:evilbat: Yep, it seems like everyone wants a dog with all the vaccinations, house trained, leash broke, slices, dices and makes julian fries while walking on water ---- FOR FREE! No one rides for free!

Gigi can you look at his paw at all? If not, wait until he is asleep and use a magnifying glass and see if you can see a piece of glass in his paw. It may break if you try to pull it out with tweezers, then again, it may not. You could use a piece of tape and see if it would stick to the tape and be pulled out. Peroxide may boil it out, depending on how stuck it is.

I especially like the "wanted" ad for the Border Collie, Aussie or mix! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am in desperate want for an english bulldog for x-mas.We would prefer a puppy but please be generous with the price. My parents are not willing to pay 1000 for a dog, so was thinking of more around 450-500. Or cheaper. It is okay if it is mixed with another breed as long as it will have the typical english bulldog structure. I already have a kitten of 6 months so the dog should be able to agree with it. I also have a sister that is 5 y/old. She likes to play rough. Oh yeah dogs do dream. I've seen some our adults nursing! So sweet to be dreaming of puppyhood. They have nightmares too. I always wake them when they are showing distress.

SHELTIE?!? OMG --- ignorance breeds ignorance. More humans SHOULD be neutered & spayed >>> stop the breeding of ignorance. Oh, yeah, I CAN see that the Sheltie looks just LIKE a Corgis and vice-versa. Where is that head smacking emoticon!?

Koolie, I post this somewhere else, but can't find it. BUT, here's a funny thing to visualize!! A lady in Texas has a Chihuahua stud dog and she breeds her two normal sized Heelers (one blue, one red) with the Chihuahua. She holds him up there and then holds him until he's done. Of course --- the Heelers are not registered and are not really what I would call "nice" looking either (I know that was nasty, but....they aren't). Of course, the dominant color pattern of the Heeler phenotypically passes on to the offspring. They do have the color of a Heeler --- but that is ALL. I wish I had a scanner!! She advertises and sells them as "Miniature Heelers" --- they are a freaking MIXED BREED!! :evilbat: AND people are actually thinking that they are getting a RARE MINIATURE FULLBLOOD HEELER! I have had a person argue with me about this. I tried to explain that the puppy he just paid $400.00 for, was NOT a fullblood HEELER, but was a Heeler X Chihuahua!! He was is such denial! And NEVER believed me!

Sleep? I didn't sleep the first 18 years after my daughter was borned! :-?

:o  I just got a visual.....joe cool dog sees good looking Poodle and pops a doggy mint into his mouth before he "barks" at her!
I don't think there is anything wrong with certain types of dogs being chained for most of there life. Hunting and herding dogs, for example, have to be chained up or they will trail or herd all day and night. We have herding dogs (Australian Kelpies and Australian Cattle Dogs) that are NEVER chained up. If we are outside they are out with us. When we work the livestock, they are working. When they are at their leisure, some are in the house or in their pen. Their pens are 16 X 16, some are 20 X 20 and some are 32 X 42. I have also heard this crap about chained dogs are more aggressive. This is just media hype and I don't buy it for a second. Chaining a dog up is just like crate training a dog, of course they don't like it at first, but then they get used to it, and they don't mind at all. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. -Johnny When a dog is chained up and when approached his fight or flight response kicks in.....he has NO where to go because he can't flee, so he shows fear aggression. This fear aggression is mistaken for "bad a$$ dog", or "an aggressive" dog, when if fact the dog is afraid. Over time, his confidence with build and he could become an aggressive dog without the fear factor. Believe it if you want, don't believe it --- that is okay with me, but it's a fact.

