1. Here are the pics!!! This is Frankie, this is the boy who has stolen my heart and I'm sure you can see why!!! This is Tempo. Isn't he just adorable? If for whatever reason I can't get Frankie, hopefully I can have this boy instead!!!
2. Oh oh oh!!!! I just had a look at her web page (I tracked her email down while looking for Paps for sale so hadn't seen her page before) and she sounds like a REALLY GREAT breeder!!!! Oh and the best thing is, she feeds a raw diet!!! And her goals of breeding are clearly stated, there is a long questionairre i have to fill in before she will consider selling me a pup.... how lucky is that??? After spending soooo much time trying to track down a Papillon i find a breeder who is absolutly GREAT!!! Her page is - http://www.joyvnture.com/homeaustralia.htm
3. I just got a reply from one of the Papillon breeders i contacted!!! She sent me a photo of two of her boys that are looking for homes and they are just adorable!!! I'll post them on here when I'm at home... this computer is a little hard to work out :-? Oh every body, please wish me luck!!! If i can pick up one of these boys (and the black and white boy is just a gem!) on the way back from Melbourne it would be every thing I've been dreaming of over the past few months come true!!! Ok, I've been dreaming of owning a Pap for years, but I've only actually decided it would be ok for me to get one recently, and you all know how much I'm going crazy waiting!!! Fingers crossed!!!
4. And has anyone ever noticed that there is two types of drool? There's the "I'm hungry, give me food" watery type of drool, then there's that sticky, adhesive drool that tends to carry bits of fur, dirt and sticks in it that gets wiped all over every thing
5. Oh what a nice thing for some one to do! If only there were more people like that in this world, and people like the farmer who shot the dog didn't exist
6. The funny thing is, I've never won a trophey or a ribbon in my life, now when people come over and they see three big blue first ribbons and a big red second hanging on my wall I have to tell them it was all my dog, I still havn't won anything!!!
7. LMAO Cassie!!!!!!!!!   Thats just too funny, reminds me of that scene in "There's something about mary"   Yes, Lily drools... especially when she thinks there's food to be eaten!!! Pavlov should have used Boxers (or Newfs!) in his studys, they would have been alot more effective!!! When I do the dogs veggie meals in the blender as soon as Lily sees the blender coming out she starts to drool, oh, and when I'm eating in front of her? Well she lies on the floor infront of me all frog legged with her head wedged between my leg and my bed and her mouth smooshed up against me... its so cute!!! Well until she moves and my whole leg and all over the side of the bed is just one big sopping wet spot!!!
8. Oh they are all so cute, but Honey is just TOO cute!!! Aww, I think I'm going to have to clone every ones puppys now :o
9. After BK posted this story I saw it on the news that night just when I was going to bed, I fell asleep crying (that combined with the pain of realising that some body had stepped on the tree i'd burried Mojo under, I was in a pretty fragile mood...). It was so saddenning to see those little kids - THE DOG WAS ON ITS WAY BACK TO THE KIDS WHEN THE FARMER SHOT IT!!!! How is that defending his property? What are the kids going to think about all of this? Not just the matter of seeing their dog die, but all of the other stuff that goes with it. If this man gets away with it, how will this effect the kids moral values? It is just so wrong, they showed a picture of where the kids were standing (still in their yard) and where the dog was, just on the other side of the fence. The kids ran inside as they thought they were going to be shot next
10. Yes DogPaddle!!! :klacz: Great point, couldn't have said it better myself!
11. Oh she is beautiful!!! Personally I wouldn't get it docked at this age, it would be very painful to have the bone cut as well as very confusing to have lost a limb. I believe in docking, but only if its done at a fews days of age, otherwise I just don't think its very kind :-?
12. Personally, just the thought of cropped ears makes my stomach turn. I'm against cropping 100% but docking on the other hand, I believe that it can actually be beneficial and its all over and done with when the dogs are very young. I know Boxers for example, 20% of undocked Boxers get severe tail injuries later in life and need their tails amputated, it is not only very painful for them but also very traumatic. I would rather just have my dog docked and not have to worry about all that extra stress, trauma, cost and pain later in life. Just MHO.
13. Well, it was competition day again today at training. There were quite a few dogs in Level 2 competing for a place and a pass to go onto level 3, and as far as I thought I was pretty sure Lily had some very tough competion - but obviously I thought wrong!!! Lily not only gained a first place in her group, but she was the only dog to pass!!! :BIG: :banan:  :laola: :calus: I'm so proud of her!!! Thats my baby
14.   I knew I shouldn't have read this one!!! That farmer should count himself lucky I'm not his neighbour because I can assure you, if they were my kids, and that dog was Lily I can guarentee he would be paying for it!!! My rage would get in front of any common sence I might have, I would honestly pay him a visit with a can of kero right in the middle of the night when he was asleep and least expecting it and I would burn his whole house down. That bastard would get what was coming to him!!!
15.
Hey, it's cool, I understand where you're coming from. Most people cannot accept this breed, let alone what makes it great.
Johnny, we accept the breed - in fact we love the breed! If we didn't love them so much there wouldn't be so much controversy over them because we simply wouldn't care that there are so many unscrupulous people out there who actually take pleasure in seeing their loyal companion get hurt. What makes the breed great has nothing to do with its fighting ability, its the loyalty and big heart that makes this breed one of a kind, some people just can't see that :-?
16. Aroura

Papillions???

