2. Ok maybe its none of my business if you all want to argue with Primorse, but Id hate to see this be 30 pages long like the other thread. Theres no reason for this, were not getting anywhere... *sigh* ...and Ill say it again, when will the madness stop?!?!? :( Uh, K, were those 3 posts just in this thread or all over the board? Because there was only two guest posts, Sam and PitBullEmily (thats not including Primmy's numerous posts.)
3. Sorry but I dont think theyre cute. I tend to not like poodles, no offense HF and other poodle owners. Something about them.... Well, another "new breed" to add to the list. Maybe people will get tired of this fad soon? I sure do hope so but I doubt it.
4. You know Im sure if Sam, the guest who started this thread, wouldve said just a dog instead of a pit bull Primmy wouldnt be all over this thread. I think its stupid to argue with Prim, where does it get us? As for what this was originally about, I have no advice but I would say its better to trust what Mei has to say than Primmy. ...when will the madness stop?!?!? :drinking: :shocked!:
5.
I also firmly believe that all breeders should be licensed. And non-licensed people should be required to have their dogs neutered. I WONT budge there. This would cut down on a lot of BYB. less BYB means less dogs in shelters.
Although I completely agree with everything you said, this (what you posted and I quote you above) would be hard to enforce. If it could work that would be great but people break laws all the time and arent caught, this would be no different. Who knows, maybe people wouldnt try to go against the law but no matter what people would still breed without licenses. Its a good idea and it would cut down BYBs but not eliminate them completely. Maybe someone could try to email the government about the idea? They probably wont listen but its worth a try, right? I still think we should just rid the world of ignorant people though...
6.
PUPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want my pit bull NOW! BOO HOO!
I second that! At least you dont have to wait as long as I do! I have 4 more years of high school then college! Im guessing I will have to wait 8 years for my pittie! ...so consider yourself lucky! Oh well Im happy for you. :D
7.

As much as it hurts me to say this, bans will be good for them in the long run. BUT I think it should only be in big cities where fighting most often happens
Bans won't stop that. Bans will only stop responsible owners from having them. The lowlifes will continue to have them, and fight them. They aren't obeying the law anyway, why would they listen to one more?
Ok, maybe youre right, well no, not maybe, you are right. Gah! Dumb people. Why dont we just exterminate stupid people and then the world would be happy!
8. I decided to post weekly a list of pits from petfinder. I cant help but share such cute pitties, who just happen to be looking for homes! I want one so bad! This is Jesse, a female Pit Bull mix who is around a year old. I am about 1 year old. And my foster mom says I am the perfect dog. I'm a pit bull terrier who loves everyone, and I do mean LOVES everyone. I give big sloppy kisses. I also love all other dogs. Old dogs, young dogs, puppies, male or female, I get along with everyone. And the cats are nice, too. I don't even mind sharing the bed with them (though I would probably chase them if given the chance), I am a quick learner. I already knew "sit" and "down" when I came to my foster home. I could learn a lot more if someone would teach me. Adopt me, and I will be your very very best friend in the world! City Pet Rescue (CPR), Dallas TX --------------- Buck, a male 2 year old pit bull. Buck is 2 years old and is a very handsome fellow. He was abandoned at an area shelter at the end of 2002 when he was just a pup. He had open wounds and sores from suspected neglect or abuse. Buck has now healed and has a beautiful coat iis healthy. Buck is a very sweet and genlte guy who just loves attention from his humans. Buck needs to be the only pet....he gets a little excited when playing with other dogs and it sometimes ends up in a fight. Buck does not like cats! Buck would love to be an inside dog, although may need some help with housetraining, and also requires a tall secure fenced yard. He would make someone a wonderful companion in the right home. (just look at that bully grin! ) Bosco's person went to jail for 6 months. Bosco's person thought his mom and stepdad would care for Bosco until he came home. HE WAS WRONG! They intended to surrender him to the animal shelter because they had two dogs and refused to care for another. They kept Bosco locked in a bedroom most of the time he was with them. Bosco is emotionally deprived and grieving. Bosco was loved by his person (we got lots of background information on Bosco and his first home). He is completely up to date on vetting and until his person went to jail, Bosco had a good life. Hearts of Gold offered to keep Bosco until his person gets back home but the parents said "no" he is