1. Fingers crossed that the weather is in your favour. Keep us posted on how you go this season - I just love hearing sledding stories :P
2. Fantastic news!! Can't wait to see more pics of him and Ben. :D
3. I know it's hard but you did the right thing. I agree with the others, if they live close keep in touch and then maybe you can mind her if they go away again or you can even set up play dates with her and Lucky and Chaos. Again - good work :D
4. Great pictures :D I think I am going blind though - I can never read what is written when someone posts in the very small text :-?
5. She is off to a good start. Sending lots of positive thoughts for a full recovery.
6.   LOL that made me laugh to - Angel all the other drivers will just think you are wearing a lovely hat
7. Hi Pitgal, Can you explain the issue a little further? How does the NZ govt affect QLD? If they decide they will hear your submition are you going to travel to NZ? Sorry if this is a continuation of from another thread and I've missed it.
8. When researching Alaskan Malamutes before getting Indy I read over and over again not to play tug-o-war, so being a first time owner I didn't. However I believe that this applies more to the initial training stage rather than for the whole life of the dog. Once pack order has been defined and the dog clearly understands and is settled in its ranking then there shouldn't be an issue with playing tug. Although I do think it depends on the breed and on the personality of the individual dog. With an overly dominant dog I would probably be on the safe side and find different games instead. I still don
9. While I would never personally have a dog dyed, I don't see it as cruel as long as the process doesn't cause the dog skin irritations or an excessive amount of distress etc. I think there are bigger fish to fry instead of worrying about people dying their dog
10. They will be fine - I think you are right though, sometimes us hoomans get separation anxiety worse than our furry friends. Indy is home on his own while we are at work for about 11.5 hours each weekday. I hate leaving him for this long but there is nothing we can do about it. We just leave him with his kong, big marrow bones and lots of toys. However I'm sure he just sleeps most of the day. When we get home he gets lots of attention and on the weekend we make sure we take him with us if we go out.
11. Hello & welcome to dogo. I had my boy neutered at 7 months and I admit I was pretty ignorant on the actual procedure. When he came home I noticed the same thing and had almost exactly the same thoughts. I really expected him to come home and have absolutley nothing there at all. After a while the skin did shrink and as he has long thick fur I can't see anything there at all now - nice and neat and tidy :D LOL - Hillside you cracked me up with the neuticles comment
12. There have been quite a few posts lately about BSL and we all seem to be as equally outraged. However we all have to admit that there is a problem, i.e. there are too many dog attacks and too many dogs in shelters etc.... If you were the person that had the ultimate power and the final decision was up to you, what laws would you put in place in regards to dog ownership? And what would your penalties or punishments be for broken laws? (I will post my suggestions a bit later.)
13. I'm sure I can find some not too flattering pictures of Indy too
14. Ignore it. K was right from the begining we shouldn't feed the troll.
15. That's a good idea. It will give me a bit of incentive to actually go to the Easter Show next year. I haven't been for years and have never been to the Homebush site. It's all so commercialised and overpriced these days and now that I am too old for Barbie Showbags I seem to have lost interest  but going to check out the dog shows sounds like fun. It's a date :D

Puppies update

awwwww that is just too cute. I am going to be the first to put my hand up and say that I am very greedy and that one pic is just not enough. We need mooooooore........... :D
17. You won't need to twist my arm too hard to get me to come and look at dogs with you. Just let me know :D
18. me neither.... and now I am very curious :x
19. I used to feed Eukanumba but switched when I found somewhere I could get Innova from. This choice was made mainly because of the ingredients/quality of the two foods. However, I don't like the thought of cruel or unnecessary testing on animals and was wondering if there is any info out there on what type of testing all the other companies do. Are IAM's the only ones doing this ... or are they only the ones that got caught?
20. Patience isn't one of my virtues  Though, I am glad they didn't get posted while I was away and I missed them.
21. Behle, I haven't yet congratulated you on Jerry's arrival so... CONGRATULATIONS Fingers crossed he is fully recovered in no time.
22. Before I went away I remember there was a post saying there would be pictures of Rowie soon. Did I miss them????
23. Way to go Freebee. I agree though.... be very careful. I know you want to do the right thing but you don't want to put either Freebee or youself at risk.
24. Aroura, ring them up and chat to them or start corresponding by email. You want to find a breeder that you can form a friendship with and most of the time your gut instinct will give you an indication on how kosher the person is. If you find a breeder that you think you want to get a puppy from then go and visit them. If you find any breeders in Sydney or have any shows that you want to go and watch I am happy to come with you or drive you there if you can get yourself to Sydney.
