1. Maybe some spaniel? Poor Poodles are the biggest victums of designer dogs, because they don't shed and are intellegent people expect that all the pups will get these good traits and then when they don't live up to the expectations the poor innocent pup gets left at the pound  She does look very poodle-y but if anything I would say maybe a quarter Cocker
2. I'll make a deal, you post retarded Rowie and I'll post retarded Lily, ok?
3. Why would you want a hairy pit puppy that sheds its hair? :-? LOL, sorry but I can't help but laugh!!! A hairy pit puppy!!! Hehe, cute  Are there any breeds that are born fluffy then shed to have a short coat?
4. Well the last time i was there I didn't even know what money was!!! Come to think of it, i actually do remember mum carrying me and pointing at things, then being put back in my pram. Ha!!! I can't believe I remember it so well!!! The only other thing I remember from around that age was running away (I think i was nearly 3 this time) to the canal kind of near our house and picking up a Doberman and a Golden Retriever and bringing them home, mum nearly freaked when i got home!!! Her little baby girl with two big strange dogs!!! She was attacked by dogs when she was 5 so needles to say she was scared for me, and couldn't beleive I'd brought home a doberman!!! LOL, the things you remember eh?
5. Aroura

Papillions???

Thanks Blondie. The more i hear about them the more I want one!!! Is your cousins a brown or black Pap? I like the Brown and Whites, but the Black and Whites are also just so adorable!!!
6. Haha!!! All I remember of the last time I went to the easter show is a whole heap of people and a bird pooping on my brothers head!!!! I thought it couldn't have been that long ago but I just asked dad and apparently it was when I was about two years old, before we even moved to canada!!! LOL, I must have a pretty good memory!!! Its a date then! :D
7. Thanks Malamum :D Hey, maybe at the Easter show next year? They have dog shows there don't they? LOL, and I could have a holiday while I'm at it! 8)
8. Yay for Freebee!!!! Keep your eye on her, get the other "good" neighbours to watch her while you're out. Good luck sending those scum bags where they belong!
9.
OH I love you Aroura!!
Ummm, thanks  8) Glad to help :D
That's absolutely correct. However, I did not intend for anyone to think I am advocating hurting the dog. Just enough pressure to make them take notice is usually all you need. You dont want to put so much pressure on it hurts, or they yelp. I may have stated it wrong originally. Think of it more like a pinch - just enough to feel a lttle discomfort, but not to really hurt.
Sorry Courtneck, I think we're both mis understanding each other a little!!! I think I may have done some miswording when I said "when something hurts Tessa...", I didn't mean that what you said should hurt, I understand what you meant  What I should have said is something along the lines of "if Tessa finds something unpleasant" or thinks that she is in trouble, thats what she does. Even at raised voices, she will go silly and start jumping etc, I think some dogs just don't know how to react to such things. Hope I've cleared that up!!!
10.
You got to admit Aroura those are some d*** fine ears!!!...I LOVE THEM!!!
Yes its true, but Lilys are better   Rowie of course I can help you!!! LOL, I wouldn't say I'm an "expert" but I have done a lot of research on it  8) I can assure you it will help alot with her breath, as well as her skin, coat and digestion! :D And all sorts of other things you would never even think of
11.
If you find any breeders in Sydney or have any shows that you want to go and watch I am happy to come with you or drive you there if you can get yourself to Sydney.
Thanks for the offer!!! I might take you up on that one, we can go and look at all the beautiful dogs together  I have emailed a couple of the breeders and got a few responses. I replied and have saved their emails for later reference and so if I'm ever heading their direction I can arrange to have a look at their dogs and become familiar with the breed and breeders! :D Rowie, the only thing I ever really worried about was the food, but now that I'm feeding BARF I don't have to worry about searching around for the best quality foods because its all right here at my door step!!! The vets have all the best worming tablets etc that they may also need from time to time. Sometimes when I go to Sydney I will see things that I would love for my dogs and buy it, but they are just the extras that I think are cute or fun at the time  Oh, and finding a new dog is nih on impossible!!! As I've found by looking around for a Papillon, I have found one that I hopefully might be able to get, but I have to travel 20 hours to get him!!! It'll be worth the hike though!
