raspberries -- you know that game where someone gives you raspberries on your tummy? does anyone do that with your dog? i do! gaia has no hair on the bottom portion of her tummy so it makes it irrestible. the funny thing is that she doesn't mind. with aspen of course his winky is there and i haven't been able to raspberry him. last night tho he rolled over on his back and his chest was pretty hairless (pred will do that) so i gave him raspberries fully expecting him to jump up with a look of terror in his eyes but he just lay there and let me do it.

i love aspen puppy face. even tho he is 3 years old he still resembles a puppy. people are forever asking his age and they are surprised when we tell them he is 3 because he really does still have that puppy cuteness about him. my favorite part about gaia has to be her rear end. she is nothing but muscle and when she runs you can see her explode from her back end. i love to watch that dog run -- her muscles glisten in the sun -- her power amazes me.

gaia and aspen are excellent fly catchers!

gaia is a foot licker too anytime she is near my feet she licks and licks. good thing i am not ticklish. aspen only licks when he has just come from the water bowl and he needs a napkin. he really likes to poke his cold watery little nose just under where your shorts hit sure to make you jump and scream.

how bout this . . . what if there is a ban on a specific breed is it ok for shelters to bend the truth to save the dog? several counties here in md have no pit bull rules which means any dog that is comes into a shelter and is listed as any portion pit is destroyed, period end of story. there are many ways rescues get around this and one way is obviously 'doctoring' their description of the breed or sending them to other counties :)

they call this 'big air' in the great outdoor games and i love to watch! gaia would do very well in this competition except she hates water :roll: the have another one for vertical height & distance called 'the launch'

i love it when dogs have a security (blanket) toy! that is precious.

yay aspen's regular vet (the one who does acu & chiro) is back from vacation and we went for a follow up yesterday. the good news is that his blood work came back normal (despite the fact he has been on a low dose prednisone for a year). the cultures and scrapings were also negative. this means it is not bacterial and neither is it mange. so that leaves some really crappy stuff like lupus and various autoimmune disorders :cry: when i told her that her business partner had recommended PUR-Fucking-RINA her eyes bugged out and she flipped. i also wanted her to look at aspen's teeth because they are really dirty despite my brushing efforts. he is not a bone/toy chewer because of his jaw problems so he gets a lot of tartar. the vet took molar extractors and chipped most of the plaque off. i gotta get me one of them tools! she got most of his back teeth. i realize to do it right he would have to be in la la land but this will help! so that's where we are -- still waiting! he has an appt in a week to remove stitches and the results will be in then.

now maybe it's cause my dogs have shorter hair but i really don't mind wet dog smell.

we just had to add mucho restrictions to our doggie classes in an effort to decrease exposure to the canine flu that is going around.
