NO way are you a bad owner!! NO way! You love Rowie....we all know that! It's not your fault..things like this just happen...it;s not your fault that your grandfather got sick or anything. So don't blaim youself...your a great owner! :P :D Hmm I dunno much about ticks....I know Zebra has a collar that keeps ticks off it;s called -Preventik, or Pteventic. Umm and there is Frontline that keeps ticks and fleas off dogs. *shrugs* other then thoes two i dunno. I'm sure there are other medications out there that can help with the ticks. Maybe there is something you can put in the yard, like a spray to keep the ticks off the lawn. Oh and make sure your lawn is cut real short...I think the less grass/bushes the less ticks. Hope this helped you some. And try not to be so hard on yourself, your doing the best you can in the given situation. :wink:

Oh I'm so proud of my Zebra!!! For the last 3 weeks every wendsday I would go out with my freind and leave Zebra home alone. I would usually leave him home alone for 6 hours untill my dad got home. I would leave at 9 or 10 and my dad would come home at 4. Well anyways Zebra has always had very bad seperation anxiety and would literaly tear up the kitchen from top to bottom. But for the last 3 wendsdays he hasn't done anything!! He hasn't gotten any cloths, food, towels, or anything!! I'm SOOOO proud of my little pup! :P Wow..I'm just happy. Oh and I soo happy with the Kong...I could kiss who ever created it! It keeps Zebra occupied for a long time! :D

I noticed that for the last month or so everytime zebra runs fast he always falls...like his back legs give out. He only falls on his back side and his front feet never give out. He's not in pain when this happens because he just gets right back up and starts to run around again. So I was wondering if that was just a clumsy puppy thing or if I should be worried about it? Sorry about all the questions lately. :oops: But it's my first dog and I just want to make sure i'm doing all the right things.

You all have such good/funny nicknames for your dogs. :P Zebra has allot of nicknames: -Z-dog -Z-boy -Zebanator -Tick Tock, Tick head (because he had a tick) -Baldy(he got shaved today) -Doggie Darko, Darko(after that movie 'Donnie Darko" -Devil Dog -Zebo, Zeba -Senor poopy pants -Gazebo -Zebernaut -Z -Puppenstein Oh that's just a few of them! :lol: :P

hehehe...what an ironic topic. Today we (my dad and I) went out because we had to go to the vets and pic up my brother. We took Zebra with us of course because he LOVES car rides. I had to get out and go to the store. So Zebra stayed in the car with my dad...when I came back to the car Zebra was sitting in my seat with the air conditioner pointed straight at him with a bowl of water next to him. He looked so happy because it was nice and cool in the car. When we got home he didn't want to get out of the car into the hot sun so he just sat there in the car. I actually had to pick him up to take him out of the air contitioned goodness. :lol: :P I don't know why people leave there dogs in the car why they go run errands. I wouldn't leave Zebra alone in the car even if it was winter. *sigh* it just makes me sad and angry to see dogs alone in cars with the windows up. They always look so sad and in pain. And it's very bad here durring the summer because it's always soooo hot. Today it was 90 degresse in the sun! and 100 in the car! :o

What a day!!! I had to take Zebra to the vets. (seems like we are always there). Ever since my dad took that evil tick of of Zebra he has been scratching at the place where it bit him. On friday I noticed that it was getting a little scabby and decided to take him to the vet today. It wasn't realy a suprise what the vet told us "zebra is having an allergic reaction to the tick bite". So poor zebra had to get a BIG shot for his allergies. Then they shaved where the rash was! :o OH it's soo sad but soo funny looking. He has a 5x6 inch bald spot on his side. Then the vet put some cream on the rash to make him stop bitting and scratching at it. Now I asked my vet about giving Zebra a tick medication and he said that the best one was a Tick collar.I think it's called Preventic...and he said it's NOTHING like the Hartz collars. I have never head of this Tick Collar before..has anyone else heard of it??? IT's on zebra right now..I just want to know if it's dangerous to him. The vet said it might make him sick if he eats it..but i don't think he will be doing that...well hopefully he won't. :)

OMG! How cute! and adorable! and cute! and cuddly! and fluffy! and cute!...did I mention CUTE!!!!!!!!!! Oh I want one soooo bad!!!! Oh no..I think i'm getting puppy fever.... :wink:

Thanks...everyones input helps allot. I went to PetSmart today and looked for some good food for zebra and all they have there is Junk dry food. So now I have to go to a specalized store that carries the food I need. And it's realy out of the way. Uh why can't big chain pet stores carry the good food?! It would make things so much easier. But I suppose nothing in life is ever easy. :lol: :P

Err I just found out that my parents gave him 2 also. So that is a total of 4. :o :( . I knew Chicken bones were bad..but I didn't know about pork bones. :oops: It is Tempting K!!! And the sad puppy look that Zebra gives me is HORRIBLE! But now I know better. Thanks again K. I realy appreciate it.

I'm going to buy some new food for Zebra this weekend so I was wondering what everyone gave there dog. I want a food that dosn't test on animals, I know there is a post about this but I would like to know what you feed your dog. Soo... What do you feed your dog? Why? Has it impoved your dogs health? Are there any cons about the food? Thanks for you input! :P

Marion- I do that to my pup too! and I have clean my rabbits eyes. My mom thinks it desgusting and she says it's a weird obsession. :P But if I don't do it no one else will. Rowie- I know what you mean. My best freind has a dog and no one takes care of the poor thing. It's not spayed and has NO training. and when I asked why her family hasn't spayed the dog yet she told me that "it's not a top priority." :evil: :x Makes me sooo mad!
