  1. :Dog_run: Sorry, to answer your question, yes, you have to put a dog in social situations to socialize them. If not, please let me know how else to do it
  2. :Dog_run: HF you are WAY too nice!! I have been in that situation many times with Re-Run and I am polite to most people but some people you just know are idiots. It's awful and I wasn't brought up this way but I've put up with parents who are oblivious to their "darling" children long enough. Re-Run doesn't like strange people getting in his face and certain kids feel they must. I will now walk past the parents of these darlings, holding Re-Run, and tell them in a nice calm voice, "My dog is leashed why aren't your kids? Keep them away from me please, they're bothering me". I've never had anyone say anything back and I've done it three times. No, I don't look back at them. I don't feel guilty because I'm worried about what Re will do, probably nothing, but you never know....
  3. :Dog_run: That's very odd that Petland won't take the babies back. When my daughter was looking for either mice or a rat they told us they were "pretty sure" the females weren't pregnant but they would reimburse us any expenses (food, bedding, etc.) if they were to have babies and they would definately take the babies from us if we wanted. Same is true with hamsters and gerbils. Our Petco also told us the same thing. You should have spoke with a manager. Also if you were that upset and yelling they may have taken that into consideration. My Mom (and many other Mom's) have always said "You catch more flies with honey than vinager." It's very true.
  4. :Dog_run: I'm all for it :D Too bad it's not that easy to do :(
  5. :Dog_run: Congrats! Time to celebrate :D :D :drinking:
  6. :Dog_run: When you wake in the middle of the night and your legs are numb because your dog is laying between them and you don't move because it will wake him.
  7. :Dog_run: Wow, you must be very proud of her. She looks like she was enjoying herself. Congrats to both of you!
  8. :Dog_run: You have to laugh just hearing his name....Elmer. Add puppy breath and you're in heaven. Have fun ML
  9. :Dog_run: :klacz: :klacz: Happy graduation :klacz: :klacz:
  10. :Dog_run: Not sure what to think of the show but I couldn't fall asleep once it came on. I saw Kyra with Chalcy on Pet Star before and her dog is so well trained. Some of the others.......well, ummmm.....odd? Can anyone come up with a better word??
  11. :Dog_run: I'm in trouble now
  12. :Dog_run: I also did spring cleaning today. The yard was finally dry enough to get out there. I had to laugh, I looked at one "pile" and there was an eyeball staring at me. I do recall he ate an eyeball from a toy midway through winter. It was a cloth one so I didn't get too excited when he did it. I think I will try to spray, see what happens.
  13. :Dog_run: We took a three day weekend and went to the cabin. Turns out I forgot to take Re-Run's canned food. There is nowhere to get anything decent for a dog so I had to give him Mighty Dog. It seemed to be the best the store had to offer. It was only one time and I'm not sure why I can't get over it. I feel like a bad mommy :(
  14. :Dog_run: DP has excellent advise. The only thing I can add to it is either close the door to your son's room or get a baby gate to keep her out.
  15. :Dog_run: Last time I tried to cut Re-Run's nails, he pooped. :o So needless to say I take him to Petsmart and they fight with him. A few of the girls know my car and they were kidding me last time I went in and told me they saw me coming and flipped a coin to see who would cut his nails. That's how bad Re-Run is. It's kind of funny, you see these bigger dogs sitting very nice and there is Re-Run, muzzled and fighting for his life, all 13 pounds of him. Not sure why he makes such a fuss, he loves his feet rubbed.
  16. :Dog_run: :bday: Happy Birthday Lucky :bday: Paula & Re-Run
  17. :Dog_run: That is too cute, I must agree, hounds and beagles and Eskimo Spitz and poms and schipperkes and, ok, most dogs are cute  Paula & Re-Run
  18. :Dog_run: Schippsmom, I'm here. Life has been cutting into my computer time lately. Got it and it's very nice. I'll try to get on later Paula & Re-Run
  19. :Dog_run: :o
  20. :Dog_run: I have only seen the show twice and I won't be watching it again. I just didn't like what I saw. Not sure of the point of the show either. Maybe I missed something. That's just my opinion. Paula
  21. :Dog_run: Troll is right!! Ignore everything wrinkles wrote, apparently he/she has too much time on their hands. I think you've come up with a great idea to help pay for your pets expenses and I will gladly pass out your fliers. I wish my kids would help with Re-Runs expenses. Oh heck, I'm happy if they just check his food and water dish occasionally. Paula & Re-Run
  22. :Dog_run: Very nice, I can't wait to get mine!!! Your prices are also way too reasonable. I've been telling a few friends about mine and they want to see it. Hopefully they will place an order. Good luck with this Paula & Re-Run
  23. :Dog_run: Maybe it was wing-a-ling because it was a wing bone and it broke by just crushing it with my fingers. After reading TDG's post, not sure what to think now. Re-Run likes the food but if it could possibly kill him, not sure I'm ready for that. I did call Merrick and they said someone would call me back. Good thing I'm not holding my breath...... Paula
  24. :Dog_run: OMG How cute she is!! She does love her toy!! Paula & Re-Run
  25. :Dog_run: We put feed out for the deer. The turkey will come back in the spring sometime. At first Re-Run didn't like the deer and would chase them but once the rut (mating season) started last fall a huge buck wasn't scared by a 14 lb dog and actually charged Re-Run. Needless to say Re-Run really isn't interested in deer anymore. I do think it's pretty neat that the deer actually watch you. Paula & Re-Run
