PitBull attack -- by a human-- it is a tearjearker!!
Malamum replied to GoldenLuv's topic in Amstaffs & Pit Bulls
Sometimes I am just stumped by human nature and ashamed to be a part of it    -
Good luck! Make sure you let us know how you go. :D

I know someone here used the citronella collar and said it worked great. I can't remeber who it was though.... if you do a search you may be able to find the tread.

Way to go Carol!!! That was an excellent letter. People not cleaning up after their dogs frustrates me to no end as well. :x :x :x
-
I like Peyton too

Indy is Indiana after Indiana Jones. We are pretty lazy and have even started shortening Indy to Ind or In..... Other nicknames are pumpkin, fuzzy butt, fat bum, beatle bum...

I am so sorry for you loss  rest in peace Bandit

Naomi - how is Zoe going, any more improvement? I walked into the kitchen last night and there was Indy with my mobile phone in his mouth about to go out his dog door with it :x . That was a lucky catch - I would have been so pissed off if he had ruined it. -
RnP, the second part of your first sentence caught my eye straight away and I literally almost jumped for joy... but then I read it properly :( I am so sorry you have had no luck in your search for Snow White   I will keep her in my thoughts

:o :o how scary. I would have needed to have my heart re-started too. I would get a screen door and tell your son that when answering the door only ever open the wooden door and to always leave the screen door shut.
have never had 2 at the same time. In my opinion, you're missing out!
In a way I do feel like I am missing out and I also feel like Indy is missing out on something too.......but what if I get a second dog and they do need to be separated. I would be stuffed... the second dog would need to go back and I just don't think I could handle that. So unless we move and get a different back yard that could be set-up suitably or we are in a position that I can cut back my working hours and be home more it's just the one pup for us. Bentleythewonderdog, I may be wrong (and I'm sure I will be corrected if I am) but I think in your situation you will be ok. From what I have seen small dogs seem to be able to live a bit more harmoniously together than some of the larger breeds.

Indy always gets excited over a new toy and that seems to be the new favourite for the next few hours or days depending on what type of toy it is. However he always seems to go back to his favourite, which is a little latex turtle/spider (not really sure what it's supposed to be) that we call Herbie. He seems to like to submerge Herbie in his water bowl till he fills up with water then Indy runs around the house with him in his mouth squirting water everywhere

I would love to get a second dog but I think that anyone who takes that on has to be prepared for the possibility that the dogs may have to be seperated when not supervised. Our home/back yard is not set up for that and I don't crate since I feel that I am gone for too long, so for the time being Indy will have to be an only child.

just awful, any information would be greatly appreciated

I can't really add anything to what everyone else has said but I live by the saying a tired dog is a good dog. Hang in there - if you perservere with what everyone has suggested it will work out. Also remember she is still only a baby so she will calm down as she gets older. -
Second trip to After Hours Vet this week!

Poor guy. I'm glad he is ok. -
Smear some peanut butter on something she can lick and she will be so occupied with the peanut butter that she wont even notice that you are brushing her
-
Well done!!! Sounds like the day turned out great after all :D
-
Behle - you crack me up :roflt: :roflt: Though I am going to put my hand up and say I thought she was talking about some kind of funky fish tank

I agree with Black GSD on this one. Ben is trying to dictate to you what to do. If you want to take Bella out on her own do it and just ignore Ben's carry on. Don't go back inside until he calms down, otherwise he will think his behaviour produces the desired result. Once he figures out that throwing a tantrum doesn't get him his own way then it should stop.

We bought Indy one of those trampoline beds but he has never used it once he seems just to prefer to sleep on the floor :-? I don't really like him sleeping on the hard tiles so I think I will go the route of making him a bed like suggested above. Although I can't sew to save my life I think I will just buy the foam and the fabric and take it round to Mum's or my b/f's Mum's and get either of them to sew the cover
