Forgot one thing angelbuddy, I am from Missouri!! Just moved out to Cali from there a year ago!
Really, what part of missouri were you from? I just moved out here about 1 1/2 years ago from arizona. Have you also checked for heartworm? It would not hurt to check. I don't think that may be the problem. I just think you have a very young active dog. And if the vet says shes healthly weight wise, then you should not worry. You can also get advice from other vets if you don't feel comfortable with what the original vet said. I would not worry so much, a lot of active pups at that age are slim. I would just give it some time. And for now you can try giveing her a can of dog food with her dry at night, bacon grease mixed in with dry food is good to put some weight on. But like i said you do not want to put any extra weight on that she does not need. It's very unhealth for dog to be over weight. Although it seems well to put weight on her now, it might not seem as well as she gets older and matures.

When you mean skinny, do you mean her ribs are sticking out? How old is she? And have you gone to the vet and asked him about her weight? The vet should be able to give you a special kind of diet to put her on if that is the case. I would first check with your vet first, because you do not want to put on any extra weight that she might not need. And young active dogs like boxers are going to be some what trim. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
  3. It looks like his head swelled up from a bee sting or something. :o My pups head looked like that once when she got bit by some red ants. She was just alittle pup. But i gave her some antibiotics and the swelling went down in a couple of hours.
  4. Now you would think that a shar pei and lab mix would not look so funny, right? Well while looking through our humane societys web site i saw happy. I even got to see him in person. His poor head is bigger then his body! He's face is just sooo cute though. He has got the lab body and just the shar pei head. Kind weird :-? What do you guys think of this poor guy? Black Labrador Retriever,Shar Pei Mix Size: Medium Age: Young Sex: Male I.D: 107311 Notes: Happy, is aptly named. He's a happy, happy boy. He is seven months old and is a lab/ shar pei mix. He will need to be neutered when he is adopted. He was put up for adoption on 5/23.
  5.
. When I was growing up we had a Springer/Brittany mix and he was the greatest. We had to put him down a couple of years ago. He was 14 and had some heart problems. We also had a GSD/Border Collie mix. She was a great dog, as well. She got out of the dog run and chased the UPS truck and got ran over. We had to put her to sleep, too. She was about 8 years old. I had an Aussie a while ago and I left him at my Dads house. My dad parked his truck in the driveway and it leaked anti-freeze all over and my dog lapped it up. I had to put him down, too. That was really hard. He was only 2 1/2 years old.
You have had some pretty hard times with pets. I would be affraid to get another dog after all you have gone through. I am sorry for all your losses. I'm sure you probally keep a good watch on your pup. I don't let my dog stay outside if we go somewhere because my last lab I had jumped the fence and got ran over trying to look for me. It scares me that the lab i have now would try to do the same thing.

  7.
Ugh, I know all too well about the SBD's. Licky will get upset with me if I stay on the computer for too long.....she will walk into the computer room, pass gas, then leave.
That is just to funny sheltielover. 8. I know this may sound alittle gross, but I thought this might be a funny subject to post. Has anyone ever thought to why it is that we know when a dog farts? There could be a hundred peolpe and one dog in the room, and just by the smell we automatically turn to the dog knowing it was him/her. Now there is no way possible that a human could have a fart as foul and deadly smelling as a dogs. So why is it that dogs farts are so silent but deadly? I bring this up because of the lack of sleep I got last night on the account of my baby-dogs farts and my husbands snoring. My baby-dog loves to sleep under the bed on my side. So it was pretty bad! But i fixed that problem with a plug on my nose and a pillow over my head. :evilbat:

  10. I would love to own a gray Weimaraner, But they are very hard to find here in springfield, missouri. They are such pretty dogs. I've wanted one for years now. Does anyone here own a Weimaraner? I have owned: Pit-bull/boxer mix,use to breed Shih Tzu's, Chihuaha(That was a great dog), Ridgeback, And a sheperd mix(she had black circles around her eyes like a racoon).A black shar pei (it was more of my husbands after awhile) I also owned a black lab (But i found her on valentines day, ran over by a car) My heart aches every time i think about her. :bigcry: I now own: A black lab. She is my special baby-dog. I love her dearly. :buzi:

  17. Such a good boy! He sure loves his mommy... My baby-dog will slip-up on my bed with me, til my husband comes walking down our hall to our room. Thats when she jumps down and hides under the bed. But that is my baby-dogs and my secret. He never knows that she sleeps on the bed with me for awhile. We are so sneeky

  22.
Angel, if you want to print/quote anything I say, feel free. It might help your case some to let them know that the lab mix they think is so friendly is NOT- all dogs, like people, are individuals.... change the mindset a little..... good luck!! :D
Thank you again for all your help on this. I feel the same way as you do. All dogs come in different packages. And every dog has their own personality, no matter what the breed. I appreciate all your help to. I hope you can get this worked out so you can bring your dog back....
Thanks courtnek, and I really hope so to. Boxer use to get some what of a bad press to, at least where i use to live in arizona it did. I remember it quit clearly, because we owned a pit bull/boxer mix. she looked more like a boxer.
