Wow, thanks for all the help! :) I guess I won't let the puppy sleep on my bed yet... :( I have another "plan" though, and that is to have the bed right by my bed! Then I can put my hand down easily and have the dog right there! Some people we know are goign to lend/give me a dog bed that their flat (who died a few years ago :cry: ) had. So until I get the crate that'll be good! Sometimes also I sleep on my floor so I can be closer to my guinea pigs cage. Maybe I could do that the first few nights with the puppy too? Or would it be bad if he then expects me to [u]always[/u] sleep on the floor with him? Foam pads are soemthing I need to look into! Maybe tomorrow I'll go down town and see if I can find some. Film - great idea! I usually use my digital camera, and I can get prints from that, but taking some with a normal camera is good too. My mom has a good quality one. So I can try to get some GOOD shots of my puppy-dog! :D I'm pretty sure this slicker has soft bristles. I'm not [i]sure[/i] but if the puppy protests then I'll know why. Dog tags! I had comptely forgotten about that! I need to wait until I know what I'm goign to name the puppy, but I can always pick up the papers and fill it out the best I can so its just to send off when I know what I'm going to call him. I'll probably hardly ever call him by his name, just "puppy dog",but still :roll: The brush I got has really stiff bristles, I hope that works well. I didn't like any of the ones with metal pins they had in teh store. I'll ahve to see if I can find a good one... I'm [u]definatley [/u] doing both agility and obedience! :D Both seem really fun. Along with search and rescue, and tracking and freestyle, and flyball if there is any in Sweden. And if there isn't, then I can always train it anyway! :wink: I guess I'll have to wait a while until I can start agility and flyball though. There are SO many fun seeming dog sports out there! Could I maybe teach him to pull a... whats it called? it has two metal rails that slide on the ice/snow and then a chair or something attached to it? No one would be sitting in it, but I thought it might be fun to just teach him that. And maybe getting him to be a thearapy dog would be fun too! :D I did some more shopping today, and I got a nylon collar, matching leash, a leather collar that matches the lead I bought yesterday, a thing of toothpaste and a brush. I'm thinking that I can always have the nylon leash, which is small, in my pocket so at any moment I can take it out. And if I'm going on a walk where he'll be mostly off leash, then I don't know if I want to haul the leather one along. Oh, and the GREAT thing: ON SATURDAY I'LL BE GETTING HIM!!!!!! :) :B-fly: :D :D :angel: So now untill then I'll have to keep busy... Tomorrow I'm off to look at foam padding. I'm wondering if I could make a friendship bracelet and let him wear it some, and me wear a matching one? That would kill a few hours! :lol: Sorry this post is so disorganized, but I tend to jsut type as things pop into my mind. :oops:

Right. Panicking is not good! :lol: I just want the best for my puppy, but I also want my mom not to kill me when she comes back for spending all her money! :o I may be a bit strange, but I find special things become even [i]more[/i] special after they've had some animal ruin it a bit! :lol: Most of my shirts have a row of small holes on the righthand shoulder from Tizzy biting there. He is so smart that he does "bity shirts" as we call it when he needs to go back in his cage! :roll: I'm expecting to have have chewed things now because of a little puppy making his mark on my stuff soon too! :lol:

I eventually want to get those pretty stainless steel ones with dents of dog bones and stuff, but this puppy is expensive and along with all the supplies, puppy courses and membership in the dog club, its ALOT of money. Which is ok with me, but I can't buy ALL the things I'd like to. :cry:

I have two ceramic dishes that Birk had, I was thinking of using them. Is taht ok? They're heavy, and won't tip. What is washable bedding? Is it just anything that can be washed or something special? I want to make something in crafts in school, so would fleece be ok? How about a sheep skin (real)? I think its washable. The breeder sends a bag of food with the puppy, so I don't have to buy that yet. Odor remover is a great idea! That way I don't have to check all the normal cleaners for ammonia, or whatever it is. :) I don't think this puppy is going to be that dominant. I don't know for sure, but he was a lot less pushy than his sister, and really loved doing what the breeder wanted him too. I don't know if I WANT to wait until he's housetrained.. :lol: Maybe I'll just get used to doing lots of washigns. Or waking up in the night. Thanks for the help! :)

Well, I'm going to get a crate, but I'm wanting my mom to buy it when shes in USA, cause its cheaper. And I was thinking the puppy can sleep in that, in my room. I would also like the dog to sleep on my bed, but I don't know if that is good or not. :)

