Hillside, I Know how ya feel...stupid dog!
Crystal replied to Crystal's topic in Everything about dogs
There is no way I could handle another dog right now. Toby is a hand full. Just this morning he was in the crate and my daughter went over to pet him when he woke up. In his attempt to bite her he wedeged his lower jaw in the crate door. He was whineing, Brandi was screaming and I was like OMG. I had to open the door just a little squeeze my hand in pick him up, continue opening the door, and lift him up level with his mouth. Then it slid right out. It had me and him both a little freaked out. I guess he will not do that again! There is no way I could deal with another dog...But man he is so pretty!!!! I hope somebody adopts him. -
Those pictures are hilarious. I love Maya in the recliner. It's nice to now puppies on there back is a sign of contentment, glad he is happy. Thanks for the pics guys, I see a lot of back sleeping. Its so funny.
Do you mean a Dachshund?
I was assuming that was what was meant. A hot dog. There may be good ones, but I have yet to meet one myself.

I was just wondering if anyone else's dog's sleep in weird postions? Toby sleeps on his back, paws straight up and head propt up against the side of his crate. It's hilarious.

Wow really the grass survived bleach, that surprises me! I beat those worms were saying some pretty dirty things. Sounds like the best thing is belaching the yard.

I often check the local animal shelter website just to see what they have and wouldn't ya know it, I'm in love. I should have known better, just got a new puppy why in the world did I need to look at that. What makes it worse is he is only $9.00 to adopt, I wonder why? He must have already been fixed when they got him. I hope it is not because it is his last chance!!! I know they are working with the newly formed humane society now. I hope they have stopped putting animals down! They have recently added lots of room to the shelter so they could house more animals. My husband would kill me for even mentioning this dog. A friend of ours had one, and some people we go to church with got one a few months back. I know they can be a bit nippy. Our friends was pretty rotten, she would bite you if you looked at her. The people from church said there puppy is pretty easy going, but her mother was easily irritated. I would suggest never ever let the dog nip at you, make sure it knows that you are in charge, once you let it get away with nipping it will be hard to stop. I've heard they can be a little weary of kids too. Hopefully yours will be a sweetheart. Thats about all I can say as I have never owned one myself

It is people like this that are causing all the pit bull problems. They are causing the bans and the hate that people have for pit bulls http://www.pet-abuse.com/cases/3933/ look at the case photos...it's heart breaking.

That is hilarious  I guess it is all according to the dog and what you prefer. My dad has been attempting to talking us into having another baby. He wants another grandchild. I told him he was crazy. So when I got Toby I told my dad he had a new grandson because I got a dog. He asked what kind and when I told him Husky/lab mix, he said why do you get such big dogs. I said well I guess I just like them better. They have a min-pin, used to have 2, but the female died after eating part of a blanket. Duece(min-pin) is as tough as they come. Where they used to live my aunts Sharpei would attack him every chance he got. Duece fought back and always ended up at the vet with pretty bad bite wounds. That stopped when my mom made my aunt pay the vet bill. Then she made sure to call my mom when she let her monster out so they would not both be out at the same time. So I guess not all little dogs are that way, I just prefer big dogs the only exception to which is a Yorkie. I really really want one. Maybe one day!

Oh puppy breath, so amazing. I'm working on the picture thing. Can't con hubby into going to get the camera. The cutest thing just happened. Toby was in his crate asleep and he woke up and started whineing. Christopher, my 1 1/2 year old, goes and gets a book from the toy box, walks over to the crate, sits down in front of the door, looks at Toby and says "book", then he attempts to read it to him. awwwwwww :)
Know your rights in the State of Arizona! If you purchase a puppy from a pet store in the state of Arizona, you are protected by the State's Puppy Lemon Law. However, did you know that if you purchase your puppy from a breeder, you are not covered by this law? See the AZ State Revised Statute 11-1024 here. This law only protects you at pet stores!
Oh my goodness.....is that true??? If so it is only because law makers know the pups from pet stores are so screwed up and unhealthy that you are bound to get done over!!! Or they are just complete and utter idiots. I gotta quit looking at that site, I might kill somebody.
At Petland Fiesta, we go much further than Arizona State requirements. We give you the most comprehensive puppy guarantee in the nation. Statute 11-1024 requires pet stores to guarantee their puppies against illness for 15 days and hereditary/congenial problems for 60 days. At Petland Fiesta, you get a 21-day "No Hassle" Guarantee against illness at our qualified VCA Veterinary Facility. This allows your pet the highest possible veterinary care without having to request vet fee reimbursement. All other pet stores make you pay vet fees in advance and then make you fill out lengthy claim forms to seek reimbursement! In addition, Petland Fiesta's warranty gives you at least 2-years on hereditary/congenital problems (3 years on Petland High-Breed Puppies). No other pet store protects you better!
Wow 21 days and my pet won't get sick, what about day 22...And after 2 or 3 years with my new dog and we find a hereditary/congenital problem what are you gonna do abou it, you are just gonna take back the pet my family has grown to love and give me a new one, or give me my money back, and in the end put our beloved family pet to sleep because you are an idiot who breed screwed up pups in the first place. OH MY GOODNESS THEY HAVE A COUPONS PAGE

What the crap? That poor dog looks retarded. I'm sorry, I know it is not the dogs fault, but people are idiots. Boggle???Boxer and Beagle??? Who knows. I know all pups heads are to big for they bodies, but come on, how can that poor pup even support that giant head with that tiny body..grrrrrrrr  I am very mad now!

Thats a tough situation. I defiently understand where you are coming from though. Everybody wants a dog, but not everybody is responsible and ruined carpet is terrible. We rent and the woman that lived her before left her dog alone all day. They had to replace all the floors when she moved out. The carpets were ruined and smelled of pee. The lenolium(sp?) was even ruined because of the dog going all over the house. It is hard to have to tell someone no when they want a dog, but you don't you own it and it is your decision. If they can't handle it they need to buy there own house, or move somewhere that will allow pets!

Oh I know not all small dogs are that way, My parents min-pin isn't that way, but some of them our. My grandparents have a dog, not sure what she is, but she barks like she may kill you then she goes and gets on my grandpa's lap when you get to close.
-
I don't want there to only be dogs under 20 lbs. They make me crazy. There so Yappie. I told my husband the other day everybody needs two dogs for protection, a small one to bark it's head off when intruders are near. A a big one to scare them away when the small one tucks he tail and runs!!!
-
I was surprised to see Husky, St. Bernard, and Great Dane on there. I mean none of them should have been there...but I never thought of those as what society calls dangerous. What about Chihuahuas, some of those suckers are pretty vicious!!! (alright chihuahua owners, just teasing, you know they think there bigger than they are)
-
Thank you Jess.......That was driving me nuts.

they are also full of monsters. My son is 1 and 1/2 and he has so many different sides. 1 sweet when I wanna be 2 bang my head on the floor if I can't get what I want 3 throw myself down on the floor and scream when I am tired 4 refuse to do anything they ask 5 be cute and only say and wave bye after they are outside the house 6 run up to kiss mommy for no reason (lie, theres an extremly dirty diaper wating) 7 stubborn...completley 8 say I wanna go to bed, but as soon as she leaves I will stand at the door and scream momma, daddy. but I love him The day we got Toby he laid in the floor on his stomach and would push himself backwards into the dog. Now he just says "rub him" and pets him. So Rotten.

I'll second that...I was a little scared!
