:Dog_run: Re-Run really likes the Merrick foods so that's what I've been getting him. They seem really good but when we opened a can of Turduckin' there were what looked like chicken wing bones in the one can. There were three of them and I wasn't sure if that's what was in them. They broke apart really easy, they were soft and easy to chew but I was afraid to give them to Re-Run so I threw them out. Has anyone who has feed that particular type of food also found bones in the can or was that a freak thing? The other can of Turduckin' I bought didn't have bones in it. Just wondering if I should call and complain or what. Paula & Re-Run

:Dog_run: In PA we must get a license which is $8.00 or for a spayed or neutered dog $6.00. I think seniors get a discount. If your dog is caught without a license it is a fine of $300 plus court costs. Court costs depend on lawyer fees but can be anywhere from an additional $100 on up to anything. Not sure what the fee is used for, it's just another tax for us. Paula & Re-Run

:Dog_run: Actually it's on Monday !! My baby will be two!! Where has the time gone?? We are going to the cabin and having a party up there with his dog friends. I bought the other dogs favor bags with greenies, bullie sticks, and a few milk bones. Sunday we are taking Re-Run to the Pittsburgh Pet Expo, that should be fun, we have never been to one before and aren't really sure what to expect. To update everyone on Re-Run health. He has had no other seizures and he has been doing fine. The vet is happy with his most recent bloodwork and we will continue to monitor him. Life is good....... Paula & Re-Run

:Dog_run: Alaskan Klee Kli. I hate to admit that I want one. :lol: I will not pay $1,200 like they have been advertised. I've owned a Siberian Husky, American Eskimos and now a Schipperke. The AKK are a combination of those three plus a Malamute. I think it's insane that people want that much for a mutt. I guess there is a sucker born every minute. I'll wait till one turns up in a shelter. Paula & Re-Run

:Dog_run: Well aside from yesterday morning Re-Run has been his goofy self. He just seemed out of it, tired and clingy, but nothing happened. I have been trying to find time to bake biscuits for him, maybe tomorrow. Paula & Re-Run

:Dog_run: FINALLY talked to the Dr. I was not supposed to give Re-Run the medication, (phenobarb) I just need to have it on hand in case I need it in the future. Would of been nice for someone to tell me that yesterday. One (suspected) seizure does not warrent meds like you all said. I told the Dr. I was told yesterday that I "had to pick up a Rx, directions will be on the bottle" He was not too happy to hear that and measures have been taken to make sure it never happens again. We think he may have had another seizure a few weeks ago. We came home and he had pooped in the house. Re-Run never poops in the house. We will never know for sure but the Dr. Thinks it's possible. For now, monitor my baby (spoil, spoil, spoil) and take it from there. I can deal with that Paula & Re-Run

:Dog_run: Well, that's it. I'm a little upset with the vet. I know he is busy but obviously I have a lot of questions. He didn't even talk to me on the phone. His secretary told me to pick up a Rx later. If anyone has a good web site or info I would greatly appreciate it. I'm in the middle of cooking dinner so I'll try to get back later. Paula & Re-Run

:Dog_run: I'm having an emotional day :( . Was at a friends house and she always gives me her copies of Dog Fancy and I just happen to get the May 2004 issue that has schipperke's in it!!! I was so excited to see that I opened the magazine and started reading and than I saw "Known Health Problems: Epilepsy and mucopolysaccharidosis type IIIB (MPS IIIB) a fatal disease, symptoms of which include tremors and balance problems." I screamed and started to cry, I feel bad for my friend, she didn't know what I was upset about. I called the vet, and the results were not in yet so I have to call tomorrow after 11:30. It's awful, yesterday I was worried about seizures and today I'm praying it's turning out to be epilepsy. I will be greatful when I at least know what I'm dealing with. Paula

:Dog_run: Dr. H. was running about 1 hour behind so we are just getting home now. He is thinking a grand mal seizure :cry: They took blood, CBC & blood chem., so I will call tomorrow after 4. This is going to be a long night. Just like HF said, he may have more, he may not but Dr. H. said it is a treatable condition. I wonder how many others he has had while I was at work. Now I'm afraid to go to work. Paula & Re-Run BTW my daughter was home sick today and I kept calling her to check on Re-Run. She finally said, "I'm fine Mom, thanks for checking on me too" :wink:

:Dog_run: Re-Run will go to the vet tomorrow. The vet is worried about organ damage so bloodwork will be done. I'll keep everyone posted Paula
