1. Can anyone even find my pitchfork?? It seems to be stuck in the last victim of the mob mentality of the board, which I can't find ANYWHERE...
2.    @ mnp
3. Whoa, where to start? :drinking:  I love the line about assuming being an unbecoming trait, ESPECIALLY in females. that is pure gold. Has totally made my day.       I am finding it hard to take SRC seriously. OK you have made some good points in other issues but face the facts, you are a BYB and it is well understood that BYBs contribute to the pet overpopulation problem. So by logic you are contributing to the problem you speak so passionately about. The rest has been ably said by others. I really don't understand why you would want more dogs when the ones you have already scare people you are living with (a situation which you yourself say is not going to change for some time) and are a danger to your other pets. That is not a responsible attitude imo. What does your mother think of you getting more dogs? Shouldn't she have some say in it if she is the one whose roof you're living under? Think of this post what you will... I don't really care what you may say in retaliation, as attending to the funeral arrangements of my grandmother and spending time with my family are a tad more important than checking a forum to see what other stories you come up with in your defence, for the same thing, AGAIN. Have a lovely day. :evilbat:
4. Both the guest and the rabid nutso "poodle" I think are in breach of the user agreement- poo posting, trolling, whatever one wants to call it, isn't condoned. Please take the hint people and piss off. otherwise you'll be banned.
5. Haha this is a good example of not trusting some members! :evilbat: You would do well to take a spelling and grammar course and leave this forum.
6. Maybe a ban is a bit of a knee-jerk reaction. I am just very mad at the moment and perhaps I should think before I type. Maybe we can all think it over for a few hours... because at the moment I am seething... and it is highly unlikely that RNP will come back to offer an explanation even if he does not get banned. I would be interested though in what he has to say (morbid curiosity too kendalyn :)) I still stand by what I said, guest and members should be treated alike. It is usually obvious to see who is here to start trouble and who is here to give genuine advice and/or information. Just because someone becomes a member doesn't exclude them from becoming trouble later on (Mary? Pouty Pitbull? Reedpuppy for the old-timers here?  ). K though is a safe bet; she is forum Queen and nobody would dare cross her :D :D Primrose- it's not so much that I disagree with RNP, but more that he blatantly lied to us that I am angry about. As I said, he can do whatever he likes with his dogs, however unethical they may be (the poor things). It is just morally wrong to lie about it, that's all. (discovered that i actually do have morals! woo!) I don't think Mei-Mei should have to apologise to anyone for her opinion, like courtnek and newfiemom shouldn't have to apologise for theirs. She is a fine moderator and has been most helpful in uncovering some of the first rnp scandal and is helping even now... i think we are all still digesting this information... let's give it some time to cool down and then make a decision...?
7. OK peple this topic has been split.. all the homelessness debate is in the debates section now (I couldn't split individual posts though so all congratulatory comments about Izzy are over in the other topic). You may all post on what a great person Izzy is here now! :D
8.
I think a few of the more outspoken here who rushed to his defense could apologise to the people who spoke their minds about a very suspicious situation. Threads were locked, members were castigated for their doubts and guests were made unwelcome on the forum and why??? Because the regular members leapt to the defence of RNP without knowing or being certain of the facts. All the guests were wrong...just because they were not members????????
This is exactly what I said before... and Kiwi also said... just because someone is a member doesn't give them more authority, or accords them more respect, than someone who isn't. It would do all of us good to remember that. (don't count trolls though LOL.) It is hard trying to be impartial as a moderator, and I hate to say this, but I vote also for a ban. I do not like being taken for a ride. Sell dogs, fine. Be a BYB, do whatever. Don't friggin lie about it and screw over everyone who previously thought well of you. The silence of RNP is deafening!! Please count my vote, K. :) And let me know what else I can do to help.
9. oh damn, I was wrong... nothing's been locked
10. yeah I know but I think it is strange how everyone is so quick to defend RNP just because he is a member (that's the way it seems anyway). I really think it would make a difference if he had just joined the site, or was a regular "guest"; to me at least, post count and longevity has nothing to do with the weight your opinion should be given. All I can imagine that if it were me in the same position (assuming he is not responsible for the ads etc) I would a) publicly state what was going on and b) expect to be questioned about them on a public forum I was a long-standing member of that has an obvious interest in the well-being of dogs. However RNP is not me and what he does is up to him, and I respect his wishes. I just think it would be nice to have some sort of assurance from the man himself as to what the situation is. That's all. I'm going to bed, I fully expect all hell to have broken loose by the time I wake up and will be disappointed if at least one thread hasn't been locked.
11.