going for good. He is a great dog. You will bond with him very easily. My heart went out to Bosco and we had to rescue him. He didn't do anything wrong. He just got caught up in "someone else's mistake." What a bummer!! Would you like to take Bosco home with you to give it a try? If it doesn't work, we will always take him back. If you are interested in Bosco, please give Donna a call at (901) 491-2818. Hearts of Gold Pit Rescue, Memphis TN --------------- Im Snoopy, an adult female pit bull terrier. I was running down the street one day-very confused and scared because I didn't know where I was. I was really dirty & thirsty & hungry. And then this lady let me into her backyard. She gave me fresh water-I really liked that. She gave me good food & a warm bed-I really liked that too. She gave me a bath. I didn't like that. I love people and I love attention, and I'm also very good at taking care of myself. I enjoy laying in the sun and barking at bees. I love going on walks. Life is good. Oh, by the way, my foster mom also calls me POOPSIE!!! Good with Cats: Unknown Good with Animals: In Training Good with Children: Unknown Special Needs: Responsible Discipline Please contact my foster mom directly at mrich1118@aol.com if you would like to give me a loving, forever home. Rescue Me Pet Foundation, Los Angeles CA --------------- Hello, Im Conan a 7 month old male pit bull. Hi, my name is Leo and I was rescued by a nice lady who can not keep me. I am ultra sweet and looking to bring some love to your life. I'll be at Union Square on Saturdays, so come on down and get some licks! Marbles is an extremely social and energetic dog. He jumps on people when he greets them and tends to pull on leash. Obedience training would benefit him greatly. Marbles loves to play with tennis balls and will carry one around in his mouth as long as you let him. He will give the ball up very easily. He plays well with other dogs, taking him to a dog park would be wonderful for him. ASPCA New York City, NY --------------- Well thats it for now. Ill post more again in a week or so. Arent they just so cute! I tried to post from all around the US.
9. No youre evil! You showed me that pic and now I want her!!!!
Puppy: Can not take me places. Car: Can take me places.
Actually, ask anyone, dogs take you for a walk not the other way around as a lot of people would think.
10. PBL, I dont think name calling is going to solve anything! ...and anyways Im proud to be a weirdo arent you Starfox? Well, this IS a debate. I dont get why people are taking things personally. Maybe Im just odd but I dont see the need for stupid things like rudeness. *shrugs*
11.
That is true of most breeds, though, singling out the bullies is unfair. Most dog breeds have their quirks, which need to be understood by anyone acquiring a dog of that breed. Siberian Huskies will take off any chance they get, and are extremely difficult to train. JRTs are little bundles of energy that can tire you out just watching them. Many, many breeds are naturally protective, so can easily become human aggressive if not carefully handled. Etc......
Although I agree, I have to say its much different with bullies. Their jaws are much more dangerous than a JRTs and are more at risk to be PTS in shelters or to be fought on the streets. Bully breeds need to have owners that have experience in the breed or obvious knowledge of them. Otherwise I think the breeds will keep going downhill fast. As much as it hurts me to say this, bans will be good for them in the long run. BUT I think it should only be in big cities where fighting most often happens. I know here in Dallas there are fights ALL the time! It makes me sick and honestly I would rather see no bullys here than dead and injured ones. I love bullies and I think their needs to be more education about them. Some people may never change their opinions about these "dangerous" breeds but others may open their eyes! I wish there was a simple way to solve the problem these breeds have, but there isnt. *sigh* The ideas you all have are good, we just need to put more of them into action.
12. Thats horrible! Ill write to them when I have the chance.
13. Awww so cute! Dumb people! Well I hope the lil pup finds a good home, or stays with you where we all know shell be safe!
14. Wait, wait, wait! Then what was your point, Pitbulletta? We all know irresponsible breeders do sell their pups at pet stores. All I said was that they should be shut down... and for that reason exactly! I dont get it, what are you arguing over?
15. If petshops get their dogs from breeders then those breeders dont seem to be very responsible! And thats the point everyones trying to make here, theres a big difference in responsible and irresponsible! Breeders wouldnt be letting their puppies be sold through pet stores if they were responsible because they keep track of their puppies and make sure theyre in good condition. Lots of pet stores dont keep animals in good condition so the breeders youre talking about, most likely arent good ones.
