1. I have nothing against religion in general, or religious people, but something like this just makes me so angry!!! :x :x  I HATE the way people can interpret practicly whatever they want from religous things! :x And EVEN IF the bible or other holy books stated "Spaying and neutering is bad" it is still NOT RIGHT!!! :x Just cause religion says something doesn't mean its right. Poor dogs.
2. :D I've added Webby, here is his page: http://www.dogster.com./dog_page.php?i=499 :D
3. Poor dog! I hate being of the same species as those awful humans who abuse helpless animals.
4. I'm not sure but I think you can get her spayed now. :) That should take care of the problem. But like I said, I don't know.
5. I just found a list of the 20 most popular breeds in Sweden. The flattie is the 10th most popular one here! :o And lots of my relatives in the US have never seen one except for Webby. What are the most popular breeds in your country? Here are the top 20 in Sweden: 1 German Shepherd 2 Golden retriever 3 Labrador retriever 4 J
6. Poor Devin  :(
7. Here in Sweden there isn't a big problem. Of course there are tons of ignorant, greedy people who breed for money and all. But there are virtually no strays, and only about 400 dogs pass through the 1 shelter a year. And most of them are runaways who get reunited with their owners, and for the ones that aren't runaways they get new homes. I think I read on the shelter's page that there are more people wanting to adopt then there are dogs... :D If you have more than 3 litters a year you need a special permit, and I doubt that puppymills would get one. I frequently look at ads for dogs and I haven't seen that many for poo mixes. Here GSD/rottweiler and GSD/Lab mixes seem to be the popular "fashion breeds" or whatever they can be called. :x
8. :new-bday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL OF YOU!!! :new-bday:
9. I've known two beagles, and they've both been very sweet and affectionate. They make a funny yowly kind of sound... I don't know how to explain it, but it sounds cute (but can get annoying). They are stubborn and I don't think its that easy to train them. They're wonderful dogs though! :D
10. Ok, thanks! :) I'm going to try both those ideas.
11. Ok, I'll leave it on him for the entire day tomorrow. Thanks for your help! :)
12. How do I get Web to be able to focus on me and listen when there are other dogs/people/exciting things around? He is SO good in the house, and I can let him loose around other people because I know he'll come when I call. But with other dogs... :-? He gets so excited that he doesn't listen. Since we are going to a puppy-class I guess he'll learn to work aorund other dogs. But other stuff, like sometimes just a stick, will consume all his concentration and he gets completely unaware of anything else, including me. Maybe that will be good when we compete in Agility and Obedience, since he will want to do well, or something? But he HAS to be able to listen to me. For is own safetly and freedom as much as for me to have an easier time. I'm teaching him "look at me" with the clicker, adn its working, sort of. He does eventually look at me... I guess he'll speed up with it. But still.... Another thing is candy. He goes crazy. When we are training "heel" in the basement he's good except his teeth get my fingers because he is so eager to get the treats (we do clicker training, so I need the treats) but outside he won't walk at my side anymore. He just tries to get the treats. Its frustrating! :x How come I am so much better at teaching him tricks than I am at teaching obedience? :-?
13. Webby has gotten worse about pulling. With me he's allright, because I do the "be a tree" thing, but he still pulls some and bounds until the end of the leash yerks him (and my arm!) back. And I'm a little worried that it'll hurt his neck... And with my mom he is worse, she says. Since I got him he's had to wear his halti for a little while each day. At first he was impossible with it. Then after a while he got a litte better... But now, more than 2 months later, he still doesn't accept it. He's taken to hurrying away when someone mentions "halti", and when he does wear it he either looks mournful and lies quietly or rubs his head against everything. Outside he does the same. I've been able to practise "heel" with it on, because then he is SO focuesd on getting the treats. But that it. WHEN will he stop being such a pain about it? :( I really need to be able to use it some more, after a walk using it he often is better the next walk without it, but it is so annoying to spend the whole time trying to get him to stop rolling around and rubbing his head on the ground. :)
14. What an awful thing to do! Poor Rowie! :(
15. 1 Flatcoated Retriever, named Webster. His official name is Blackhawk's Eight Days a Week. :D
16. Aww, poor Laurel!
17. My aunt has a great pyrenees, she is a wondrous dog! She does that head butting too. And slobbers... Its one of my favorite dog breeds and someday I want to have one. Here is a picture of Morga; Do you have any pictures of your dog?
