hmmmm. Cassie forget my question. The shipping costs more that the actual dryer :o so that idea is out. I'll just have to to some bargining locally or put in on my Christmas list. :-? Thaks for your help anyway.

Thanks for the info Cassie, it was very helpful. I have asked around locally and looked up types that I can get here in Australia and there seems to be a big price difference. They seem to start at about AUD $380.00 :o The 2000AD seems to be exactly what I am after so I might order one from the US and get it shipped over since that would be cheaper than buying one locally. US $150.00 is approx. AUD $220.00. I did want to ask you what they were like reliability wise though. Do you have to take them back for services etc or have the ones you have used needed to go back for repairs etc. If I do get one from the US I won't really be able to just take it back if it needs to be repaired.

Oh dear.. I'm really worried. Please keep us posted and let us know how she is.

Hopefully it will be a nice day so he can play all he likes :D

Does anyone use a forced-air blower or dryer for grooming their dog. I want to buy one and am going to look for one this weekend but was wondering if their are any specific features I should be looking for? I don't really know too much about them or what would be considered a good one and what wouldn't.

Just wanted to share a funny story about Indy. When I go and visit my parents I always take Indy with me and he just loves my Dad. Their back yard is a fair bit bigger than ours and they have an area that is perfect for Indy to run around in. Dad always keeps two tennis balls outside for Indy, and he kicks them and Indy chases after them - they play this every time we go over and they play for ages. Well I went over last weekend but it was raining so Dad really wasn't keen to be running around in the back yard. Indy was not impressed. Mum, Dad and I were sitting inside at the kitchen table and Indy would stand at the door, look at my Dad, look outside and then woo woo. Since that didn't work he came over and started nudging Dad with his head but got told "No - it's raining I'm not going outside with you". We went back to what we were doing and Indy decided to go outside on his own, he then came back inside and then went back out again. He then came back in and started the nudging again (he was all wet by this time) and we realised that he had gone out to find both his balls, brought them inside and deposited them at Dads feet. When this still didn't produce the desired outcome (Dad going outside) he picked them up and spat them on top of the table - just to make it really obvious what he wanted. We couldn't stop laughing. After he realised that Dad just wasn't going outside with him no matter what, he lied down in a huff and had a nap.

Debbie, tell your hubby that a fence doesn't box you in at all. We have a relatively small back yard and when we were organising our fence some of our family members said things like "what do you want a fence for " "it will only box you in" "it will make your yard look even smaller" etc...... but now that we have it they are like wow - it really does look good and it actually makes your yard look bigger. I just can't resist and say I told you so

Although I do have tangible friends that I can go and visit and touch I also think it is very healthy to have cyber friends. I can be a little insecure and a little self-conscious at times, so there are things that I would share with a cyber friend that I wouldn't with someone I was actually face to face with. Since I have been at Dogo I have seen a lot of topics where people want to get things off their chests or share a problem and I think forums like this are a great medium for that as it lets people release things that they would normally keep bottled up inside. Oh - and my "real friends" aren't as dog crazy as I am. They think it's a little weird.

Shara, it's not about taking sides. No one is against DAL or "on the other side" at all. DAL will be missed and it really is a shame she no longer wants to be part of the forum.

Everyone wish Kiwi and Kobi good luck as they are heading off to their first show this weekend. Have a great time Kiwi - I'm sure you two will do great. Make sure you report back on Monday and let us know how you went. PS - don't stress about the kids - they will have a fantastic weekend with Grandma and Grandpa

I don't have any homework but Indy has eaten quite a few of our bills - I wish that meant I didn't have to pay them :-?
Wow Erin you are lucky to live in such beautiful surroundings
I was thinking exaclty the same thing. I know how you feel about the fence Erin. When we moved into our house it didn't have a fence either but after arguments with the neighours for a few weeks we finally got one put up and I couldn't believe how excited I was over a fence.

No I don't think so. If you were in the process of putting the dogs away then there was no need for her to be rude. I probably would have said something similar.

Nice to hear from you RnP, the kids are adorable as usual. The tug-o-war one is my favourite too. Still sending out lots of positive thoughts for Snow White :(

That superman costume is adorable. It looks great on both dogs

Congratulations! Sounds like she had a great time :D

What a little cutie. Have you started carrying him around in your handbag yet?
The stairway was not designed by Nascar and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help, because I fall faster than you can run.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, try to turn the knob, or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. In addition, I have been using bathrooms for years, canine attendance is not mandatory
Those two are my favourite - they describe Indy perfectly.

I'm tempted to try the tomato juice now... though with the amount of holes in our lawn I don't know why I'm fussed over the yellow patches :-?

DAL, I am assuming it was my post in the Guard Dog thread that upset you and I apologise for that. It was never my intention to upset you and certainly not to make you cry. For that I feel really bad. I didn't mean to be rude and I never used the words stupid or dumb. That is not what I was trying to convey or what I thought. My post was out of concern, not out of spite or nastiness nor was I trying to get the better of you – just trying to get you to see it from another perspective. I still stand by what I said, however putting things in writing is never the same as actually speaking to someone and sometimes things just don’t come out they way we intend or we read too much into things. I NEVER put down Cody or Zoe, or they way you treat them. I actually think the progress you are making teaching Cody commands by signal is fantastic. I was however worried over the enthusiasm you showed for their aggressive behavior and from the sounds of your original post it seemed as if you would encourage them to act like that in the future. It’s now a bit clearer that this was an isolated incident so maybe my concerns were unwarranted – again it’s very easy to misconstrue something from an email. I personally have never felt the need to have a dog for protection so I guess I can’t put myself in your shoes, however if you do feel it is necessary just make sure you go about it the right way. You are a valued member of the forum and I don’t believe that this is worth leaving over. No hard feelings hey.