16. Ill make one more post. I cant believe you all sucked me in. Breeding responsibly is better than not I guess but answer me what the purpose in breeding is other than carrying on good lines? And what defines good lines anway? Is it structure? Working? Temperment? I think it should be all three otherwise its not acceptable. Since Ive gotten to Dogo, Ive made judgements on different topics and even changed my opinion. Im more open to what breeders have to say now, then before when I was thinking breeders only added to the population. Then I thought, responsible breeders like the ones here, all find homes for their pups and keep good tracks on them, making sure if the owner would ever give them up they would go back to the breeder and not a shelter. Although Im pretty sure this rarely happens since the breeder screens the possible new owner thoroughly first. So responsible breeders, private breeders, what ever, are not the ones who have dogs and puppies in shelters, it is the irresponsible ones doing it. As for what to do about them, well IMO I think they should be shut down, problem is its hard to find a lot of them. So... Pet stores should be closed. No stores should sell live animals (except for perhaps fish, small reptiles, rodents and maybe birds). Pet stores are mainly what BYB and mills thrive on, so we should try to shut them down, am I not right? If they were closed, more people would go to the most convienient place, that being a shelter. Or if theyre more serious about it a rescue or breeder. Another thing is breeders should only be able to have one maybe two litters a year. I really dont see the need in having more than that, unless any of you breeders can tell me why? Any people who breed over that should have to pay, and the money would go to a local shelter. (yeah right though, government would snatch that money up! lol, but hey Im just trying to make a perfect world in my head  ) Oh and of course, breeders should stop trying to make new breeds! Im sure of all the types of dogs we have right now they can find a dog they would like! Of course with jobs I guess it would be a little bit different. That may be acceptable to breed for certain jobs like for people with disabilties just because they too are not getting rid of any of these dogs and are seeing to it that they are well taken care of. We need to put an end to irresponsible breeding! Thats whats killing so many animals! Start boycotting pet stores, spread information about them and theyre bad side, teach the world how to make a difference! We have to help the animals who are near their end because of over population, and we have to start NOW!!!
17.

Primrose MUST you start things up here AGAIN????? Ive tried to have a sense of humor about you like everyone else but I just cant... please leave dogo in peace so that we may once again be happy!
**************** Gee...does the fact that I am posting on this thread mean that you can't be happy? Why not? Isn't that a bit excessive? Have you tried just not reading the thread? primrose
Not read the thread? Gee, but if I did that I would miss people making a fool out of you! 8) And Prim, Im not going to answer your questions because I dont want to argue with you as some people chose to. I am simply showing you that you are annoying me so you have accomplished your job. Now go back to where you came from! ...BTW K, youre always so funny.
18. Primrose MUST you start things up here AGAIN????? Ive tried to have a sense of humor about you like everyone else but I just cant... please leave dogo in peace so that we may once again be happy!
19. Doh! I really didnt want this to start up again, especially after last time. Hasnt this all been agrued enough? Im so tempted to type my opinion but I wont because I dont want to get sucked into debating again.
20.
Yeah but why breed when there are SOOO many homeless dogs..WHY? that's my question to people who breed or want to breed dogs..responsibly or not...WHY?
Exactly!!! I just dont get it. If people stopped breeding, shelters wouldnt have to PTS dogs and other animals to make room for more when theres nothing wrong with them. Im against breeding all around, though responsible breeding isnt as bad as BYB. My doG, why cant people just stop to see how many animals have to die because of over population, that which the breeders are adding to!
21.
Other more rare breed (not sure if its really rare) I've seen are Newfy, ridgeback, vizlas, blue heeler, besenji, pyrenees, GS mountain dog, Irish wolfhound, italian greyhound, and Kuvasz
Hmmm... Ive seen all of those except a GS mountain dog, and a Newfie. The others arent really rare in my area. In fact, Great Pyrs are VERY common in Dallas it seems like. So are blue heelers and red ones too. My friend has a Viszla and I see ridgebacks a lot. Itailian greyhounds I see every once in a while. Basenjis are very cute! They come into Petsmart once in a while. Anyway, the rareest breed Ive ever seen? Uh... well I did see a Chinese Crested once at Petsmart. Oh and a Cane Corso. My fav that I saw once was a 250 lb Mastiff. Its face was so slobbery and wrinkled. I loved it! :D Ive only seen a Keeshond once around here but saw them once in a while and even knew someone who owned one in Northwest Indiana. Its amazing how different areas have different dogs. In my area it seems like the most popular dogs overall in the U.S. are rare and rare dogs are popular here. Another rare breed to see here is the ABPT. Well I see them ALL the time actually and is what I most often see, very popular BUT a well-bred one, not mixed, and fits standard now that is VERY rare. I saw a pit who weighed over 100lbs! :o A lot of people around here especially in west Dallas fight pits.
22. Congrats and hope you enjoy her company for years to come! Shes just adorable and youre right about that face! :D So cute!!!
23. Nope theyre not paying for the vet bills. We get crap like this every once in a while but at least when theyre returned we know theyre in good hands. Thelma got adopted again and the person who adopted her is a friend of one of the volunteers so its almost certain that it will work out this time! As for Louise people havent seemed interested... :(
24.
Just LOOK how frightend that pit bull is!! How could you subject that poor baby pittie to that evil child????? Debby
What she said! lol
25. Aw, cute doggies! The pics with the chicken are great! :D
