I just have to write about what my baby-dog did yesterday night. It soooooo funny  Well while i was watering down the grass with the hose my dog was jumping up in the air and flying towards the hose and biting at the water. I wish i could have go pictures. But i was the one with the hose. She got sooooooo wet! But she was having fun. The only problem was the water was getting on her more then the grass

Thank you for all your replys. I have done all the test necessary for her breeding ability. And they all came out great :D . I am not sure if i want to breed her quit yet. I've been doing alittle research on labs here in missouri. So far it seems that pure breed labs come at a great demand down here. There are a lot of hunting and bird hunting going on. In fact we have one of the largest hunting stores right down the street from us called "BASS PRO" I still have more research i want to do before completely deciding on this. I volenteered for the humane society for awhile and saw soooooooooo many mixed labs. That made me think some more. I don't want to see any of my dogs pups haveing pups of a mix and ending up in the pound. I've got so many freinds and family that really want a pup from her. But i need to think about everyones best interest. Mostly my dogs and pups. Thanks for your help!

Nutro max mini chunk is a great brand. Shed less, feed less, and less clean-up.

This may sound alittle disgusting but i have been concerned about my dog. I can go as far back as to when she was a pup. Now my vet says she is fine but i though i'd get some opinions from you guys. Well, ever since she was a pup her pee-pee has been such an abnormal size. Like she is in heat 24/7. But she is not. Because it looks as if she were part male when she goes in heat. It just sticks out soooo much from her back side. Also when she turned a year old, after her first heat her tittys hang down alittle as if she has had a litter of pups, but she has never. Everyone ask if she has had pups before because it looks like it from her pee-pee and tittys. now don't get mad at me please, but i don't want to fix her because i was thinking of having one litter. I just need to find the right male lab for her. Do you think i should be worried? The vet said she was fine, and that she is just different down there. Should i get another vets opinion? Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your guys support. I appreciate everyones opinion. And i love you guys :buzi: And i'm sure my dog appreciates your support towards both of us also, so i'll add another kiss for her :buzi: I have never gone back to that board since i've found you guys. My husband think i spent to much time on here  But i injoy listening to your problems and trying to help you guys if i can. And again my baby-dog(nostalgia) and i want to thank you all for all your help you have given us. :grins: :laola: :jumpie: :loveu:

the mother was not producing enough milk. And my baby-dog (Nostalgia) was very week. She was starting to eat wet food and becoming independent. The mama dog had 11 pups! :o And the owner/breeder had a handful to take care of. She was also a very good friend of mine and new that i've had past experiance in raising, and fostering pups. So she let me take this poor, little, weak pup home to give extra care to. Little did i know that i would get attached to her and purchase her after her 8 week point. But while i had her, i would take her over there every couple of days to hang out with her sisters and brothers. She visited her mom and one sister every once in awhile for a year. But then we moved out of state. But she is such a great dog and her social skills are unbelievable. I love her soooooooooooo much :calus

I don't think i would be able to leave my pretty girl behind. It would be like leaving my children with someone and have to worry 24/7. My husband would not agree with what i would do, :agrue: but i would put up any extra money it takes just to take my girl with me. :D

I am actually greatful that i never had problems with my pup. She was such a good baby-dog. As for the clicker, i've heard that they work wonders. especially on them working, hearding, and hunting dogs.

We don't have any pet parks here in missouri. At lease where i live we don't. I wish we did. My baby-dog would love to play with other dog.

No this was a male vet, But she was just as aggressive to the female assistant, that only tried to give her a treat and pet her before the male vet came in. I guess thats what really suprised me. :o
-
I agree with everyone here. The poor little dog. I just hope whatever your decision is the little dog and pups will be fine. Please let us know how things are going and keep us updated.

Thanks! I also wonder if that vet is a good vet to take her to. Can't dogs since things in people? I wonder if maybe she sinced something that i could not.

