things you've randomly taught your dogs :)
marion replied to Marble's topic in Everything about dogs
Ok, let me think. You cannot say the word BISCUIT, all hell breaks loose. When I'm loading the car up for work Ruby lies on the bench, when I shut the boot and garage door she knows I'm going out to work, jumps off and goes in the house. When we're walking on the Heath, she goes ahead but always stops where the track divides, she'll turn around and we point and say "that way" and she always goes down the track we've pointed to. I wish I'd never started saying "Here's Your Dad" when Bri's van goes past the house, they're like two screaming banshees at the window looking for him. And Ruby knows the difference between what shoes and pants I'm putting on. If I get my joggers and trainers out of the wardrobe she goes ape looking for her ball knowing I'm going to take them out. And if I say WALKIES, well that's twice the noise. And after their walk at night, even though Bri stays downstairs and watches tv Ruby knows it's bedtime and comes upstairs and gets in her basket. -
Don't rush to get rid of Max's things Behle. It took us a long time before we could part with Jasmine's bed etc. The day after we had her PTS my neighbour came in, saw the bed in the corner and said "Why is that still there, she's not coming back you know". Well that started me bawling again, how insensitive can you get. I don't think she meant anything but it was the wrong thing to say at the wrong time. I'm glad you're feeling a little better and talking about him will help. Poor Ben, wondering where his protector is, I bet he loves going round taking in all of Max's smells.

Flexi leads - dangerous? or just freak accidents?
marion replied to imported_Cassie's topic in Everything about dogs
We have occasionally used flexi leads but mostly static. Living where we do they just go straight onto the heath, although I always have leads with me. Normally we travel to a local woods where they are off lead. They are quite good, if we stop chatting or sit on the beach they just lie down and wait for us to go again. I'm not really keen on the flexi and to be honest I can't remember the last time we used them. :o Our neighbours thought they were seeing low flying UFOs on the Heath when they moved here 2 years ago. I had the flashing collars on them so we could see them in the dark. It frightened the life out of them, all they could see was flashing red lights (hehe). But I don't use those anymore now. :o (Sorry, off topic) -
 Loved the pics of Ben, it looks like two different dogs. :o  I didn't know their skin colour changed. You learn something new every day on this forum. :D And Good Luck with Bella. :D

Behle we are here any time you want to talk about Max. I was so upset earlier because one of the ladies I deliver to has lost her dog today. I know it sounds silly but I get to know all the doggies on my rounds and I bond with a lot of them. When they pass away it upsets me and then I came home and heard about Max and couldn't stop crying. I've given Ruby and Rosie even more hugs and kisses tonight (if that's possible). Even though we didn't know Max's physical presence, we felt we knew him through your love for him and your lovely stories. :iloveyou: Therefore his loss is painful to us also. Although nothing compared to the pain you are feeling right now. but rest assured our thoughts are flying across the Atlantic straight into your home, and we hope this brings you some comfort as you grieve for your beloved Max.

:iloveyou: TO MUM & DAD :iloveyou: FROM YOUR  BELOVED MAX  Beyond The Rainbow As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played, I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade. I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity. I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide! And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be! My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do. I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night. 'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold. For although we may not be together in the way we used to be, We are still connected by a cord no eye can ever see. So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

Do you know what the dog's name was who bit me? > > > > > > > > > You guessed it "ROSIE" (not my Rosie of course)

:o :o Mei Mei, how come you didn't know which dog bit you, :o :o or did you vote your dog by mistake. Or is it that like me, the older I get the more the memory is receding.

What a shame, :( my sister's dog is dog aggressive and yet a softer dog I've yet to meet. It's so sad because I can't have her when they go away and I love her to bits. I'd love to know what happened to that dog though, I bet she gave it to a shelter. I went my doctor's surgery for my tetanus jab, one of them was on my stomach, it hurt like hell.

I know Sanvean. I should of been at Dunalastair this week in a late availability cottage, :D by the time I'd secured cover for my job the bloody thing had gone. :x We love the Highlands and go several times a year and would dearly love to live there. :D

Oh Zoe, poor dog. :( What happened to it, do you know? Sorry Zoe, poor you as well. I never reported those that bit me, I just couldn't.
