all the poms i've met were complete spazzes lol. but very sweet once they calmed down. good luck. and like others said, please consider rescue. if you choose to get one from a breeder, please please please make sure they are responsible. meaning they compete with their dogs, heatlh test their dogs, have contracts, do checks on prospective buyers and they know where all their puppies are.

ok cool. so keesha's dinner tonight was 2 cups of kibble, 3/4 of a bananna, a scoop of cottage cheese and a scoop of peanut butter :o :lol: all for a lil 30 lb dog who is soooooo incredibly picky when it comes to food and will only eat once a day so she has to have one big meal. what a brat :wink: :lol:

i like the article, but i dont like the idea of telling people to get a puppy/dog for christmas. but i get what he is saying. :)

maybe this should be under the breed section..but umm...i'm not sure how many people check that section..so..umm...if ya dont mind it being here..please dont move it..lol..thanx Anywayz. My cousin bought an ESS months ago, from a BYB...*sigh*, not sure how old the dog is now but probably like 10 or so months...not real positive..can't remember when she got him lol.. so umm..he's a spaz..obviously..ESS's have tons of energy..she did research the breed..so she knew that.. but umm...she thinks he has a medical problem.. she says sometimes he sees stuff and sometimes he doesnt and runs into them... The vet said he might have a tumor that is pushing against his eyes or brain..not sure if they are going to have that checked or what.. She said she has trouble controlling him sometimes....so I suggested she enroll him into obediance..and she said she is thinking about doing that and just might.. she does have a 3 yr old and a job..and with my grandma passing..she has been very busy and what not..so it might be a lil while. She kind of asked me to come over and work with him.. umm..anyone have any suggestions? lol. oh and I think the person who she got the puppy from...probably has Barkley's father.. cause they live in the same lil village that the person that I got barkley from does..and barkley is obviously an ESS mix..so yea..lol I mean like...umm....yea...lol.. thanx :D i'm in a stupid moment right now so bare with me :P

i'm friends with a lady who helps out at adoptions days for straydog.. she said they were having financial trouble, of course wich rescue isnt....so we are trying to find ways to raise money for the shelter, in another group I am in(that she is also in) and we did a chat-a-thon a couple months ago and raised money for straydog too... sometimes rescues/shelters just get to overwhelmed and don't realize it..talk to bill..it can't hurt...if the dogs are suffering then whats the point ya know, the rescue is there to help dogs not hurt them....but sometimes peolple get blinded and think they can help all the dogs in the world..and.. well..that's obviously not possible... I respect straydog and all of the workers and volunteers and especially Bill.

sounds like they don't think the humans are alpha any more. alot of people spoil their dogs TOO much and it results in a dog that is in control of the house instead of the human. might want to contact a behaviourist...it can get pretty ugly when a dog thinks it has the run of the house..

Please get the dog neutered! It will help!!! I had my males neutered and their agression has ceased now! Even if people wnat a puppy from him, that is no reason to breed!! and breeding for money is just plain WRONG!

Eli is off leash in the backyard every once in a while, but I have to put sheeba in the kennel so he can rome free..but that's no often.. I take em to the baseball park now, and i am going to try and do that everyday. they usually play for about a half hour or so. i give em as much tiem as they want but about after 30 minutes they are usually bored lol maggie is always off leash, the only time we put her on a leash is if there are kids or lots of people around. she is off leash in the backyard, and she is off leash in the front yard when someone is out there, and she is off leash at the park, lake or wherever we go. it's because she is old and never wanders. ozzy is also off leash in the backyard, and in the front yard when someone is there, and off leash at the park and lake because he is a good boy and doesn't wander. there are leash laws, your dogs are suppose to be on a leash when not in an encloused area, but nobody cares as long as you have your dog under control.

look on his website. yea the chains LOOK heavy but that doesn't mean they ARE heavy(obviously demonstrated here because most of us, included me, thought the collar was heavy because it LOOKED heavy :lol: ) I bet those chains don't weight more than 5-10 pounds. and that is totally different from a heavy collar, a collar is around the dogs neck and the dog has to hold it's neck up all the time and the added weight damages the neck, a chain is just dragged and it doesn't harm the dog. it's like weight pulling, dogs can pull hundreds and thousands of pounds and it doesn't harm them :)

No offense but RESPONSIBLE breeders DON'T NEED to post their pups on the internet or anywhere else, because RESPONSIBLE breeders ALREADY have homes for ALL of the puppies BEFORE the dogs are even bred!
