My grandmas dog tramp had a HUGE tumor on his left shoulder. When it starting rotting, the vets had to remove it. Doesn't sound like a cyst... But there is still a chance of cancer. I'd go see your vet.

I signed it -
Should I be as cautious with treats as well as food?

I don't think that has anything to do with rolling (i hope), but that is a very depressing story. No one should do that to a dog.

That is very sad. I have a local greyhound rescue who is always advertising a dog in the newspaper, visits petshops and everything!

Well, I am completely against dog fighting. But I appreciate Hmmm being honest in that area. BUT I also want him to reconsider what he's doing, he is 'making' dogs fight... We make them into what they are.. We make them feared because of the fighting. How can one stand letting their dog get bitten and 'abused'? However, I 'do' say dog fighting is wrong, I do 'not' say that breeding a fighting bitch is wrong, ONLY if the bitch is not human/dog aggressive. NOTE: Just because a dog has never biten a human, doesn't mean it wont. I must request this topic be locked.

You didn't answer MY question. So lets make it more clear... has Hmmm FOUGHT in rings at anytime in his/her life?

http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/akita.htm that has some Akita information on it. Although I have found Dog Breed Info.Com in-accurate.

I have a question, and I want either K and/or Hmmm to answer. has Hmmm FOUGHT in rings at anytime in his/her life?

Congrats Courtnek! -
I don't want to step in, because this is a WEIRD conversation.. But.. Is the 'fighting' that Hmmmm is doing like training a dog to Bark on command, but not bark unless it IS a command?

I plan on showing my puppy (3months) when she's older, and IF I think she is show quality. Hard to tell because she's a puppy right now. What should I know about shows and earning the obedience title? Can any of you suggest a helpful book/site (preferabley book) about either of the two? I'm really new to this and I've never been to a show before... The breeder that I got puppy from said I could go when she takes her champ out again. But that hasn't even happened yet... She's having it pretty hard right now though. I know heal and stay is almost a necessity in Showing, as is non-agressiveness. But what 'obedience' looks for, I have no idea. Any help is appreciated!

hey, thanks a lot! There is a Wellness supplier in the ONLY pet store I haven't been in yet
-
Ok, I've been searching for Wellness and Can/Felidae, and for both I've had NO luck. Does Wellness have a web site? Canidaes web site didn't really help me much. Considering the request place thing didn't work.. Couldn't find anything in my 'area' code... Can anyone help me??

I think... Sociability with other dogs/humans (in a general interaction) Willingness to please/work for human Playfulness

Yah, your not a backyard breeder. Backyard breeders don't CARE what happens to the dogs, nor the puppies. But on the other hand, a true breeder would breed to improve the dogs breed. Like, cancel out its bad habbits(like excessive barking). Breeding 'pets' means you should have a desexing contract, that I agree with. Other than that, you seem like a good breeder. I could go on about the bads and goods, but that would lead into a whole different discussion as others back-fire at what I say, and add onto it!
