My two eat grass all the time and it doesn't seem to do them any harm. They also love wood, which I do discourage.
Rocket thinks wood is a bone. The main reason I discourage wood is to keep him from wanting some when he's alone inside, ie my coffee table. The second reason is that it can be just as dangerous as bone splinters. Grass isn't going to hurt a dog unless it has harmful pesticides on it.

:D Congratulations! Now, I don't know which one to answer, I am an aunt to two JRT's. Be prepared to keep your new baby entertained, they are very active dogs.
-
 You should look at the AKC web-site, if it's not there then it's not a breed, it's a cross-breed. Any dog can be trained for what you are wanting, some breeds are better with children and other dogs than others. Good luck,

 Is that pronounced sholden (shih)-(triever) or sholden (shiht) (riever).
-
Breed a Bull dog and a Shih-Tzu, and you get Bull-Shih's.
Are you sure it's not spelled Bull-shihtz? Rowie, you do know that what she really wants is a sholden retreiver.
...... I also own a Rodesian Ridgeback X Rottweiler mix. but before i go shouting my love of these breeds i have some questions for you. 1. do you have children or plan to have them? if you do how old are they? 2. Do you plan on buying or rescueing a dog or is that still up in the air. 3. when you say "pitbull" do you mean American pitbull terrier, american staffordshire terrier, or staffordshire terrier known as "staffybull"? all of these fall into the "pitbull"catogory.
Bullygirl - I didn't know you have a RR mix, sounds like a great mix, and probably a big sweetie. Dogolover I do not have any experience in the particular breeds you mentioned but would like to add another question. Do you have a secure area for these breeds to exercise? if not how do you plan on exercising them?

:-? I know you are going to take great care of this poor baby. I hate to hear of his past. People just don't understand a dog's value and potential. http://homepages.udayton.edu/~merenski/doberdawn/dremel/dremel.html Check out this link, follow it completely and most certantly use the babies favorite treat, I use yogurt. I would go ahead and try the dremel especially on a rottie's nails. It's the sound and developing his trust that is the most important thing here. I would also extend her time frames due to the previous abuse. Hopefully in a few months you will have a snoring rottie. Good luck and I hope this helps.

I'm losing my boys for a little while...boo hoo!

:D Your welcome Cassie, Your breeder is the type of breeder I have aspirations of becoming. Sally will be my foundation stock, but that's not set in stone. -
(INGREDIENTS: Poultry Meal, Fish Meal, Kibbled Corn, Pork Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols), Extruded Rice, Beet Pulp, Plain Dried Blood Meal, Sodium Bentonite, Corn Oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols), Cane Molasses, Feeding Oat Meal, Liver Digest, Flaxseed, Potassium Chloride, Vitamins and Minerals.)
:o Where's the BEEF!!! Are you sure this isn't really feed? I got to go see a litter-mate a few weeks ago and he's on the Eagle Holistic, two other litter-mates & mom & dad have just recently switched from the Natural to the Holistic, and after seeing the difference after 3 weeks, I probably will soon be switching to the Holistic. Have to wait a little longer because of Rocket's frog incident. Kiger - I recollect you saying something before about all the quality dog foods having one particular ingredient in common, that is probably your culprit if your not using that ingredient in your BARF diet.

:D
Hounds, hounds, and more hounds. :D
And more Hounds, Hounds & Hounds.

I'm losing my boys for a little while...boo hoo!
Rosebud replied to imported_Cassie's topic in Everything about dogs
:D Cassie I am so proud that you are being a responsible dog mom and separating the boys from the girls to make sure that there are no opps! This really shows alot of class. I know how hard it's gonna be to miss your boys for 2-3 weeks, but I bet the peace of mind is gonna be worth it. Honored to be associated with you. -
:-? Sanvean, I do agree with you on two breeds, I hope you didn't misunderstand me, I was saying more than two breeds I would be leary of; if the breeder breed two breeds - I would just want a little more info from the breeder than if they just had one breed.
-
:D I know that some breeders will own and breed two different breeds, but a truly responsible/ethical breeder will not have the time to show, research and evaluate more than two breeds even if the only breeds they own are toy breeds.
-
:-? I would be very, leary of anyone that breeds more than two breeds, and I would really question someone who breeds more than one breed. A very respectable, responsible breeder will stick to one breed.
-
:-? I would suspect that since she doesn't do it outside that it's an allergy to something inside. Have you recently sprayed for anything with something new. bug-spray air-freshner
-
:D   Sally & Rocket will get up, wake me (checking on me) and then go right back to sleep. They are such good babies.
-
:D Glad he's feeling better. I'll tell you what that G/C is some goooood stuff. Crossing paw-paws on the test results.
-
:D Update on Rocket. He is back to his normal self and somewhat patiently waiting their trip to the park tommorrow morning. Now if I can just teach him that it's the frogs that made him sick.
-
 Thank you.
