That poor dog will die this weekend unless someone adopts him! Just thought Id post to see if anyone was interested at all. Poor dog is next in line to be put to sleep. Did anyone ever notice that spaniels usually have proper names for the most part. My aunt's dog's name is Reginald! :roll: Reggie for short, but just the thought of Reginald for a dog makes me cringe...

Hmmmmm maybe we should gather all the pitties from dogo and assemble a search party to bring her down and kill her! That'll show her just how much pit bulls are "walking assasins." Just so stupid! :evil: When will my poor pitties ever get a break???

My dog was a large breed so for her to live to 11 was well appreciated by my family and I. She suddenly got sick and went downhill from there. Like yours, she got VERY disorriented. She had seizures and began losing her vision and even memory. She could barely walk anymore. She was older than me at the time so she was like my older sister and I lived my whole life with her. I understand you dont want to give her life up but look into her eyes... if you dont see the same look of love and pleasure in life she once had, you'll know what decision you need to make. I know when I looked in my dog's eyes, it was blank. Im sure she'd lost part of her memory of me, couldnt see well, and was utterly confused and scared. It was heartbreaking to see her like that and I must say anyone who would make their dog live through that, just so they can spend more time with their dog, is just selfish. Im sure you arent and believe me Im not directing it at you, not at all!!! So just take time to think about your dog's quality of life, as K said, and think if she would really want to live that way... OMG!!! I wouldve beaten him up! :evil: :evil: :evil: That guy sounds like a real asshole! Oooooo people make me so mad! You have to find a way to get him fired (just dont risk your own job for it). All those poor dogs, who knows what hes done to them all! And poor Pauly!!! I hate that, when people disturb a dogs life like that. :( You know you go through so much work after the dog has problems and all that can be destroyed in one moment! I hope that didnt leave longterm affects on Pauly or any of your other dogs. Oh and thank God they didnt get out the gate!!! That wouldve been awful!!!!!! :cry:

I know how you feel too. I was dog-sitting and the dogs had a frog toy that would ribbit constantly! I hated it but Im glad I dont have to live with it. You all are so lucky you have dogs to enjoy ...all I have is a cat. Hes very dumb btw. He runs into walls, and up them too. :lol: :cry: :cry: :cry: I WANNA DOGGIE!!! :cry: :cry: :cry:

Mine is "humanely euthanized" They always say that and its usually with pit bulls which makes me mad. I luv my pitties. :cry:

At Petsmart I deal with different dogs all the time so I have to learn their personality quickly. One time I had Amigo or maybe Henry (brindle pit mixes) and someone asked: [b]"Is that a tiger/dog mix?"[/b] :o Thats impossible. And yes they were serious when they said it... Another time I had two small ACD puppies and someone asked: [b]"Are those dalmation puppies?"[/b] They have blue coats with black and tan markings with spots, :roll: not hardly anything like any dalmation Ive seen. Once when I had Colby (a HUGE rottie mix somewhat aggressive towards children and adult men) a man came up to him while he was growling at him and said: [b]"Wow, hes sure friendly! Can I pet him?"[/b] While he pets him and nearly gets his hand taken off! :evil: People never cease to amaze me! Stupidity seems to be sprouting rapidly among our species!!!

Well I treat dogs better than humans lol and if I were to have a dog I would NOT breed it to its half-sibling! Thats like me and my half brother from my mothers side being married. Picture it that way and you wouldnt like it either. YUCK! And they dont have a grossed out emoticon so :eviltongue: (its grossed out not mad lol)

I see them in petsmart every once in a while but Im there every weekend so no wonder. Theyre huge! One was taller than me but Im a shortie :lol:

Well, Atom, it sounds like youre not as concerned with the pups health as I originally thought. If youre not then there would be no problem with getting a puppy from a rescue. When you get a puppy from a breeder it seems to be more hassle researching than actually saving a life by adopting! Im not even going to get started on the whole breeder thing because thats why I left for a while in the first place but you need to do the right thing for the dog's sake. From the information Ive gathered and from what everyone else has said, it sounds like this breeder isnt the best choice to get your puppy from. Even if the two that mated were from different litters it was still imbreeding which can cause health problems. And most people go to breeders because they want healthy pups! I would rethink getting a puppy from that breeder and look elsewhere. It will be best for you in the long run.

Thanks for the information! Thats so interesting that they come in so many colors when a lot of people (like me :lol: ) would assume that they were only black. Well, you learn something new everyday! I feel stupid that I didnt know that there were so many colors!

:D hee hee I figured you would know a lot about their colors. Do you have any pics of the grey ones? Id like to see those. So can the rare-colored ones still be shown or do standards only allow black newfies?

Sry I didnt mean to sound so ... well, rude when I said that :oops: I guess I got worked up. Bad topic for me because I try to defend things too boldly. I understand breeders like the ones here mean well but I just dont agree with breeding thats all. Im not trying to insult people individually Im just expressing my opinion and thats that I think breeding is something that should not be overdone as some people do. And I do think BYB and puppy mills etc are FAR worse than people who show dogs. There is a BIG difference between the two and I would never, ever compare professionals to those scumbags. Anyway, the law sounds like a good idea but just like every law that already exists its going to be broken. I mean, I think people who show their dogs should be allowed to take a test to get a permit them wouldnt have to pay those expenses, only other people doing it for profit and such. I understand perfectly that people showing their dogs are going to protest this but please understand its in the best interest for the dogs, as I see it. you dont have to agree and Im sure most of you wont but if this works out, I think it will decrease the population and less will be euthanized. Again sry to anyone I offended, Im overlyexpressive of my views on things :lol:

It may not seem like it but you are contributing to the death of dogs and puppies in shelters. There are so many examples I can think of that people have gotten a dog or a puppy then they see purebred puppies for sale and they want them! :evil: It makes me so angry because they think that purebreds are better than a rescue/shelter dog. And what is the point of breeding anyway its like saying oh my dogs right now arent good enough Im gonna have to keep breeding until I get the "perfect" dog! Im sorry but the whole topic gets me so mad to know that just because people are adding more dogs to the population others have to suffer for it! :cry: Why should they have to pay the consequences of our actions?

Ok my friend Claire who adopted my buddy Amigo (the pit in my avatar) said she has noticed lately he has been sheding like crazy. We cant figure out why he would be doing this, can anyone explain? His fur is short and he is losing so much but as far as we know its not because of any skin problems. She thinks maybe he had anxiety from her being on vacation but she isnt sure. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you! Angela