Okay, I have to ask...what are greenies?
I believe they are relatively new....here's what I got from their website http://www.kissablepets.com/ Well never mind that....It wont let me copy and paste! It's a chew treat to help with bad breath. Here is the product info link... http://www.kissablepets.com/html/product/product.html
Oooooohhhh, Okay. Isn't it funny how the name changes from State to State. I have seen something like this, but it's called something else (something that I can't remember right now  ). Thanks!! Boy, some of the kids COULD USE Greenies!!
-
If it wasn't winter, we could take him swimming. He LOVES to swim and will do so for hours. The vet said he'll have to go thru therapy, unknown exactly what they are going to have us do --- once the halo is off. Right now, I am massaging his back, shoulders and neck. He goes to sleep and seems to sleep better afterwards.
-
Let's see Southtown Pits --- one male's head is bigger around than he is tall. :-? The females are being bred at a year old (probably their first heat cycle). :evilbat: They are all short, squatty bodies --- and I would think too much mass for such a small bone structure (legs). Asking for elbow and joint problems.
-
OMG --- Mobsterpits --- ridiculous. I loved their spill on the "rare exotic" silver. It took them YEARS of selective breeding to create the right chemistry ..... and the color is extremely difficult to produce. SO FUNNY, because this "rare" color --- first, is NOT rare --- it is caused by a dilution gene and can be "created" in one litter, if they knew what color to breed to what color and what those colors contained! The whites ---- geez.
-
Jacsmom --- is he trying to wink?? He IS a babydoll. Can you believe he was ever that small?
-
:o Pizzle envy? YES, I wish I had a braided one! "Ace" does not affect animals like it does humans. We used "Ace" on the horses when needed, just not geldings or stallions. Why, you ask? Because sometimes, for what ever chemical reason --- the muscles would become paralyzed and the male horse could not retract his penis (it would permanently hang out --- NOT a good thing).
-
Okay, I have to ask...what are greenies?
-
Maybe a tiny bit of chow mixed in there? Lab mix, my thinking too. CUTE, though.
-
Oh yeah. That is so sad for both concerned. AND cats are the same way. I'd never leave a cat alone with a child. Little fingers smell like yummy milk, they are so easily chewed off. Does anyone remember the person that left her child alone to go buy some drugs and the pet rats got loose and chewed on the baby? The baby survived but, had terrible wounds from the bite marks.
-
Gigi --- just my personal thoughts here. No dog, no matter how sweet or how well adjusted, or how well mannered or trained should be left unsupervised with a child at any time for any amount of time. NOR should a child be left to terrorize the dog, like riding, slapping, kicking, hitting etc... I know that you know this, just wanted to post for others to read.
Yeah, Kika gets it for thunderstorms. She takes 1/4 of a tablet and is good to go! It's called aceosomething (LOL) I can't remember the real name. And pizzle...I might be nice enough to LEND you the GOLDEN pizzle for Guy... In all seriousness, Hobbit, I keep thinking about him and I sure hope he does OK.
Acepromazine? That is "Angel Dust" for humans. Thanks for the thoughts. Sometimes, I think I just not going to show up. But ignoring this won't make it go away. It will only get worse. And it is the best thing for him. I just wish it wasn't so invasive, and a little simplier procedure.
-
Hobbit can he bear any weight on that leg now?? (If he wanted to that is) That looks PAINFUL :( OUCH!! Sedate him!! Hahaha you will be like me with Jac... I feel for you and Guy!! Stuffed sheep!!  Jac likes Kongs stuffed with apples and bananas and cheerios...Froze them for 1 hr then he had to work at them for awhile (ok so 30 minutes is not that long) Hey GIGI, Hobbit needs to go get Guy some giant pizzles!!
Oh yeah, he can bounce, run, and use the leg. It is getting worse, though. And eventually, he will not be able to use the leg. The twisting is causing the ligaments and tendons to pull away from the elbow, thus dislocating the elbow (making it displystic). See, ... the ripple effect. So, we can have the leg fixed now ---- or have a whole lot of things fixed later. We just aren't going to put it off --- get the leg fixed now. When he cuts the Ulna loose, it will float back up and the elbow will correct itself. We are going shopping after we check him into the hospital (because we don't have any pet stores around here).
Hmmm...want me to send you some of Kika's puppy valium????? She's only 19 pounds so I'm sure the dosage would be close! GET SOME PIZZLE!!!!!!!!
Valium? Hum.... sounds like a plan! I hadn't thought about Pizzle, will get a case of them!
-
Just an FYI....I'm going to get some pizzle today over my lunch hour.
Sooooo, glad you finally decided to come out of the closet.....you....you...pizzle user!