12. Yes it could have been a rotton tooth, get some anti biotics for it if you have to, check that the other teeth aren't rotting at the root. Let us know what happend.
13.
Plus she has got no sticking out teeth..and the EARS Rowie!...THE EARS!!!!what perfect, pointy, triangle, heavy, nicely set ears they are!!!
LOL, oh K, you make me laugh   She is very healthy isn't she Rowie? And those muscles are so toned!!!!
14. If he is biting you it is probably thinking that it is a game, especially if he gets excited and runs and bites at the same time. My main advice would be to teach him the word "settle" or something like that. If he gets excited and bites or something, tell him settle and you have to use your whole body language to calm him down, don't grab madly at him, but calmly hold him still with one hand while saying "good boy" and patting him slowly with the other. Don't pull away or make sudden movements. If that doesn't work cross your arms and look away until he calms down, then slowly bend over and pat him while gently telling him to settle. If he is in a particulary roudy mood even walk away into a room he's not allowed in, such as the kitchen. The dogs aren't allowed in the kitchen and it is ALOT easier to stand in the kitchen with visitors than to calm down four crazy excited dogs, once they get used to the person being there they can go out and pat the dogs when they have calmed down, there isn't a door but only a line on the ground the dogs can't pass. So if you have a room like that it is a great training tool, if you don't maybe you could consider making a room or space that you are allowed in but Coal isn't? Just whatever you do, don't EVER chase him or lunge at him, its only going to make him more excited and into his "little game". What Courtneck suggested may not work for all dogs. For example Tessa, if something hurts her she will just go psycho, run around, jump up and nip in submission. Lots of dogs will calm down with submission, Tessa just goes crazier. It made it hard to socialise her when she was younger as when an older dog told her off she would run around and grovel in its path making it angrier. I havn't seen Coal, but maybe his submission is like that? If so, a calmer approach to stopping his nips may be the way to go.
15.
It's strange. Bella is just four weeks (five on Tuesday) and I'm allready searching a little (not seriously searching yet) for a male. I'm just looking at pictures and pedigrees and thinking "hmm... that dog might sire pretty good puppies."
Hehe, I'm exactly the same!!! I don't even intend to get a show Pap for at least 5 years and I'm already checking out kennels and deciding where I'll import from!!!
16. Hmm, for some reason it doesn't show on my computer :-? I'll have to see if I can find it when I'm at uni...
17. Beautiful dogs  I plan to breed Papillons some day, way down the track!!!! :D
18. Now THATS my kind of dog!!! She's absolutly gorgeous!!! Where was she?
19. Yay for Coal!!!! Glad to hear he's going well!!! Wish he could meet Donna, they'd get along so well
20.
Reminds me of the time Dad and I were walking BK, on lead, in the street (on the footpath) and this girl riding her bike with her german shepherd OFF LEAD were coming from the opposite (and wrong) side of the road and she told ME to move MY dog off the footpath because her dog doesn't like other dogs! *huge rolleyes* For starters, 1. riding a bike on the footpath is illegal and 2. having a dog off lead and not in an off lead park illegal and 3. an aggressive dog should be controlled by the owner, to me that doesn't mean you can ride around with your dog and yell at people to clear off. I told her to jam her bike where it won't fit and she just glowered at me (but she moved lol). BTW BK was very well behaved, he just ignored the other dog. Sometimes he can be such an angel. :D
   How can some people be so ignorant and pig headed that they think the world revolves around them? She should control her own bloody dog!!!  Good thing Bk is such an angel
That happened to me the other day, this old guy was walking his lab and it came up to us and he yelled at me to grab my dogs because his dog dosn't always like other dogs, especially puppies.
His dog was off lead? Idiot. When I'm at training and people bring their dogs up to say hello to Lily, I let them know that she is not always friendly and just to make sure their dog doesn't become between me and her (they are all on lead), some times she is fine, some times she isn't, but when she isn't every one is aware of what may happen and no one ever gets hurt. My point is, there is a way to socialise dogs who aren't always friendly, and that way is on lead, where both owners know what may happen and it is controlled so that they can play, but if the body language aint right the dogs can be seperated before any thing goes wrong. People who like to "socialise" their dogs off lead and then tell other people to control their dogs because their own can't be trusted are just stupid and should be slapped with a fine for having an aggressive dog not under control!!! Don't worry Lucky, people who say they will kill your dogs are just looking for a reaction
21.
