1. Are you talking about breed showing or obedience? I'm not sure about the USA but the UK don't have any restrictions other than to say the dog must be on a suitable lead for its breed and size.
2. Isn't it about time that petstores in USA were banned from selling ANY breed/mix of dog/pup full stop? I remember when I was 7 years old my family went to Florida and St petersburgh and we went to shopping centre that had a pet store and I remember being shocked to see tiny puppies in the window on display looking so sad with pleading eyes. Its not allowed in the UK, although some idiots do attempt it, but generally you will not see a dog/cat in a pet shop here.
3. Some people just need an education, and then again some people just don't want to listen. All you can do is try talk to him and explain why the dog should be castrated and as Court says pictures can sometimes be shocking . I wish you luck because I know what dealing with ignorant people is like
4. I would definitely recommend stainless steel bowls if the infection is around the muzzle area, and if your dog is a very messy eater ( some are more messier than others) then it doesn't harm just to wipe over his muzzle afterwords with a sponge. Dogs with wrinkles around their muzzle are especially prone to facial bacterial infections compared to dog breeds that have smoother longer snouts. Hope Asim is feeling better soon.

Day 51

Any sign of wet noses and tiny paws yet? :niewiem:
6. Meg is on a welsh dog food called CSJ which is designed specifically for competitive dogs and I have to say its brilliant and plans are in action to diversify the name worldwide.
7. Keep us updated on them if you can Shara. I hope that they get the homes they deserve including Mum.
8. Well I would use both but primarily voice with Meg because of the nature of Obedience here. I've watched dogs at Crufts get distracted by the crowds and miss hand signals, whereas they will always hear a voice command.
9. very nice pics and a wonderful portrayal
10. what wonderful progress it is to hear! :D
11. yeah and create a whole new line of health problems
12. :BIG: :new-bday: :bday: Happy Birthday Amaya! :new-bday: :BIG: :icecream:
13. Welcome back again Angel!! :D I can't see the pics either but weeman is a very good name for a chi :P
14. Those stories just make me furious... how people can give away their pet I just still find it hard to comprehend :(
15. Thats a shocking photo but I've seen it in real life when we did an undercover investigation for a programme called the Petset about the USPCA a few years back.
16. :fadein: Aww Thanks you lot. Feeling more positive today. It sometimes just helps to have a wee cry and get it out of your system. I think its more the fact that everything is changing and I wish it could go back a few years to when I had my job at the vets and would bring home a stray pup or kitten or fox cub to rear and was competing with Meg and life was a lot more simpler with no bg decisions to make. I'm just a bit apprehensive at the changes with my pets getting older and family circles changing. When you all moved out of home, what were your thoughts and emotions?
17. Good for you Abs! :D You're making a difference
18. Definitely report her as even buying a pup out of sympathy is still inversely supporting the situation.
19. Either you have been way misinformed Spinna or you are supporting the fad concept of miniature breeding, but there is no such breed as a miniature Rottweiler.
20. Any chance that there would be a pic online from the advert?
21. Its such a huge responsibility that goes on all day long with continuous cleaning. Its a shame your parents won't let you and believe me I know how you feel. I was never allowed another Border Collie pup and look at the age of me. That will all change as soon as I move! Your main concern if you want to help lies with these wee pups and the mother. If the owner won't spay her bitch and treats her like dirt, then contact the nearest humane shelter that have a no kill policy, so that they are at least given a chance.
22. This is the Aboistop collar that we used to sell in work. It works by a conditioned reflex mechanism (just like pavlovs dogs) so that the dog barks and the spray is released. Most dogs will take a few sprays to realise the association that when it barks, it will get sprayed, but in my opinion its a very nifty device and most importantly humane.
23. Earlier tonight I was tearful and at the moment i'm just unhappy in certain aspects of life. I know I don't talk much about Zoe and tend to talk more about my beloved Meg, but zoe bless her heart is 13 years old in 6 days and she just senses when Im upset. I go to her to talk to her and she paws me and nudges me as I sob like she did tonight. I love her for being so understanding and not judging like everyone else does. I'm sorry ..I'm just having a bit of a hard time at the moment with things that have happened, and with moving. :(
24. First of all excellent news :D As far as the comps go, talk to your instructor and if he/she isn't competitive then get in contact with your kennel club and ask about competitive training classes in your area and they will also give you a list of shows that you can toddle along to and watch
25. Then you have the idiot shelters here that have pit mixes in that are described as lab x's, as pits are banned in N.Ireland. Not good when the dog is returned with problems days/weeks later
