I can't remember what boys are made of....shoot I used to say that all the time when I was little. Girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice, boys are made of...I draw a blank. Happens more often than most would think.

yeah at 3 o'clock in the morning right after he pees and sinks his teeth into my ankle, oh yeah that wakes me up. My daughter has to keep her slippers on or she may be missing a toe. The funny thing is he hasn't bitten the boys, hubby and son. Females must taste sweeter!!!

husky and Lab...he looks nothing like a husky though, except he sticks his tail up and it kinda curls a little towards his back. He is feeling much better today. went by the vets, got wormed and now he is acting like a dog. He had been so shy and never wanted to leave the crate. He still wants to be in crate, but he is fighting with a slipper and shaking his rope bone back and forth. He actually barked this morning. Up until now all he did was whine. Now I know why, his tummy was hurting. Now he is all bouncy and rotten, just like a puppy should be. Now if only he would stop bitting anything that moves!

He slept most of the day yesterday, and he got a little dehydrated. Went by the vets yesterday evening. They gave him some wormer...I really didn't want to have to get the over the counter kind I had heard it wasn't worth it. So anyway for 50 cents they wormed him and said he should be ok now. My goodness, I have seen puppies pass worms before, but never like this. He had em bad. I guess the people we got him from knew nothing about pups. I would have to say if other people who got one don't worm them before long it would probably kill them. Anyways, the people we got him from only had like 5 big dogs and the 6 pups, 2 cats...and who knows what else. Well he feels much better today. I think I know why he had seemed so freaked out the past couple of days. He was in pain...now he is jumping around bitting slippers and barking. He was nothing like that before, he didn't even wanna leave his crate. He even slept better last night, I wasn't up nearly as much. I did not know a lot about worms, but I did know it was important to worm the pups as they can get them from mom. I figured everyone knew that!!! Oh well...anyways he is better now. In 2 weeks he gets his first shots, so they will re-worm him then. Taken care of it!!!!

Well no pics yet, can't get hubby to go get camera...He's very busy, new position at work lots to keep up with and that's about all he can concentrate on. Maybe soon I can get him to go get it. If not I will just have to wait on my pics to come back from Walmart then I will scan it in the comp. As soon as as can I promise And his name is...oh it's killing you isn't it...your just dying to know. You wish I would tell you already. I actually mentioned it before we got the pup and hubby said he didn't like it...but yesterday he looks at me and says "lets call him Toby, it fits him" I said I already mentioned that...and of course he says...You did?...OH well anyway he is Toby.

I'm so glad it all worked out. If you try hard enough you can always find a way in all situations. Also it's nice to see someone who cares so much about there pet that they would go through all that to make sure they had the best care! Way to go for you...a lot of people would have the careless nieghbors look in on there animal.

I know I'm working on it....puppy isn't feeling good today. Won't get pics today

I know I keep replying to my own topic, but I can't help it...I called the vet and they did get to open up today. He can't get his shot yet, but she said I could top by and they would give him some wormer. she said 50 cents and my problem would be solved.

I couldn't get hubby to go up there and get it...and I am not drivning in 9 inches of snow. Also we are very tired...up every 2 hours...I defiently don't feel like dealing with IL's
-
Ok the more I think about this the more grossed out I get. My last dog never had worms and I have never had to deal with this. I don't know a lot about this either. I am scared to death to let the dog near my kids. Can the worms cause any problems with humans? I don't want to let him out of the crate because I am afraid he will drop some without my knowing and I will step in it......ewwwww gross. Now he has diarehea(sp?) not in the crate.....ok got him to his potty spot and there they are worms...I wonder if maybe the lady I got him from has given him wormer? I was told they wont pass worms without medicine..Is that true? I'm lost, don't know anything here HELP ME!

When I brought the new pup home I told my husband, I said look he's not all fat and round in the belly he must not have worms. WRONG...I had not seen any in his poop, but I just went over to the crate and there they were in the corner, no poop, just round worms and wettness. Maybe he vomitted them up. I heard his tummy rumbling earlier. I guess I will go out and get some wormer when hubby gets home. I can't take him to the vet yet because big snow storm and most things are closed. Will over the counter wormer help much? All I can buy is what they have at Walmart...we have no pet stores. I feel for him he seems to not feel to hot today.

Just got my mutt puppy yesterday.....husky/lab. I think it will work out great. I wanted a pup to raise with my kids 6 and 1 1/2. I thought it important for them to grow up together. I would defientley say go for a mutt. A dog is a dog. If it cost $800 from a breeder, $80 from the shelter, or free from an oops encounter. Just don't buy from a pet shop..we will hunt you down and harm you(jsut kidding) Hey go for the Mutt!!!! Everybody needs somemutty to love!!! :D

tough one. dog napping is scary and I think that if you had to take him and did leave him even for short hikes you would be so worried while seperated from him that you have a hard time enjoying your vacation. Maybe something will open up at the boarding kennel.
-
now which one is gonna be the male and which is gonna be the female...either way poor toy poodle. Pittles    You must make sure to charge $800 or what is the point...

I would have to say as long as you were going slow and held on tight and it was a good warm day,no harm done. If he enjoyed it It was probably ok. As long as you were being responsible. I've seen some people on tv with dogs in leather jackets sitting in side cars and they go every where with there owners. I would just be very very very careful, you would never forgive yourself if anything happened. I don't think its a big deal, just as long as you use your head. My husband has taken our dauaghter up the road on a motorcycle when she was younger. Of course she wore a helmet, I wonder if they make doggie motorcycle helmets?

Hey if you call make sure to let them know that those are the most exspensvie mutts I've ever seen. Shoot mine was free!!!!

Well since people are just tossing dogs together and creating breeds does that mean my new mutt is really a breed. I figured he was mutt, being husky and lab cross, but ok...lets see he can be a sklab huber labersky Ok honestly this is just stupid...He is a mutt and so are all the others. Call em what you want, but I got a mutt and he is the most adorable and perfect pet in the world and I love him....but I didn't pay some outrageous price for him. I have to say in my county we pretty much know a mutt is a mutt, you don't see a lot of designer breeds in our papers, just people wanting pure breeds for free or cheap.

Well we were not suppose to get the pup until tuesday, but due to the huge snow storm coming we got to go get him yesterday. So he's here, and he is sleepy. He sleeps quit a bit, he's pretty nervous. I guess you would be too if someone took you from 5 brothers and sisters and your mom. He is starting to warm up to us. He loves his crate, no complaints. We tried to get him to go potty outside, but he hates the cold and now there is about 9 inches of snow so we have resorted to paper training for now. If I let him outside to go he would disappear. He's gorgeous. Kind of a light tan color with some white, his legs are all white and the tip of his tail is white. He has some blackish/gray on his face and on one paw. Proud momma braggin here, sorry can't help it. Well just wanted to share my happiness, don't know when I will get pics up, but ASAP I promise. Still can't figure out a good name for him...but that's ok, it may take a few days. Right now he is puppy, doggy, or woof woof (1 1/2 year old son)

there are ads like that in our newspaper all the time. It drives me crazy.

Good for you and good luck!

Hey thats a lot better than how a kid would handle it. I mean they understood the dog was scared, but when I kid screams mom look at that, or man they guy talks funny the person doesn't seem to so much understand. My 6 year old embarresses me all the time. Atleast dogs just kinda back away and can't say something to really make you look like a jerk. Sounds like everything worked out ok