Today I went doggy shopping! :) I didn't get that much, because the two stores I went to didn't have what I wanted. Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you so much everyone! :) I'm hoping so much right now! Today I'm going to get some puppy stuff with a friend whos loves dogs almost as much as I do. It'll seem more real then! :) And Abker, if I do get him, you'll get [i]sick[/i] of all the puppy pictures I'll take! :lol: We just got a cd burner, so if I take 500 pictures a day I can easily store them! :D Thats fun that your puppy is only a month and a day older Aonir! :) I'd definatly be able to stay in contact with the breeder. She has like meetings for all the puppies she's bred which is just two litters including this one. But that means the dogs all get to meet their siblings again! :)

Bear, a Samoyed, did something like that. Its adorable! :)

Oh, the puppies were born July 11, so they're older than 8 weeks. I'm getting kind of tierd now... Anyone mind figuring out how old they are now for me? :lol: :wink:

I think I found my "perfect" puppy! :D :jumpie: She was friendly, but without being false or anything. She cared about her dogs, it was obious. The breeder yesterday had like 5 grown dogs. This one had 1, the momma dog. And she's keeping one of the puppies too. So she can heep attention and love on the dogs she has. The momma was sooo obedient! It was really amazing. And the momma was super friendly. The door opened, and this dog came right out and started waggin her tail and greeting us. Got us little "presents" of stiff grasses too! :lol: The puppy the breeder is keeping did lots of vigoruous licks in greeting. The one we might (hopefully!) get is a little less enthusiastic in the greetings, but just as freindly. He is the runt of the litter and wouldn't do that good as a show dog, at least not now as a puppy, thats why he wasn't sold yet. Others had asked and all, but she didn't want to sell him to them. He was perfect, or as perfect as possible. I was thinking of perhaps getting a lab or golden, but purebred labs in Sweden are either so lazy they're kind of boring, or so energetic that they HAVE to be used as hunting dogs. Same with Golden Retrivers. According to the Valpf

Black GSD, I know all puppies are active, but the father was VERY active, and the breeder thinks that that has been pased on to the pups. I guess she sees the difference between these and others shes had, or something. And if the dad is so active, there is a bigger chance that the pups will be to than if the day was calm too, mabye. So I think its better to not get one of them. I am glad I got to see them, though. And someday, I WILL find a puppy that fits me perfectly! :)

Not only are they beautiful, they are silly little darlings too! :lol: I went to the breeder today, and met the puppies, parents, and some other grown dogs too. They were all really friendly, not at all reserved. The mom dog jumped up and started licking my face, and my dads too. The puppies did too, and were SOOO cute! :angel: But the dad dog is very active, and so are the puppies, so we're not going to get one of them. :( Too bad, but we can't have a perpetually moving dog. This spring/summer the breeder is going to have another litter, this time with a calmer dad dog. We met the mommy of the future litter, and she was oh so sweet! :) But I don't want to wait until May to get my puppy. I'd rather get it before chrismas, if possible. I can maybe pursuade my mom to get 2 dogs, however... :evilbat: But now I'm going to look into some flatcoated retriever pups. They are expensive, but a dog expert I know said that 8-10 000 kr ($ 800-1000 about) is the "standard" price here for a purebred puppy. I'll keep looking at ads for mixes too, but I am so scared to get in contact with a byb. My dad said he'd call two breeders tonight, so I guess he'll call later and tell me whats going on. One thing is for sure though- somday I want a tervuren! :)

From what I understand they are very loyal and devoted to their people. How is that shown? Like with Tahoe, a border collie I know, she comes right up waggs her tail and wants to be petted all the time. Morga, a great pyrenees, will stand a distance off and wag her tail and be happy if you come up to her, but she won't go seeking attention the same way as Tahoe. Which are Tervurens more like? How many people do they consider to be their family? Can it be any amout, or just 1 or 2? So they don't love strangers. But if they meet the same person a few times, will that person become a friend? Is it easy to make friends with them? Is about 2 hours aday outside walking, running free and running beside a bike good enough exercise or not? Can they learn to be calmish inside? Like not ALWAYS running around or pacing nervously? What is the best way to train them? Are they generally easy to houstrain? Is there a big difference between the bitch and the dog? :)

Thank you Aroura! :) I'm definatly going to crate train, and in fact I saw in a magazine yesterday that theres a sale on crates in a store close by! Not making a decision when the breeder is there is a good idea. I'm so happy! :lol: :)
