I'm not too keen on the idea of putting a $ value on the stuff that Indy has destroyed. At the moment I laugh and think it is funny. Once I think of it in $ terms I may not be so amused. :o

We do the three injections here. I know how frustrating it is not to be able to go out of the back yard and into the real world. Puppy classes are a good idea for socialisation at this stage. I took Indy to classes held at our vet

That is really good news.

cute, cute, cute :D :D

Rowie I don't think I have ever seen a pure bred APBT in real life either. There was a guy with an American Bulldog at our training club on the weekend, that was the first time I had seen one of those in real life. He was such a cutie (the dog NOT the guy).

What a stupid article. Now people who seriously train their dogs for weight pulling are going to have paranoid neighbours report them. :-?

This is a classic. It doesn't make me feel as bad knowing that everyone else's dogs get up to as much mischief as mine. :D

What about Slippery Elm Bark powder? I don't have any personal experience with it but have seen others who recommend it for dogs with the runs or upset tummies.

Seeing the pictures of poor Deafaussielovers kitchen chairs prompted me to start this topic. I'll start. Indy has got to the following: * Video remote control - totally destroyed * Lounge - 1 seat all ripped and stuffing everywhere. I managed to shove all the stuffing back in and sew the seat up but my sewing skills leave a lot to be desired :o * Bed sheet - ripped to shreds * countless socks and undies * attachement off my new vacuum cleaner There are lots of other little things but these are the main things I could think of at the moment.

Good news!! I am so glad they are getting along better.

Pure Breed Alaskan Malamute without a home
Malamum replied to Angelboddy's topic in Everything about dogs
Oh what a shame, poor guy. I don't undstand how someone could have a dog for 8 years and then just give it up   . It is always so much harder for older dogs to find homes. :( Though, I would say he is an Alaskan Malamute/Siberian Husky cross. From the picture he looks like he has blue eyes, Mals don't have blue eyes, only brown. -
Thanks for sharing that info. We live in a pretty quiet neighbourhood so have never actually had an issue with Indy and loud noises but it's good to know just in case.

Thought it was probably something like that but wasn't sure. Disgusting!!!
Has your dog ever gotten herself trapped under a blanket on the bed?
I'd love to see that - sounds hilarious

I like the sound of your hubby HF. :D

:o Kind of makes me glad I decided not to show Indy.

Poor Zebra. I was a little nervous about giving Indy tablets at first but once you get the hang of it it's very easy. I get Indy to sit (then give him a little treat). I then straddle him from behind so I am leaning over his head (this is easy because he is so big) and put my hand under his jaw and tilt his head back. I then open his mouth and put the tablet on the very back of his tongue (again his size makes this easy, because my whole hand can fit in his mouth I can easily get the tablet all the way to the back without making him gag) I then close his mouth and keep his head tilted up and blow gently on his nose. He automatically swallows and the tablet is gone. He then gets the rest of the treat. The first couple of time were a bit awkward but now it only takes about 10 seconds.

:o :o I've never heard of that before. It's pretty scary.

I don't understand - why would greyhounds be treated different to any other breed of dog???

What the hell is wrong with some people

Good for you HF!!! It's a shame, but I am sure you will find him a great forever home and I'm positive he will have a great time living with you till that happens.

I believe so.