Awwwwwwwwwww, she's adorable! I agree that tie is sexay! Keep her away from the guys mind you, she's too sexy for her own good!
Oh yes and she knows it!!! :P A lecture would be great!!! I've read up so much on raw diets, but to listen to some one who has done years of research on it and actually published a book on it would be like a dream come true! Then I could come on here and share all my wisdom 8) Carol, Bonnie? I've searched the site and can't find a Bonnie :-? , I'm presuming Bonnies a Bull dog?
22. Very well said BK, if we couldn't voice our oppinions no one would learn anything and what would be the point of a forum? Yes, we have been a little harsh, I honestly don't think we drove her away, if she's not coming back its because she doesn't want to, or maybe she doesn't have a lot of internet access. Hopefully she will stick around, we may not all be supportive, but we can still help. There are alot of intellegent people in here, and although we may not always agree on every thing, we can share our experience and knoweldge and that in itself is a good enough reason to stick around, plus, once you know every one this forum they become like a second family, I beleive that at least a large majority of this forum honestly cares about one another, speaking for myself I talk about Dogo all the time and if some one in here is going through a hard time I worry, even when I'm not online they are in my heart. Pitbull_lover, please stick around, we didn't mean to scare you off, we may have had a bad start but stick around and become one of the family and I'm sure you and your dogs will be forever happy from it
23. The funny thing is, I didn't even know he'd print the article! I was just boasting on about the dogs and next thing he emails me asking if its ok for him to share it. Hehe, now my pooches can be an inspiration to all! :D
24.
Well presuming the very best possible scenario: This could be someone who is not aware of the horrible over population of dogs and the difficulty finding homes for pit bulls especially and someone who is not aware of all that should go into a breeding and that no breeding should be unplanned so that animal overpopulation and unsound breeding/traits are not contributed to and someone who is not aware that there are something like 6 cats and/or dogs born in north america for every person and that there are many special considerations to breeding as far as bitch and puppy health and safety and future home and life and betterment of breed genetics and public image.
Very good point DogPaddle!!!! The government is wasting so much money enforcing pointless BSL laws all over the place when in reality the money would be SO much better spent educating people on responsible dog ownership! TV commercials should be on every channel, showing graphic images of dogs at the pound, what could happen if people irrisponsibly breed their dogs, numbers on dogs put to sleep each year etc and they should reduce desexing prices etc. People need to know, good owners don't need to have their dogs taken away and killed simply because other people don't know about responsible dog owner ship. At least a trial, if they were to take one state, ban all BSL laws and instead have an ongoing responsible dog owner ship campaigne, compulsery micro chipping, rock bottom desexing prices, obedience programmes promoted, TV commercials, pamphlets handed out to all dog owners etc I bet they would show a dramatic difference, the number of dog attacks would decrease significantly, there would big a large reduction in the number of dogs at the pound and people and their dogs would be generally much happier and have a better relationship. I know this would work, and would be willing to bet my life on it if thats what it took.
25.
Aroura, I think that would be a PERFECT name for a Pap!!!!!
Yes, Little Scribbles!!! Awww, CUTE!!!  Unfortunatly I don't think I'll be getting litte scribbles for a while yet, I may have found a rescue Pap in Melbourne which is convenient because I'll be in Melbourne in a few weeks (yes Bk, I'm finally making the trip!!!). Main problem is this - ok, dad has fallen in love with the breed thanks to this GORGEOUS pint size little boy at obedience, but the problem is that he has fallen too much in love with him!!! Every time I mention a rescue dog dad tells me I should find out who Mr Wickems breeder is and get a dog from them. He doesn't want me to get a rescue and says if I'm going to get a Papillon I should "do it properly", buy from a breeder etc (Mr Wickems breeder, no others will do), but what I can't work out is how getting a rescue isn't "doing it properly". So unless I can talk him around it looks like no little scribbles for at least a little while... I'm very dissapointed  As for Fin, ummm Finiky? Er, Tuna Fin??? LOL, I don't know!
