My Perry dogger is sooooooo sick

Oh my, HF. :( I'm so sorry to hear this, I hope Perry and Rocco feel better very, very soon! My fingers will stay crossed... -
Don't leave collars on dogs when you leave!
Rowie-the-Pooh replied to EmmeAndCharley's topic in Training
Thank you so much for that post! When we're not at home, or Rowie is unsupervised, we remove her collar. Whenever she is out in the garden, I take off her collar. For walks or for when she is inside the house she keeps it on, with her tags and everything. You are so right about them being able to choke, so many dogs have died in this manner (choking). When Rowie is in the garden w/out her collar she is supervised, so if she escaped the garden (which is almost impossible as we have very high double-brick walls and an electronic gate...but you never know) all we have to do is go outside and call her. And if she escaped the house without us knowing and ran outside onto the street she would have her collar and tags with our telephone number and all that... Also, this person I knew kept her dog's collar on 24/7. It was made of leather and he (the dog) was always pulling against it when on walks and he was often tied up. One day she removed the collar and saw that there was no fur under the collar, and that it was red, raw and bloody. You can bet your patooties she never kept the collar on him all the time after that! Also, the farm next to us have their dogs chained up 24/7 and the dogs have no fur under their collars (due to no air, and always pulling against the chain and collar). :( -
I'm so sorry, I don't know what to say. Boo had a great two years with you, I am sure. He'll never forget that, you made him a happy cat, rescuing him off the street! R.I.P Boo!

Urgh, I hear about this all the time. What a sad, sad situation...these people shouldn't be allowed to have kids. What if they fed them leaves to make them smarter? -

Today I was grooming Rowie and found a tick! This is impossible, I'm so sick if this! She has her flea and tick collar, she's inside 98% of the time, I groom her everyday, our grass is kept short and we spray the yard with insecticide every few months. What went wrong? Of course, I removed the tick (the right way, don't worry) and then found two more which I also removed. What's really getting to me is how the ticks got there when she had her flea and tick collar on? I bought it less than a month ago and it's supposed to work for three! Summer's already here where I live so that might be it. Plus her Frontline just ran out and it was the thing that got her rid of ticks in the first place... So tomorrow afternoon we're going to Dr. Nouni's and getting her some Frontline, then going to get a spray to spray around the house just in case the ticks are inside. I'm just so ticked off (no pun intended )... Just thought I'd rant a bit and give you all an update!
We don't get that show here (and I don't have cable TV) but I don't think I could watch anyway. Things like that upset me too much.
Me too. -
I think some of you guys can take your selves a little too seriously. So here...try some balloons oooo...on second thought some of you can be pretty bossy....better make it these ones
(First of all, I love LOTR   ) Secondly, no we do not take OURSELVES seriously, we just LOVE dogs and we've VERY serious when it comes to dogs. If that bothers you, then sorry, that's the way the forum is, you can't change that. Dogs is what this forum is all about, is it not? Atom came to us for advice, we give him/her advice. We try to warn him/her against breeder, breeder sounds fishy. That's it. Nothing more. That's what we DO here. It's a PUBLIC forum. We speak our mind here, no restrictions unless someone's feelings are hurt. A PUBLIC forum is all ABOUT opinions! Opinions, opinions, opinions. YOU can't change it. It wouldn't be any different if we were all together in real life, everybody would speak their mind. What's so wrong in telling Atom we felt something was wrong? Bossy? Excuse me? Expressing an opinion is being BOSSY?
