeding registered dogs) -there needs to be more money going toward spay&neuter programs (free or low pay for animals so people dont say its too expensive and the animals end up reproducing :roll: ) -more education programs on animal rights (it seems like people treat animals like they do because of the way they were raised) Hmmm... I know theres more but cant think of anything else right now. Oh and my long-needed apology to all the breeders I hurt from before. I went back and read some of the things I wrote before and I was shocked at myself. I NEVER realized just HOW rude I was to you all! :oops: :cry: IM SO SORRY!!! Please no hard feelings... gosh what a difference a half a year can make on your maturity! :(
