A dog raised right wouldnt react violently in any situation and thats the way it should be. ...but I have one thing to say in defense of that. Say the owner had rescued the dog at an older age and had no control over what happened to it earlier in life. Can you really blame it on the dog then even though it may have been abused and had to defend itself in order for it to not be severly hurt or even killed? I know I couldnt blame a dog for some sick person and their abusive behaviour towards a poor dog. Sorry thats just my side to it, if you havent raised a dog from a puppy then you dont have control over its past and what effect it has on the dog.

Is anyone watching Miami Animal Police on Animal Planet? I dont like watching it but I stumbled upon it and it really made me mad! Ok so what happened was they got a report about someone having pit bulls (up to 10) on his property. Well they get there and he has two adults but theyre not pit bulls! They still say theyre pits though and theyre making him get rid of them. They are bullies but not pits. Is it just like with that news article where they classify all bullies as pits, or what? One was a Staffordshire bull terrier and the other was some kind of white bully, either an American bulldog or a dogo Argentino or something of that sort. There was two puppies that looked to be APBTs but im not too sure. When the officer came back later there was four more ABPT puppies upstairs. So he got mad and was saying he better get them out or theyll be euthanized. Sorry for my rant but it really makes me angry when those stupid people call these dogs pits when they clearly arent! The pups, yes, its ok to call them that because they are and he does need to get rid of them if he wants them to live. ...oh and the fact that any person cant keep a breed because theyre "dangerous" is annoying too. :evil:

I completely agree with you! I hate the Detroit and Miami shows! They are awful!!! Animal Precinct is great and Animal Cops Houston is ok but the other two are horrible... especially Miami Animal Police. :evil: Pit bulls arent bad dogs and no matter what the situation they make them look mean. There was one episode where there was two pit bulls in a car together and the female was in heat. The male was acting aggressively because of that but they made it seem like he was doing that just because he was a pit bull! :roll: Luckily their woner found them a new home before they could be PTS. Detroit makes me really angry because they say pit bulls are too dangerous to adopt out. I guess I can understand wanting to make sure people are safe but not ALL bullies are mean. They dont even give them a chance to prove themselves through a temperment test or anything! Poor pits. :cry:

Well first of all, make sure you introduce them somewhere other than your house or yard. make it be on neutral territory otherwise theres a chance it wont work out. I would definately do it one at a time because your two might get the idea to gang up on the small one and be over confident and dominant. Be sure to have them both on leash obviously and I would get someone to help so you dont have any issues with fighting in the worst case. Of course dont get involved with them at first because healousy could be a problem. Feeding them seperately is s must but you most likely already know that since you have multiple dogs already. You probably already know, also, to not leave them alone together for a while until youre sure theyre used to each other. Im not sure what else to add to that, but youre an experienced dog owner so youll know basic things to be aware of and that I really didnt need to mention. Good luck with it though! I hope things work out!

Yeah, they do make it sifficult for people with dogs already to adopt but theyre just looking out for whats best for the pitty. When I do get settled and gets my dog(s) Ill be so upset because I want lots of dogs but if I get a pit I know I wont be able to... :cry: Jesse is cute isnt she? Shes in my city but I cant have her. When I say pit bull I mean the APBT not all the pther bully breeds. Anyway, thats so stupid a live was taken because of some boy's dumb actions. If you threaten a dog, it will defend itself. It doesnt take a genius to figure that out! :roll: Where were the kids parents when he was throwing rocks at the dog? Where was the dog's owner at the time? :evil: THis whole situation couldve been avoided if the dog was supervised outside and the kids parents were out watching him. I feel your pain! When I volunteer I always find favorites that I want so bad but I cant get a dog (or any other pet) for many more years, whenever I get my own place.

C'mon Izzy you know you want to keep this one too :wink: You are so great to always be saving these poor little doggies. ...hmmm, his fur texture looks to be more of blue heeler. Maybe its just me but thats what he looks to be. Either way he is a cutie! :D

Oh and another thing, big dogs sometimes forget just how big they are and use full strength when it isnt neccesary. Asim most likely was over exited about playing and forgot to watch about his size. tHe same thing happened to me with a great dane. We were playing outside and we got really rough and he was biting on my arms, then he bit too hard. They definately know they made a mistake and stay away for a while but just have X bribe him with treats to get them to be buddies again. Thats what I did, except with ice cubes because theyre the great danes favorite thing. lol Very messy though.

It could be possible allergies. I knew someone who had a Rottie who had to stay inside all the time because he was allergic to grass and would throw up and get really sick if he went outside too long. I would definately see your vet about it because it could be something small or could be big.

Well it depends on if the dog was male or female and whether or not the dog was altered. That makes a big difference especially if your dogs are altered. The other dog couldve started it by making defensive threats that may have been unoticable (sp?) to you. Its really hard to say without me being there. Maybe if you tell some more things, the dogs gender and if it was altered and if youre dogs are altered (sry I dont know much about your dogs, I feel like I should though.) Im guessing the dog was a male, most likely un-neutered, and thats why Roxie got along with him and Bentley didnt. *shrugs* Just a guess....

You have to keep in mind those Drs werent dog lovers and hear things about "dangerous" dog breeds. Rotties have a bad rap and uneducated people assume the worst about them. It was an accident, dont worry about it. Youll have to get Asim and X to be buddies again though. Poor Asim probably feels horrible about it and X must be sad his dog wont come near him. :( I feel bad for them both and you too for your guilty feeling because of those stupid Drs! :evil:

Well on Designer Dogs (yes I know bad me for watching it but I was curious) they said the dog has been in the making since the 70's and is recognized in a few kennel clubs. It was made with Alaskan huskies, Siberian huskies, Schipperkes, and American Eskimo dogs. Theyve only just in the last several years become known and somewhat popular. I think theyre cute but serve no purpose so shouldnt have been made. It seems they were only bred for people who wanted huskies but couldnt handle their size.