Oh thats so nice of you Bently :D I've just had the worst day, it feels so good to know that other people are thinking of me
17. I'm only on ICQ, and there's not any specific time I'm on, pretty much whenever I'm on dogo, which is pretty much all my spare (and sometimes not so spare!) time. If anyone wants to add me my number is 159012933 :D
18. K, don't be silly - your a WONDERFUL mod!!! I don't know what we'd do without you most of the time!!! Just because we don't agree 100% with you on this matter, doesn't mean we don't RESPECT what you have to say, if thats what you believe so be it, its just that I don't happen to believe the same thing. Who is right? I don't know, does it really matter if its going to get in the way of a great mod doing an excellent job? I for one realise that Hmmm is very knowledgable and is a valuable member of this forum, I don't agree with what he does, but I must admit he knows his stuff and does a very good job at argueing it! I don't agree with anything to do with fighting and NEVER will, but yet I can still see that Hmmm has a lot of knowledge that would be a benefit to every one for him to share, and as far as that goes I'm 100% with you K, Hmmm has just as much right to be here as the rest of us. Sorry I missed the last time this topic flared up, I would have said what I have to say then if I was here, but seeing as I wasn't I have to put in my two cents this time  I know I'm not a mod, but I declare this topic closed. Despite what anyone says about it being a public forum which is open to any discussion, I feel when peoples feelings are getting hurt enough is enough, we should just let this one lie. I would hate to see any of this 'family' falling to bits over a stupid little debate where we should all just step down and agree to disagree.
19. Oh thats no good. What kibble is she on then? Maybe if she is breaking out you could consider another type? Doesn't sound like she's going too well on it :-?
20. Yes Roxy, thats why I don't intend to get a Pit - I'm having enough problems as it is with my Boxer!!! Yet I still don't see the point in breeding in more aggressiveness, dog or human, into any dog. My only reason for this is that I don't see the need (or even understand the desire) to fight dogs, so why make more aggressive dogs? There is a Pit at my obedience club, he is the friendliest dog there by a long shot, not only to humans but to dogs. His owner has trouble keeping him under control because he just spends the whole morning trying to play with other dogs! He's actually the dog who taught Lily to play again and I am very gratefull for that. It is dogs like him who should be bred from, not the ones who just want to attack the nearest dog, this boy gives the breed a good reputation while still conforming to the standards.
21. Aroura

First time breeder

Yep, they can also have false pregnancys which can put you on a bit of a downer if you've been through so much preperation! See a vet and put her on a good diet, remember she's feeding for god only knows how many growing pups now! Keep her warm and out of any stressful situations. What breed is she? Can we see pics
22. Hmmm, I never once said that you aren't doing a good job at what you are doing, by the sounds of it you are doing a great job, I just don't AGREE with what you are doing, and it breaks my heart to know that people still fight their dogs and that people are still striving to breed dogs that are more vicious and deadlier in the Pit. What is the point? I don't agree with what you said here:
Then lets go ahead and eliminate the breed. There is no need to have the American Pit Bull Terrier if the gameness is not in them.
Now that is an ignorant statement if ever I heard one!!! There are plenty of pet Pits out there in loving homes with no need for gameness, its only cruel individuals that feel the need to chuck their dog in a pit and get mauled to death that desire this gameness, personally I have no desire to own a dog that is dog aggressive, let alone intentionally breed them! Roxy, I would also choose a pup from Hmmm over a byb any day, but not because I agree with what he is doing fighting wise, only because he picks for temprement to humans. I see good breeding as a package though, and that includes breeding for dog friendliness.
23. Yes, I know we went over the top, but I don't neccessarily see that as a BAD thing. Some of us feel VERY strongly about puppies being brought into this world, especially puppies from inexperienced people that will probably have horrible lives ahead of them. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't have said what we did, I don't think we were over the top harsh either - we were just stating our opinions and if you don't want to hear oppinions why come to a forum? What I do think we did though, was give CONSTRUCTIVE critisism, how the hell is anyone going to learn anything if everyone acts all air headed and is like "oh, you let your dogs breed and you know nothing about them, good for you". We may have stated our honest oppinion, but we also tried to give our advice, its not our fault she didn't come back and take it. Only goes to show how irrisponsible she really is, not even prepared to take the advice when given to her, well if she can't take a bit of critisism over the net I'd hate to see how she goes homing those pups! First bad response she gets she'll probably run from and just take the easy way out instead - dump the pups. Sorry if I sound a bit mental at the mo, I've just had enough of irrisponsible breeders who aren't even going to stick around for the advice when its given to them. We spent good time on replying to her post and gave some good advice, the least she could have done was acknowledge it  Excuse my mood, I'm not a morning person!
24. I have to say I'm with Carol on this one, I must have missed the whole "Hmm fights his dogs" bit in the past. Its black and white for me - either you agree with fighting or you are discraced that anyone in this human race can even contemplate such a cruel act. K, I can see where you are coming from but will have to disagree - fighting is WRONG, no matter how you put it, weather you are doing it yourself or contributing by breeding for it. I almost lost a friend over his bitch. Her breeder was going to pay my friend good money to breed his dog so the pups could be faught. I said simply, either its me or the dog, you breed that dog and I will never talk to you again. It sounds drastic, but thats how I feel about fighting, I would rather loose a great friend than to see even one more Pit be bred for fighting pups. Thank god he chose me and desexed his dog. The way I see it, if you have so much knowledge of bloodlines and genetics etc, why not put it to good use and breed for family pets, with good temperements around not only people, but other dogs? Please don't talk about "ruining your breed" when you are also adding to the degrading of this lovely breed.
25. My dogs get bones every day and they are fine, though some dogs can get constipated from bones especially if they are not in proportion with meat. If you do see problems with her just puree some veggies with a little oil and an egg and it should pass right through.
