1. Thanks Jacsmom. It is an unusual sound. Indy did the absolutely adorable head tilted to the side quizical look, trying to figure out where the strange dogs were.
2. :multi: ohh that is great news. I would sent K our administrator an email I'm sure she knows how to get in touch with Marebear.
3. ahhhh... the world is full of stupid people.
4. I have never actually heard a dog bay.... you have me very curious now
5. Cool
6. Glad they got along so well. She sounds adorable. :D
7. Oh I forgot to say - yep I automatically assumed another dog too.
8. Congratulations - she sounds lovely. I can't wait to see pictures.
9. I'm a little torn between telling your Mum to stop patting him or to continue doing so. Courtnek is right - normally patting a dog after it exhibits bad behaviour gives the message that you are rewarding the bad behaviour. However in this case since he is growling because she is patting him then by stopping she is telling him that growling gets him what he wants. As an example - Indy doesn't really like having his rear end brushed so he sometimes has a bit of a grumbly growl however I tell him NO and keep on brushing - if I stop it lets him know by growling he can dictate what I do. He can't!! I decide when I brush him and not him. I know it's hard because poor Zebra is probably quite uncomfortable after his surgery and bored from being confined, however try not to let him get into too many bad habits because you feel sorry for him now. He will remember them once he is 100% and still expect things to work that way.
10. Sanvean, the lack of sun is a theory but I don't know if it's actually proven. I know of someone in Queensland whose malamute gets "snow nose" but they certainly don't have any lack of sun there, even in winter. So there must be other contributing factors but I'm really not sure what.
11. That's great news. Adult dogs are so much more accepting of puppies so it's a really good starting point to get Roxy used to being around other dogs. And of course we need to see pics of the cute pit puppy
12. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOLLY :bday: :bday: :bday:
13. I am so sorry. I can just imagine what a hard decision it was for you but it was the right one. Lots of hugs.....
14. She is beautiful. I hope you find someone who will truly care for her - it breaks my heart..
15. Poor Rio :( I'm glad he has you to take care of him.
16. That is amazing. I wonder if that family will change their minds about hunting from now on.
17. to true Mouse :)
18. She sounds adorable.... can't wait to see pics
19. Newfiemon that is an excellent brochure. Putting it in picture format really gets the message across and grabs attention a lot more than text alone.
20. :o :o LOL the image of Nancy helping Beth and her husband with their breeding is just too funny....
21. It does't really sound like seperation anxiety to me. If it was then I'm sure your neighbours would have complained about the noise - I'm sure with the sibe in him he can make a lot of it  and the destruction would be much worse. He is still fairly young and I think he is just chewing stuff becuase he can. I have an 18 month old malamute who is slowly progressing in the freedom he is allowed when we go to bed at night or when we go out. As a puppy he was allowed in the kitchen and family room but as he grew and discovered get could get things off the benches we started keeping him outside with access only as far as the laundry (again this is only when we are not home). As he is getting older we have started allowing him in the kitchen and family room again at night - we just make sure there is nothing tempting for him to get. He has been doing pretty well, however this morning when I went downstairs he had got a notepad off the bench and shredded it. For the moment I would just be very vigilant in not leaving stuff where he can get to it. Since it's only odds and ends here and there I would not worry to much... however if he starts destroying furniture or fixed items then it's a bit of a different story. Good luck :D
22. doh.... that was me
23.
Mel- do you think the fact Burke is with rival channel 9 had anything to do with running the report? Just my cynicism kicking in.
BK, we can be cynics together because I thought exactly the same thing. However as long as they are getting the right message out there I don't care what their motives are.
24. JM, I'm not there yet myself but I believe that you can teach them that wearing a harness means it's ok to pull but when wearing a collar it's not.