But I also wanted to comment on the fact that Rott n Pitts dogs keep showing up for sale on the internet. Maybe it IS all a scam of some sort and he is a victim. But we know for a fact that even after Rott n pitt was exposed to a lot of education about how to find a responsible puppy breeder, and how to be a responsible puppy purchaser, he went out and bought a backyard breeder puppy from an irresponsible breeder and then chopped its ears off. For me, that is the mark of a person who does what he wants and doesn't much care about the consequences of his actions on dogs.
Yes it seems to be true that RNP's dogs keep showing up for sale. Maybe it is him, maybe it isn't. Is there any conclusive evidence either way? RNP sure isn't saying much; again, I implore RNP to publicly state what the hell is going on. You don't have to, of course, but it would be nice if you did; you are the only person who can clear your name. Your point about education was good (I can't find much to disagree with you about BYBs et al) however I would like to know who "we" are. Do you mean people from this board? Or from other sources? I would really like other board stuff (if that is the case) to be kept on other boards. This is merely for the sake of trying to keep some semblance of peace. :) I think I also find it interesting that guests who have valid points (not the trolls :evilbat: ) are treated with scant respect. How would we all react if it were a guest who had done what RNP may or may not have done?? :-?
12. Daisysmom, I think there is a whole assumption that people generally make their own luck and if they end up disadvantaged or homeless, then that's their own problem and why should we have to deal with that, whereas stray dogs aren't usually stray because of their own fault. Plus the homeless person wanting money for buying food and then cracking it if you go to buy them food (what do they want the money for then? drugs? booze? why not just say so like in Pygmalion?) angers a lot of people who do actually try to help sometimes. I'm not saying this is a good thing but I think that's the way it is... I wish I knew how to fix a lot of the world's problems. :( And dogs are much nicer than people any day.
13. what Jeff said... come on RNP... speeeeeak I am just giving a little warning... if this topic turns out like the other ones we (speaking for K, Mei and me here) will have no qualms about locking it.
14. Webster is a flat-coated retriever and he's 10 months old. (thank you Dogster for the exact age!) :)
15. The presumption is that where Izzy lives there are a plethora of stray dogs. Izzy has assumed, rightly or wrongly, that this dog is indeed a street dog. I am also assuming that Izzy probably has or will check to see if the dog is actually owned by anyone; by the tone of his post though, it seems as though the dog may be unfortunately homeless.
16. I say go and rescue him too :). Maybe if you take him to your vet, the vet will have a few ideas and can tell you what sort of shape the poor thing's in and whether it's better to put him out of his misery or treat him accordingly. If keeping him as your own isn't an option, maybe a rescue group if they exist? Good luck :)
17. LOL at everyone's posts  BK goes spastic when I lie on the floor too... I don't know why, maybe it's because he's taller than me if I'm on the ground? He gets extra excited if he's the one who's knocked me over in the first place by barrelling over to me at a million miles an hour and forgetting to stop, or playing chicken (naturally this always happens in a public place, like the dog park). Tomson gets even more excited (actually all the dachshunds have been this way), he will do everything short of biting me to get me to play with him if I'm lying down on the grass.
18. Blitzkrieg would still be Blitzkrieg- it's kinda freaky that the name we came up with suits him so well, even though in recent times he's mellowed a LOT. The kittens: Isabella would be Minxy, because she is a minx and she has this evil little glint in her eyes which signify she's about to do something cheeky. Ferdy would be Buddha because he's got a bit of a belly happening...
19. AWW! What a cute little fluffball!!! That is the cutest little thing I've seen for ages!
20. voted :) Alfie is coming second :-?
21. I voted :) Champ is a cutie
22. oooh yeah now I can see it would be a problem with choke chains... I was thinking of normal leather collars... the best thing is that you didn't completely panic and do nothing. Your quick thinking saved them and you should be proud of that. :)
23. You're not a bad mum- collars are really IMO a "damned if you do and damned if you don't" type of thing. I've never had a situation where any dog's collar has locked up with another dog's and I've never seen it happen with other dogs who have been playing, so it quite possibly was a one-off, albeit frightening, incident. Don't feel so bad! The fact you were out there in the first place supervising them means you must be a watchful and thoughtful mummy.
24. courtnek, I am a blonde too- I am a natural blonde but had my hair dark for years- now that I'm back to a reasonably natural colour it's quite strange how people treat me now- apparently I am way more approachable now than when I had my witch-like black hair. *shrug* - people now think I'm German (ok I do look very Nordic now and the long German/Dutch surname doesn't help lol) instead of Italian/Islander/Greek/Polish which is what I got when I had dark hair... BTW thank you K for clearing it up!! I was afraid the peroxide had got to my brain!!! 8)
25. Hi Fred :) Crates/cages/carriers are not generally used much in Australia (at least I don't know anyone who's ever used one) but several people on here know a lot about them. I think they are great if used correctly. i think with crates you need one that is big enough for Scoobie to lie down in, eat in and poo in. There are other members who would be infinitely more help than me on this.
