Yes, I agree we all think our babies are the cutest and brightest ! Your babies are very cute !! DRAT !! I was just going to put mine on and the photo site I have them at , all it showed was red X's !! I sent a letter to the site, hopefully they'll rectify the problem. :evilbat: My signature is my first Jack Russell  Sassy, she's going to be 2yr. on July 29. When I can get into my pictures again I'll show Maisy,Gretchen , and Kato.
Picture this- Sally is laying at the entrance to the bathroom, Rocket standing in the middle whining , Sandy in front of me trying to push Pumpkin out of my lap (yes, he insists on sitting in my lap while I pee) and Miss Kitty hiding behind the shower curtain batting at it trying to get me to play with her. Ha Ha  That sounds like my house !! I haven't had any privacy in the John in 24 years :o !! If it wasn't a kid breaking in on me, it was one of the dogs and our cat does the same thing, only he does it to scare the dogs !!

 Jake is so sweet !!

Thankyou bk, Yes it has been hot and humid here too, I've been keeping them in the house as much as possible, with all fans going. Only bringing them out for their bathroom breaks. Sassy will go straight away for any grass she can find... long or short it doesn't matter. I feel like I've got a herd of goats !!

Gretchen my Lab/Rott does the foamy thing when we go outside and she runs around a bit and gets excited. What does she act like when this is happening ?? Hopefully it's nothing, but a little bit of excitement !!

Hello, Glad to see another Jack "owner" on here !! :D I love ya Erin, but I have to disagree about the Jack and cat thing  ...... I have two Jackettes, Sassy and Maisy, and I also have a cat named Kato. Never once have I had a problem with either one of them bothering :agrue: the cat, as a matter of fact Kato and Maisy are good buddies !! They wrestle and play with each other and they also groom each other !! :o Part of it may be that they are growing up together, Sassy is going to be 2 in July and Kato and Maisy just turned 1 in March and April. So they were all kind of babies together.

 That is an absolutely great story !! Is it true ?? Obviously the man knew his "Angel" when he saw her !!

Hi Shannon and Chrissie, I've been reading your posts and it's amazing that the bull mastiffs are quite the same with the allergies. :o I too have a friend that has a bull mastiff named Bruce. (after a football player on the Buffalo Bills) He has such bad allergies they have to feed him a special food that costs alot of $$$. I'll get the name of it on Monday. I babysit for her. He also has an under bite. His bottom teeth jut out over the top. Personally I think Charlie is just the most beautiful Bull Mastiff I have seen in awhile. Of course I haven't seen Dakota yet....... Sassy,Maisy,Gretchen and Kato send their love to your furry gang ! :buzi: Sassy and Maisy say they'd like to come visit their homeland !!

Who is this Don Bourke person ?? Is he somebody in Australia ?? Anybody that breeds mutts on purpose is an idiot !! :evilbat: And you should think a VET would know better !! Did you give her an earful ??? :agrue:

Good Job Starfox !You are obviously more mature than your friend and her parents !!

I think all stafs and any other dangerous dogs should be shot at birth. They are bred to be evil and that is what they are.I have never come across a nice one.People only keep them so they can make other people feel insecure.Evil things.Children are far more important than some dog,how would you feel if YOUR child was attacked by one????? .
Don't all pass judgment so soon, unless you've walked a mile in another persons shoes. Yes this person is being unfair and outrageous, BUT, read between the lines. This person is mentioning Children, obviously something has happened to make this person feel this way. Maybe a child was injured badly ........ We don't know and cannot therefore make heinous judgements, otherwise we are no better than she........