18. Voted! :D Rascal was definatly the cutest, although they were all adorable. I love beagles! :)
19. He's fine now! :D He seems perfectly ok, but we're keeping an eye on him just incase. I'm going to try that with the cookie sheets. He gets terrified by noises like that so it should work. He hates the gate things we have because once when he was a tiny puppy he knocked one over and since then he stays clear of them. Hopefully he'll do the same with counters! I think the mouse traps would work well for him too but I don't like having mouse traps at home because I have pet mice... It jsut seems wrong somehow. DogPaddle, good luck with Zaphod! :)
20. I'm exhausted now, this has been a horrible day! But Webby is allright and thats all that matters. He can be such a lovealbe little pain. Yesterday he stole a turkey bone. By the time we noticed it he'd allready eaten some of it. He acted fine, we went to bed. At 6 or so this morning he woke me by licking my face, like he usually does. I was tired and tried to go back to sleep. He whined, but not like he does when he urgently needs to go outside. So I didn't pay attention. Then this awful stench filled the room. :-? So I put him in his crate and cleaned up the yucky mess. I went outside to throw the three (!!!) black plastic bags away, he followed. Pretty normal, he's a puppy he has accidents. We went back to sleep. Then I awoke again to a gagging sound and sure enough, he'd thrown up. On my bed. I got scared and woke my mom up. He kept whining and looking unhappy. My mom examined the... stuff that he'd so nicely deposited on my clean sheets and found a huge piece of bone, along with huge amounts of grass he'd eaten outside. She called the vet. By that time I was terrified, and he was acting strange. He was lying down and didn't react by jumping up joyfully when someone else came, like he usually does. So while she was on the phone I sat there with him and I really really realized how much he means to me. It almost takes something to scare you to understand how much you love something. The vet said that he shouln't eat anything and should drink lots. She said that they could take X-rays to see if there were any bone pieces to big for him to get out but we should wait a while to see how he was before taking him in. He did start acting better, luckily. He had to go out often but seemed better after each time (he has diahreea (sp?)) We called the vet back at about 10 and she told us to give him rice broth. He does not like it! But he drank it and then later he got it mixed with rice and some tuna fish to make it more appetizing. But he started acting more like his jaunty self. And he has throught the day seemed to get better, although he doesnt seem to have much contoll over his bladder. Its been lots of in-and-outs today. So he's learned "on the rug" better, which I guess is a good thing thats come out of this. Hes such a poor puppy. No food! All day long! Except for some rice... Which is not something this puppy if fond of. And he must be so uncomfortable too. He HAS to learn not to jump up and steal things from the counter! Maybe the spray bottle might have to be used even. He is allright now, but its going to be a loooong night. How long will it take him to get all the bone out? But as long as hes ok everythings ok, I've learned that today.
21. I'm wondering the same thing with Web and our tree... If a guinea pig can cause as much damage as he usually does, what about a puppy with a jaw as big as the whoe pig! :o We are goignt to try to solve the problem by not hanging bulbs or other interesting things near the bottom of the tree, and tying it upp too. That way, it might get disloged, but not come crashing to the floor... :-?
22. I feed three times a day, around 6ish/7ish, 12-3ish, and 6-8ish. This puppy would eat the whole 20kg bag of food if he jsut had that chance! :o He is always ready to eat, anything, anytime. Yesterday he got cought! we found a little baby tooth in the popcorn bowl... Now WHY would a tooth be there if a certain dog hadn't stuck his big head in it?
23. THATS GREAT!!!! Congratulations!!! :D :D :D :D
24. Good Luck!!! :D :D :D
25. What I did with Web was spray him in the nose with a mist bottle when he bit. I only needed to do it once or twice before he got the idea... Now if he starts getting way to wild I show him the bottle and he "remembers" that humans are not chew toys and he would rather play nice or investigate the bottle...
