1. Ok yesterday Toby was out on his chain in the front yard. It was warm but not so warm that I left the door open. I was making lunch and I would come in to look out the window and then go back to finish lunch. Well one time I came in here and Toby was carrying his water bowl around the yard. I was almost done with lunch, so I thought I would wait to refill his bowl when I got done. Well about 5 or 6 minutes later I went out to get his bowl and it was full. :o I was really confused, then I got really worried. I had no idea what someone had put in his bowl and I was freaking out thinking someone tried to posion my Toby. Then the man across the street, who is as sweet an old man as there is, comes out and say "you sure have a pretty dog." I knew then it was him. He said he saw a big dog coming down the street and he thought he would go scare it off before it got near Toby. He also told me that he saw Toby's bowl knocked over and thought he would fill it up for him. I thought that was so sweet. After that I brought Toby back in because now the other neighbors big dog is loose. That drives me nuts. I don't know if he would try to hurt Toby, but I'm not taking any chances. That was the first time he had even come around in a month. I thought he ran away or was stolen(yeah I wish) No that's mean, but that dog is an absolute monster! Anyway, my neighbor nearly gave me a heart attack. I've never been that scared in my life. I'm very glad it turned out well!
2. Toby stays in the house almost always. I do put him out in the front yard when its nice out. He loves his crate so I usually put it out there with him. Most of the time he lays in it with his head sticking out asn just looks around. Sometimes he will run and play, but he prefers to be inside. McKenzie was another story entirely. She was not good at being inside. She destroyed anything that wasn't glued to the ceiling. She hated to be in the house. Except when she had the pups, then she wanted to be with them. We could hardly get her to leave them to pee. I guess some dogs prefer different living arrangements. I think it is better to keep them inside, but if they don't like it that way what do ya do?

Bark collar?

I have to say the umbilical training really interested me. I got to thinking, wow that would be a great trick as Toby tends to hide behind the furniture. Well it worked, he stays right with me, but sratched the crap outta me. He won't let me cut his nails :( I don't think a bark collar is bad in some cases. Now to use it 24/7 yes, but just at night or for training purposes I think it would be ok. Maybe the spray bottle will work. Toby is starting to get barky. Mostly at night. I think he is scared of the dark or something. He's a looney toon! Good Luck DAL.

Cutting Nails

I've tried petting him, treats, talking all sweet to him. If I'm around chew toys are totally out of the question. He has no interest in them unless he is alone. He has started chewing everything. I thought maybe his teeth are bothering him bad and that is why he is so looney. He ate a whole in the wall! He has attempted chewing on the door. Maybe he will get over whatever his deal is and go back to letting me cut his nails easily again. I can imagine taking him to the vet to get his nails cut. He would scream bloody murder. People would look at me like I as evil when I left. HAHAHA wouldn't those looks be something.
5. Ah military bases...thats where the rest of my breed has been hiding. Come on now, I'm lonely. I may possibly be the only housewife in my entire county. Well unless you count all the retired widows that live on my street.

Cutting Nails

Ok, here is my trouble. I have cut Toby's nails often since we got him. Not much just a little off the tip, mainly to get him used to it. I did bring blood a couple of times becuase he jerked  Well now his nails are very sharp. He just scratched the crap out of my neck. I was holding him and *wap* he got him. Well now when he sees the clippers coming he freaks out. I try to hold him and cut them but he starts this very horrible bark/howl thing. It kills my ears to hear it. I was wondering if anyone had any advice. What in the world can I do to calm him down? He honestly acts like I may kill him. He even treid to bite my face 3 or 4 times. What can I do?
7. I agree with apricot, but what do I know?

9. Wow......thats alot of hair!
10. Well maybe the woman will change her mind and let you have the pup, but if not stay positive. Things always work out for the best and it may be best for you till wait until summer so have lots of time to work with a new pup. I know you don't wanna wait, but that may be best for a new pup. If you do get this pup I would suggest you get it on a friday afternoon so you have all weekend to spend with it before going back to school. Now, it's nice to find out I am a rare breed! I get to stay home 24/7. Does that mean I can have all the dogs I want? HAHAHAHA I'm gonna turn into a crazy lady and have like 20 dogs and I'm not gonna share with the rest of ya! It's not very realistic to think people can be with there dog 24/7. I guess it's luck or stupidity that I get to be here. It's a budget stretch and I can squeeze a dollar until it drips blood, but I do it for my kids. I feel bad for people who have to place there kids in daycare. You never know what goes on there and if there are being given all the attention they need. I know a lot of daycares are terriffic, but some are down right horrible. I love being able to spend time with my son all day and being here when my daughter comes home from school. I also love Toby kisses 24/7. Its a good life, but you must make sacrifices. You have to be a tight wade. Very hard for me to learn, but I did it. OH anyways, I was wondering, does the pup have any seperation issues that would cause the lady to feel this way? I know some dogs freak out when left alone.
11.
I love my Furminator!!! With four newfs just entering shedding season, it is a godsend. For me, it was well worth the money.
I bet you would die without it. I can imagine all the fur you see. Have you ever thought of making newfie sweaters from all that fur. I've seen people that take dog fur and spin it into yarn and from there create all kinds of things. You would have an endless supply I suppose!
12. I never considered it a middle name, but I call Toby- Toby Toes. He hates to have his nails cut and whines like a baby everytime he sees the clippers. So Toby Toes sticks. I think NO is a terrific middle name!
13. Way to go Jackie!
14. Ok friends page should be up and going in about 10 minutes. Gigi, I will add those in a few minutes. Thanks guys, you are alot of help!
15. Your welcome. I meant to add petfinder to begin with. I seemed to have looked right over it on my list. I'm blonde! To much work at once my house has been crazy today.
16. You were right, I forgot petfinder. Doing to much at once... I will soon be starting a links to friends page, if anyone would like there site included just let me know!
17. I did just add a cool stuff page. I thought I linked to petfinder but maybe I forgot. I'll have to check that one.
18. Actually that was gonna be the next thing I added. I was gonna try to find some good site that sell dog related items. You'll be the first one on the page!!!!
19. Yes I would be interested. I'll go do that. Anymore ideas would be appreciated!
20. http://www.geocities.com/crystal_clear_579/ This is my site. I've been working on a site with links to all kinds of Dog stuff. Right now it is mostly rescues. Just thought you might like to check it out.
21.
I 100% disagree. That APBT is poorly bred. When it comes to current perceptions of pitbulls, lots of people imagine blue, mastiff looking dogs.
I felt it didn't look like pitbulls I've seen. It was a little odd looking!
22.
I have nothing to add except to tell you mouse that that pic is the cutest ever! Such an adorable squishy face!!!!!! :D
Ditto that! Cutest pup pic ever!!!
23. Teachers are always right. grrrrr drives me nuts!
24. Yeah, I was mean. I bought happy meals and stole the toys. I had to replace them with cake or cookies to make my daughter forget about em!
Except for the Violet Incredibles toy and the My Little Pony, which were mine, all mine!
Well aren't you selfish. I have a huge box of fast food toys. I got sick of them being all over the house. They are now in the laundry room up on a shelf. I don't know what to do with em. I can't bring myself to throw them away, but I ain't giving them back to the kids either.
25. Ah come on don't be embarassed. I gotta know. I promise I won't laugh. It was tough. :D
