we've told you our opinion, and anymore "help" would only prolong the suffering of the pup, [b]PLEASE [/b]listen to these people if you're not gonna listen to me......give the dog back, wait a few years till you dont have to listen to your dad and grandma about their twisted opinions on how to raise your dog. It will be better for the pup if he/she just went to a good home where he can be outside and he can be loved ALL the time not just when you happen to be home, and when it does come time to get YOURSELF a dog come back and we will ALL help yo with it, :) but PLEASE do the right thing......the pup deserves it :)

ditto, your not giving the dog what he needs at all, either MOVE OUT OF GRANDMA'S or GIVE THE PUP TO SOMEONE WHO CAN CARE FOR HIM isolation in the bathroom is VERY irresponsible .....how was that guys? not crazy, or mean, or psychotic just nice and........nice :D

I know you all share my feeling here but I need to vent Today before I went to the hospital to take my stiches out I was watching animal planet's "animal rescue" they showed these elephants chained to the floor spread eagle, with huge metal shackels and these 3 to 5 guys were beating them with these HUGE sticks, the elephant would fight, the chains got tighter and the men would just BEAT it harder. The lady hosting the show said this would go on for DAYS non stop to "break" the animals, it was also done to baby elephants! I cant describe to you the rage that I have right now I cant even put into words what I desire to do to those fu*king people! If I could I would just go out and free all the animals in those sick road shows, I know of rescues in the midwest that will take animals that size and I would do things to those guys that mister Osama wishes he'd a thought of! I'm just siting here furious, it just pisses me off further that I cant do anything about it but send an envolope with money in it! Why cant I just go hunt these people down like the cowards they ARE!!

besides, for all the breeders out there you can find a perfactly good dog at your local rescue or shelter that most likely WAS from a good breeder the original owner just couldn't handle it Where we are right now I think the last thing we need is a bunch of money hungry pup farms, no matter how good their intentions are too many dogs need homes

sounds like hotwire is the way to go, I'll look around and see if I can find some good ones the dogs know not to go into the pond or flowers but when they get excited they forget, so I think it will only need to bite them once before they remember for good. I think its ok as far as the humane thing goes its only gonna bite em once or twice and it will not leave any permanant damage, besides I had to pay almost 500 dollars when oscar broke my waterfall pump and dug a hole in the plastic coat under the pond! :x

goo, I dont know if you are a big guy or not (or even if you are a guy :) ) but most of the time, I round up the guys and we will just go take the dog. Mostly if its that bad people around will testify for you and the police will be glad you solved their problems, I know its not always the best way, and you know your situation better than I do, but until the lawmakers get their sh*t together we have to do what we have to do. If you cant do it yourself call your local rescue, mine has a bunch of big bounty hunter lookin guys there and they love to do stuff like that :D

you are in quite the predicament.......I only feel confident in addressing your "potty" issue, I've never isolated a puppy in my house before. I never let the pups see me clean up after them, that way I'm not associated with the one who does the dirty work. or if they see me do it they will know its my "job" and expect me to clean up after them when they are done being yelled at. Poop and pee in the house is an ABSOLUTE NO NO for my dogs and I come down on them with wrath from the heavens when ever they used to do it. My dogs never poop or pee in the house cuz they know its the ONE thing that "dad" FREAKS out about. Dont worry if they yip and yelp its just how puppies are, they will get over it when you are done cleaning and you let them back in the house. however since your dog cant pee in the house I suggest one of 2 things 1) move out of you grandma's house 2) get a pet snake they mostly poop in their water so it is very easy to clean plus, no hair, no bark and no slobber :lol: glad I could help :lol:

well the way the back yard is set up I have two flower/exotic plant "islands" and a pond with a waterfall. If I come home late or they are chasing the cat or even just normal playing around they trash the 3 forementioned areas. I dont want to put a fence up around them, makes the whole thing a little pointless :lol: so what is the humanitarian point of view in regaurd to these things, do you use them? and are they completely safe? I've yet to do my research on these yet so, as of know I'm still in the dark

well, either really but what I saw was like a trip wire that ran in about 5 yard sections with small yellow beacons between each. My understanding was the dog triped it with his foot or leg right below the knee seems like it was about 8 inches off the ground. the neighbor said the dog never tried to jump it either just sounded a little, miracle drugish to me, ya know?

no matter how I change mine it ALWAYS gives me an American Pit and it wont give me my boxer above rank 13 grrrrrr! but then again they dont consider them high energy or obiediant, oh well I know what I want my girlfriend gets 3 differant kinds of poodle everytime :lol: :lol:

does anyone use the electric fences? I saw a neighbor use one, after his rotties got in trouble for breaking out AGAIN :roll: and was thinking about bordering my flowers, pond and waterfall so my goldies stop destroying them. what do you think?

ok goo I'll buy into it for now, but I still think they they have a genetic code for fighting, the pups I was talking about didn't even have their eyes open yet! you probably couldnt get a tazmanian devil to bite back that young, except out of fear. I'll tell you my real concern goo, these guys are screwing up these dogs and continued abuse like this, will lead to human agression, from birth. Than we wont even be able to have this conversation because there will be no debate! just for the record I dont consider pit bulls a bad breed, I think they might be the most abused breed on this planet, but they are not bad. gig, do you remember a thread awhile back about how we all wanted to kill people who fought their dogs? and remember there was that guest that kept calling us hypocritic barbarians? well in that thread I talked about twice I got to act on my promise to never let dog fights go on with my knowledge. I told you about a kid that I took his dog from and said that there was another time, the kicked pups were "the other time" it would not be appropriate to tell you what exactly I [b]did[/b] :evil:. But the police agreed with it and I did not get into any legal trouble, and I never saw or heard of a dog there again. they moved a month later and I REALLY dont think they ever abused an animal again :wink:

well the stats I read were breed stats not training or owner stats I think you have a valid point about breaking up a fight however if I stuck my arm in the middle of a fight (which, I have occasionaly done :oops: ) I wouldn't fess up to it when someone asked, then again thats just me. I would encourage you guest, to join us in the "Akita" thread as you may be able to shed some light :)

well okay your right but I consider the breed ability to take down a bear or bull pretty close to what I was talking about and I think my point is still valid. That left to its own devices that its instincts are to bite. I'll buy that the overly agressive ones were culled, by responsible breeders, but I know of people just down the street that were breeding aggressive pit bulls. Me and my girlfriend watched these guys kick the crap out of pups that were still breast feeding just to get the dogs to bite back. So I'm really not buying the whole, most of these dogs are bred to be family pets, because most the guys around here with pit bulls are only thinking about how MEAN they are. I might even go so far as to say these "type" of owners are the majority, thats why we all have such a hard time convincing the masses that pit bulls aren't bad, that its the owners. so yes a lagit breeder will make a family dog but most the breeders (at least around here) aren't legit so we get abused, mean dogs.

why dont you check at your local rescue, and ask them if there is a need for another breeder in town. if they say yes take a poor rescued shitzu home with you as an adopt.....if they say no, and you REALLY want one still, breed with him [b]yourself [/b]I'm sure you all would enjoy that, and good luck :) ps if you dont want my flak, come back as a real user and prove to this board you are a responsible enough person to breed this dog, upon that approval I'll grant you the ability to ask us for "stock" :)

yeah well Oscar was an only child so we joke that the whole litter just decided to combine so they didnt have to leave eachother :D
