I have a black lab. And she is always sheding hair.I have to groom her everyday so we don't get so much hair on the carpet or couch. Right now i use a rubber "Zoom Groom". The groomer at petsmart said it's the best thing to use. But it does not seem to get the kind of job done that we need. Does anyone have any good suggestions on what to use on my black labs coat? I go to a group meeting every sunday night. And we are aloud to bring our dog with. Me and a fellow brings his dog. Well he has a pit bull and a lot of peolpe there starting to get all mad and judgmental about his dog. His dog is a sweet heart and has not done anything to make people scared. They never complained about my dog, just his. So now our dogs are not aloud to go to the meetings with us. This makes me soooo mad :evil: My dog and his are great group therapy dogs. They greet everyone that comes in with a wagging tail. It's just those few that see a pit bull and does not give them a chance. Now my dog and his suffers and has to stay home. I feel that my dog feels she has done something wrong to not be able to go with. Every sunday evening she sits by the door waiting to go with me. I wish she could understand. He just won't budge! :evil: Poor suede has gotten a lot more skiney then the last time i saw him. It really sadded me :cry: He was soooo good with the kids and he is also housebroken. What kind of tricks can your dog/dogs do? My baby dog can do the basics like; Sit Lay down / Go lay down Beg Shake Speak roll over And her weird tricks are: What do girls do? - Thats where she rolls over on her back and sprawls out. Dance - She will get on her hind legs and dance in a circle Get your tail - Thats when she gets her tail on command High five - Gives me a big high-five while sitting up Night-night time - Thats when see goes straight for her bed on command and stays there. Talk to me - Thats when she will start barking and grumbling at me as we talk. Oh, and she can also fetch a frisbee in mid-air but i'm not sure if you consider that a trick or not. It also could be from swithing her from one food to another. If you have been using eukanuba for a long time then you might want to give her awhile for her to get use to the switch. That is one thing that i worry about when i decide to switch over my dogs food. She has been on netro max since she was about 7 weeks old, and someone told me on this board that it was bad for her. I've heard switching foods can irritate their stomach and bowel movements. So you just might want to give it some time. [/img]

Have you removed the ticks you found with some tweasers? You need to get those nasty little ticks off her too. If she is not outside for now then she will be a lot less likely to get more ticks on her. As far as the frontline goes, I noticed a lot of that stuff is like some kind of oil base. I bought advantage to put on my dog and it smelled like baby oil. I would ask your vet first before buying some, just to be on the safe side. For now, you can try puting any kind of cooking oil down her spin. My vet told me that it works pretty well, because it will smother them and they don't like the very faint smell. I sure hope thing work out for you and we will be thinking about you both. I am soooo glad i know that now about petsmart. I would always take my dog there to get groomed, and bathed. The self dog bathing faciltiy's sounds great. I know my baby-dog would rather be bathed and groomed by me then some stranger. I wish there was some thing like that out here for us. I totally understand where you are coming from. I volunteered at our local humane society for awhile and i saw the most sweetist dog there. I begged and pleaded my husband to let me get her but he is not much of an animal lover. I stayed up for weeks thinking about this pretty girl, wondering if she will find a wonderful home. But of course the next weekend she was still there. But i went to work and found a great family for her. Try finding someone or a family that you might think will be a great home for her. There is not much you can do if you know that you don't have the kind of money to take care of another dog. I hope she finds a good home and all you can do is pray for her. I or my friend did not sell any pup til they we're 8 weeks of age. They were just mad because of the fact that i fostered this pup at 5 weeks then at 8 weeks of age I bought her from my friend. I took the pup over to my friends home every couple of days to let her be with the other pups and mom. I just took care of her and made sure she was getting food and the extra care that she needed. I was not planning on buying her, but i got so attached to her that i could not give her up. Even after all the pups were gone, i still brought her over to see her mom every once in a while.