No, WE moved from arizona about a year ago. So i had to find a new vet. Nothing bad has happend to her. Just the female assistant came up to her to give her a treat and pet her before the vet came in. Nothing bad. And she prefers females over males. She is great with people coming up to her at parks and such. I just don't know what set her off. :confused1: She is in great condition and is very healthy. Oh, and when the vet gave her the shots it was in her rump? Is that right. I have never seen any vet do that! :o

I have a black lab that just loves playing frisbee. She has been doing it now for about a year. She loved to fetch balls so i decided to try her on frisbees. I first needed her to want frisbees. So i would act like it was a tug-of-war game at first. After getting it from her i would throw it a short distance, just enough for her to go get it to play tug-of-war again. Every day it would get farther and farther away. Thats when she started to catch it in the air. But with doing the tug-of-war thing, i had to start using 2 to 3 frisbees so she would drop one for the one in my hand. My dog and i only do this for fun, we are not in any tournaments or anything. It's just something we both do for fun. Your dog must really be interested in fetching thing, or the frisbee thing might not work. Good luck and let me know how it goes. :D

I use to be a past breeder of shih tzu's. The petfiner board tells me that i sould have never been a breeder and i probally was a bad one. They say this because of how i have had my pup since she was 5 weeks old. I explained the situation that my friend the breeder was in and also the pup. But they still say that i and my friend have no right to be breeders. I just though this was wrong for them to judge us when they don't fully know the conditions and situation. It made me feel like a bad owner! Now i know it is wrong to give up a pup at earlier then 8 weeks old. But i feel at certain situations it's ok. Everyone has a right to their own opinions, But they went to far.

I have a black lab that i've had since she was 5 weeks old. She is not an aggressive dog at all and has never showed her teeth to no one enless she felt like our family was being threated. Well when i took her to the vet for her regular check-up and shots, she lunged at the assistant and showed her teeth to the vet and tried to bite him. I have never seen that side of her before and it frightened me. I have taken her to the vet before and she has even gone to groomers plenty of times with no such problems. I wonder if she is trying to tell me something. And i am wondering if anyone has had the same kind of problems with their pets. At another post they told me that it was because i was a irresponsible owner. And don't know how to raise my dog. Am I? And what caused my dog to act so weird that day? Tick-o-Mania! Heat, and my grandfather...
Angelboddy replied to Rowie-the-Pooh's topic in Everything about dogs
They say putting alittle of any kind of cooking oil on the spin on the back helps prevent having as much ticks and fleas. My friend tried this cause she was a little low on money and it worked wonders for her dog. Hope this helps. And good luck to you and your pup. -
My black lab Nostalgia (aka baby-dog) Loves to catch frisbees in mid-air. When we go to the park i have to bring at least two frisbees with me. So when she comes back with one frisbee, i can hold up the one in my hand and she will drop the one in her mouth at my feet. And if she drops one to early i can just tell her to "go get it" and she will return it to my feet. What i like most of all about this, is she sure knows how to draw a crowd when it comes to my Nostalgia catching frisbees in mid-air! She knows that everyone is watching her, so she puts in her best every time. :smilecolros: :Dog_run:

Her name is Nostagia but her nic-name is "BABY-DOG" Being as big as she is, she still gets up in my lap like a baby and lays her head on my shoulder. She also comes by that name as well as she does by her real name. Shes soooo silly! :roflt:

He is such a handsome boy! You sould go for the crown. He is all a winner.

I volunteered at our local humane society for awhile. It was sooooo very hard for me to not adopt and take home all the dogs or cats that would probably never have a chance. And what the really sad part is our humane society's our so full these days that a lot of animals that come in are put down on the spot, with no chance at all. It's such a cruel world out there. And it's sad that they won't let you adopt the dog. I use to sit up at night's wondering if those poor dogs found a good home. I am soooooo sorry :( to hear about this. I wish there was something i could do for you and the dog.