My jack russell is so afraid of thunder, Please help him!@!!
imported_Debbie replied to a topic in Jack Russell Terriers
Robert, Awww.... poor little buddy. :( I have 2 Jackettes, Sassy and Maisy. They aren't afraid of thunder but they do get very nervous and barky. :o I've had other people swear by natural calming medicines, like Bach Rescue Remedy and Ultra Calm (Doctors Foster &Smith). You can look up these in Dr. Foster & Smith catalog. www.DrsFosterSmith.com I'm glad to see another Jack owner in Dogo !! -

He NEEDS to be entertained, allright.....in a 6x9 jail cell, or a rubber room, with a straightjacket on.......
He need to go to jail alright but have some of the other inmates use him for entertainment.....
Yeah, picture it now ..... shower room, oops, he dropped the soap, bend over PLEASE !!!! :evilbat: :evilbat: What a PSYCHO that guy is ..... :x

He is such a handsome boy  Good luck !! I hope Freebee accepts him.
barking is a warning sign - informational - and only the lower members in the pack do it. Duke may not feel he is a low member, or, since he is a guarding breed, may feel that noise is unnecessary unless he feels threatened. Freebee only barks if a stranger comes to the door, otherwise she is really quiet. Alex wouldnt shut up - he barked at everything. And once he started, she would join in and it sounded like a barkfest here all the time (the neighbors dogs join in too) He may just feel secure in checking out the door. If he doesnt feel threatened, he might not bark. My old neighbors had a GSD, and it never barked (well, once in a great while) but if it suspected something was up, it would growl.... Also, wolves dont bark....not like dogs do. They make this silly "wooofffiinnnggg" sound, under their breath. Could he have wolf in him? I think he's fine - he may even start to bark when he gets older, and then you'll wish he would shut up!! LOL :D
I don't know about that ....... In my house my youngest Jack(1yr.) is Alpha dog and she barks her fool head off !! :o She's top dog over the older Jack (2yr.) and Gretchen (90lb,Lab/Rott, 2yr.) Gretchen rarely barks and if serious emits a low growly sound with maybe 1or 2 serious deep barks. I wish Maisy knew that being top dog she shouldn't bark !!

Actually I think mixed breeds are getting more and more popular. How do you think most of the recognized breeds came about hundreds of years ago?
You know, I always hear this and it annoys me to no end. Want to know what the difference is?? These new mix-breeders are not striving for anything except the almighty buck. There is no standard that they are working toward so they can get recognized by the AKC. How many years has the Cockapoo been around? It's still not a recognizable breed because all Cockapoos look different. If these people were interested in anything other then scamming money from the unsuspecting public they would be breeding Cockapoo to Cockapoo to create a dog that you could instantly recognize as a Cockapoo. Instead they just take any old Poodle and Cocker and stick 'em together. Some look like Poodles, some look like Cockers, temperments are all over the map, no health guarantees... Gimme a break, they are not trying to be a recognizeable breed. Bucks for Pups all the way. And to the person who spent $500 on a mix... Why didn't you try a rescue?
Kiger, I couldn't agree more wholeheartedly with what you have said. People are breeding anything these days and trying to pass it off as a "NEW" breed. Bull shit !! The problem with that too, is you never know what pups between two breeds are going to look like from one litter to the next. There is NO standard . It is purely $$$$$ money driven !! :evilbat: I don't know about anywhere else , but when people advertise mixes in the paper they are usually under $50. I have 2 Jack Russells , both purebreds, one of which is a great standard for the breed, but I NEVER considered breeding her , just because. I love the breed , but would never just breed for the sheer fun of it. There are too many dogs in rescue and pounds for that. :( Adrienne, I'm not putting YOU down, I'm glad you rescued a Jack. :D They are great little dogs. His growling is definitely a dominance issue. :x As for his size, it's really hard to tell how a dog is going to turn out when they are a mix of 2 different breeds. Is your Jack a Parson Russell or a Jack Russell ?? And then take into account the size of an American Eskimo. It's kind of a wait and see situation. :niewiem: Both your dogs are lovely and in the future you will be more informed when you go to purchase a dog.

Lovely stuffed animals, but NO JACK RUSSELLS !! ARRGGHH !!
